hi, ive just had MMS and GPRS enabled on my T68i with O2 pay as you go, im wanting to use the email client to send emails, specifically as when i get the camera soon, i would like to be able to send the 640x480 size pictures to email addys which i understand you can't do if u use an straight mms message. I can get the email client to work under O2 WAP but as soon as i change to the GPRS profile it cannot find the server, i don't mind using WAP but it does take a long time to just send an email with a small background size picture attachment so i dread to think how long a large image would take.
Has anyone got this working? or is it a limitation with the GPRS on the pay as you go service?

cheers for anyones help

Chris

Because of SMTP authentication issues with GPRS, you might need to edit your E-mail setings and change the Outgoing server to:

193.113.160.13 (O2's SMTP server)

Unless of course you already have done, in which case I'm not sure why it's not working.

I'm only guessing here (but this is the case for Vodafone in the U.K.), your GPRS settings for MMS need to go through a WAP Gateway (specifically your MMS service provider's) so the APN setting is set to access one. It may be that for general internet access via GPRS, you need to access another APN (general internet access being able to access POP and SMTP servers as well).

This is the case with Vodafone, there is a "web" APN and a "wap" APN, and you can only access the WAP Gateway for Vodafone MMS on the "wap" setting. If I want to browse the internet on my PC and access webservers, POP servers and SMTP then I have to use the "web" APN.

I'd double-check with O2, just in case they are different.
