w900i Flash Themes Success!

This is a call for help. Through an accidental chain of events, I succeeded in getting the Grouped flash theme from the w850i and the w810i's flash themes working on my w900i.

I need people to email as many 240x320 flash themes as they know of across the model lineup with the accompanying swf files, and I'm going to work through the rest and update this thread with a walkthrough. My email address is asadqh@gmail.com.

Phone XS++ , along with original swf files and themes from the w850i and w810i, and thats pretty much it. Thing is I need more swf files for the menus for from the w850i. The w810i works but its too small for the screen. The 850i is perfectly sized.

I'll post a youtube video and the how to tomorrow. I got the Grouped menu and theme working perfectly.

edit: just a little insight on what I need, I used Phone XS++ , along with original swf files and themes from the w850i and w810i, and thats pretty much it. Thing is I need more swf files for the menus for from the w850i. The w810i works but its too small for the screen. The 850i is perfectly sized for use. So if anyone can get me all the themes or as many as they can, I will upload a template zip file for them to use with the FSX feature on Phone XS++.

PLEASE GET ME THE MENU SWF FILES. (P.S. I'm now totally satisfied with my w900i purchase)

Done about 10 last year.......all happy bunnies!! Faster to flash than DB2010 phones, too!

I have a W900 and got the flash themes working, but only W850's fill the screen and the radio icon does nothing due to the lack of a radio in W900.

This is the backstreet theme, modified to work with some of the menus:

To make a theme work with a certain swf you need to edit its theme.xml file. I did it on the backstreet with XML Marker by replacing the line:
" Desktop_style Type="File" Source="backstreet.swf"/ "
with:
" Desktop_style Type="File" Source="grouped_desktop.swf"/ "
same with the other SWFs.

i cannot download the file using the link provided. can you tell me how can i find the .swf file and what should i do if i wanna change my *.xml? How to view those hidden/system file on w900i?

can you make W810 themes work on the W850? I don't know the names but those themes like Orbit and Backstreet from the W900. I'll give a couple of .swf files.

Xs++ (FSX) don't work on my w900 red cid.
However walkman title isn't displayed on desktop like in w850.

hey i have a w900 r5af001 unlock and debranded and would like to know whats the best program to upload flash menus? i have some if u want them i can post the link they are all 240*320 but i need help cuz i want to flash my cel to r5bb01 cda europe_1 and after that upload flash menus to it. so could someone please tell me whats the best program for w900.

I haven't tried XS++, but I'm using an old version of the same program called PhoneXC v6. It surely works for W900. You need to put the files to be uploaded in the folder files_to_phone (the path for the SWFs is files_to_phone\tpa\preset\system\desktop\flash, which means you have to put the SWFs in the folder flash, which is in the folder desktop etc.), then start the .exe and connect your phone.

The SWFs aren't in the themes, they are in the phones, in the firmware. After you've put the SWF you want in your phone, you have to edit a theme to point to it. Here's how: open the .thm file (with winRAR or TUGZip), extract all files to a folder. Open the .xml file with XML Marker and add the line " [Desktop_style Type="File" Source="backstreet.swf"/] " above the line " [Background Color=... ". Instead of backstreet.swf you put your file name (emerge.swf, grouped_desktop.swf etc.). If there already is such a line ([Desktop_style...) you just have to replace the file name. When you're ready, you select all files in the folder (the pictures and the modified .xml) and add them to a TAR archive using TUGZip. To do that: select the files, right click+add to..., then a window pops up. You choose the TAR format and after that change the extension of the file name from .tar to .thm and then press ok. The theme is ready.

This symbol [ used in the explanation is wrong, but for some reason when I type the symbol, which is like a left arrowhead, it disapperas when submiting the post. So [ is the left arrowhead symbol from the keyboard, ] is the right arrowhead.

Ok, I brick my phone.
Using XS++ many times, with no success, but now it has broken my phone.
I had to use wotan becouse nothing work.
Now it's all ok, but I think I don't try another time...
However I get always the same error:
-try 4000
-..4201
and stop.

DAMN!
Yesterday I repair my phone with wotanserver. Everything ok. I shutdown my phone and go to bed.
Today the alarm work, so I wake up and turn on my phone.
WSOD!!!!
How it's possible!
I tried with xs++ to flash main, but WSOD is alwais here.
Then I flash main+fs, and get the same error of yesterday: configuration error...
I think xs++ don't finalize.
So I tried phonexc for finalize. It become to hacking, but like xs++, phonexs, also phonexc stops at 4201.
For this strange case I never be able to put flash theme and other stuff on my phone, and I have fear that my w900 can broken again.
I love this phone, but I think I sell it (and buy another w900

).
I'm very sad....

It take 10mins or 10 hours.

but i wonder why w900i still cannot use the w850i grouped theme's standby image...

i think its because the w900 doesnt support any standby image/animation. It just go completely dark(turns off in some way)

i tried it 4-5 times because i got error line like this:

send datachunk failed
failed to upload...

it takes 4-5 hours each.. but sometimes it takes less than 30 minutes and it's succeed then.. lol.. but the flash menu of w850i like grouped lagged a bit on my phone.... i'm using gif instead of swf on standby screen.. but the gif takes a lot of space and my phone didn't show anything there sometimes.. haha...

We have to modify costomize.xml, in tpa/preset/ecc ecc with the line "enable_flash_desktop" at true, but I don't know how exactly...

i tried using XS++ and PhoneXC v6 but when i hold the C button and connect to the cable it says "failed" i don't know wats wrong. i have the backstreet flash theme as well as Lounge and avenue and it works fine i dled it from http://www.myw900.lasyk.net/s[....]-Original%20Walkman-page1.html

have you install the "USB flash" driver on your phone. If not, get the latest release and install the usb flash driver first. Another method, try to take out battery from the compartment first, then put it back on there. hold "C" while put the USB cable on fast-port. You can upload the file without problem if you're using the Red phone.

by running PhoneXC_DCU60.exe file (just to upload swf onto tpa..folder), it need 'hacking" by usually 4-5 hours...

Question, won't this execution hurt the W900i memory portion?

no it won't. It just the way to upload the file to the phone by hacking it.. actually it depends on the luck. Sometimes it takes times before it succeed, but if you're lucky enough it takes 10 minutes or 30 minutes only. Put the *.swf file to tpa/....../.../flash folder.
