Britain Braced for Heavy Snow

Looks like heavy snow is forecast for the next few days in the UK. Lets hope its a good and proper snowfall that makes our land pretty and white again. Awwwwww!

No doubt the whole country will come to a standstill, power lines will come down, burst water mains, schools and airports closed - the usual pandemonium.

Post pictures too if you want.

stand still??? what you mean mate? theres people walking about with 18 loaves of bread

but seriously it would be great to have a heavy snow fall.... man im 25 and i'll be sledging down the valleys giving even a drop of snow lol

Posted by goldenface
Yeah, right to the nearest park to lob great big snowballs at each other then come home ringing wet

Great on your Mountain Bike too

Posted by jcwhite_uk
According to the weather reports, where I live will be the only place in the UK that wont get any snow.We are due to get rain. How boring!

Posted by leeboy13
thats fatreg that is mate..... hes not being doing his snow dance has he........

if the air of you do it now, you may have chance at getting at least one snow ball each

(prob no-one will get snow mate - this always happens and i get all excited over nothing).....

Posted by goldenface
How does the snow dance go again I gotta learn that.

Yeah, you're probably right. It never stays for long where I am either, the salty sea air melts it away pretty quick sticks. Make good use of it while you can.......

Posted by jack854
Yes I agree the forecast's tend to be all doom and gloom and then nothing happens.

I bought my daughter a sledge 3 years ago, and still not had chance to use it.
Did I say my daughter a sledge, what I meant to say was I bought it for me, but I will discuise the fact by taking my daughter along with me.

Posted by leeboy13
the dance can be found here

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69DZGpdE1P8

and a discription is:

'The Dance:
person a- draw a circle in the snow (circum=3 ft), divide into 6 parts, feet in 2 parts next to each other (face outside of circle), hop counter-clockwise so your feet land in the next space, keep your hands on your elbows, lifting them off while in air
person b- draw a figure 8 (7 ft x 4 ft), prance around it on tiptoe clapping 3x in front, 2x behind, 1x overhead- do 6 laps
then both people make snow angels
THIS IS A REAL NATIVE ALASKAN TRIBAL SNOW DANCE. '

LMAOOTF!

I can just see fatreg doing that

Posted by Residentevil

Posted by goldenface

I'm working nights tonight and it's on top of a mountain... we had a centimetre of snow up there last night... If we get the snow everyone's talking about tonight i'm gonna be stuck in work... Think i better take my X360 to keep me entertained!

Posted by scottt
Well i just watched the local weather report thingy on TV i know we should'nt listen to forecasters they never get it right but according to him its going to be the south that get the brunt of the snow and us here in the north east wont get much if any ....... which is a good thing as yeah snow is awesome and all but when your out delivering mail on a morning it wont be !

Posted by Tiny
in the north west its not supposed 2 start snowing until 3pm tomorrow

Posted by Xugaa
One word...

My bottom!

Damn that's two, I guess I make mistakes too.

Posted by Burgaz
Welll we've got a good 3inches in the valleys I just bailed out of work an hour early to make sure i made it home after sliding around the carpark a few times in me car lol! I've had to leave my car half a mile away from home cos the roads are totally covered can't even see the curbs!
And apparently there's more to come!!

My Car before i a couple of hours before i left

The Road outside work, i don't know what the blue lines are from? Must be the flash reflecting off the snow flakes in the air?

What i woke upto!

The girlfriend made me get the snow off her car

Posted by lamont
Manchester has completely missed it, we had about 8 snowflakes i think in the whole city!

Posted by leeboy13

i wish i was up the valleys now with Burgaz - just got pictures in my head of him sporting a dust bin lid flighing down a mountain side

@goldenface: nice building in that picture mate.... maybe its the snow helping to bring out its features, but i like it

Posted by goldenface

@leeboy

I can just picture him now hurtling down and ending up at the bottom with snow up his jumper and grass between his teeth.

Those red and white plastic road barriers are the best because you can bend the front of them up and you can get about 6 people on them.

That building btw is The Royal Liver building. Lots of picturs on the web.

Posted by leeboy13
never thought of using one of those red and white things mate.. im only 25 so i guess i got plenty of time to try that one out

im off to do the snow dance dude..... its stoped here - everyone think 'heavy snow'.... (feel like im on deal or no deal )

Can't wait for kids to come back from school, and have a snowball fight

Posted by goldenface
@leeboy

Dont forget to take your hands off your elbows when your mid-air or it won't work.

Posted by tombadier
This is what its like here at Warwick Uni!

Snowball fights are awesome!

Looks like your mischevious side is showing there Goldenface!

I would have thought those plastic road barriers were a bit too thin?

Had a good couple of inches of snow here, will post a pic or two a bit later!
