If that's the case, that would be Mariah Carey!

Wow you can access the real web on 7650? That phone has just gone up in my expectations

Posted by Raven
Yep, you can! But it's bloody expensive though...
Using GPRS the Kb's just keep flying away.... Much more expensive than WAP so I don't really use it that often..

Posted by laffen
@Raven

Your pics are not deleted. The problem is that pbase doesn't let you link to your images there from another web server.

Posted by Raven
Oki, laffen, thank you very much for clearing that up!

Im very interested in the 7650 now i have found out about "webviewer" what are you guys honest opionion about the phone? Does browsing the real web work or is it a real pain on the small screen? Is the keypad ok? does it feel good? Is there a version of MSN messenger avaliable?

Your views and opinions are appreciated,

sorry to but in guys - how do u copy entires from phone to sim, can u copy all in one go?

Posted by Froddan
It works quite well actually. And the phone itself is really good, fast and stable SW and no major bugs. The keypad's quite good in use, and the joystick is firm and easy to use.
The best part, is all the third part programs that are made for it, there are LOTS.
I would recommend it. It's not as feature packed as P800, but thenagain it has been for sale for 4 months already, and still no sign of the P800...

Well, this would be highly subjective of course, but here goes;

Using WebViewer is much faster than I would have expected, especially when you disable images and use small font(of course not as much fun without images though ). There are several ways to navigate through a websites; You can use the joystick or keypad, you can navigate line by line or "page" by "page", you can actually use the links in a web site as well(which surpriced me a bit).
The WebViewer takes a little getting used to, cause navigating through a website on the "small" screen seems kinda difficult at first. The websites appears as they really are on the screen, but it takes quite a few hits on the joystick/keyboard to get through a whole web site with loads of content.

The keypad feels very good and easy to use IMO.

The phone is of course a little big and bulky comparred to the T68, but I don't really feel the extra weight and I've gotten used to it's size as well.

The menus are very different to navigate comparred to the T68, but when you get used to it, it's an absolute joy! (haven't used a Nokia in a long time). Speed is fast of course and the meny folders can be moved about to your liking. Writing and sending an sms really kicks ass, as you can choose a contact and FINALLY there's the option to send sms/mms/e-post straight to that contact.

The main reason that convinced me to finally get this "brick" was the wide amount of Symbian and Java apps available(like the WebViewer).

So all in all I must say that the 7650 lived up to my expectations and so much more!

Phew....

Cheers.

@ Raven

You wouldn't happen to work in sales, by a chance?

@ orangeman

I'm not sure if you can copy all at once, I'll check it out.

Posted by wapchimp
thanx mate - as quick as you can if poss - got someone asking me - cheers

Posted by Raven
...Oh yeah, and the speakerphone, bright TFT-screen, 24-channel polyphonic ringtones and wave-tones(music files) are bloody fantastic!!!
Sounding like an ad-campaign, I know, but the guy asked 'bout our personal experience/feeling...

Posted by Froddan
@ orangeman

Doesn't look that you can all at once... But it might be possible with a third part SW.

Posted by wapchimp
ok mate - i worked out how to copy 1 at a time - thanx for ur help

Posted by Raven
You can copy all at ones from SIM to phone, so there must be way to do it the other way around too, but I couldn't find it though...

Posted by Raven
....You just have to use the MARK option and select mark all, and then copy.

Posted by Raven
...I think. Hmmm.. "mark" - is that spelled the right way I wonder..

Posted by wapchimp
yeh i did that raven - but no option to copy from phone to sim - very strange

Raven - how did you get an image to go behind the menu? where there are usually just a blank/white background. I can get a wallpaper for the main screen (no menu on) but, once i click the menu...it goes away, and a white screen appears.

Much appreciated for any help!?

Hi Dan, using an app called active desk you can choose five different wallpapers for five different menu options. =)

Posted by Raven
Hey Mark, I'll try to take some more pics of it in action... Yahoo, you say, any more? I'm not sure 'bout those secure sites you asked about, but I can login here at Esato and post replys with the WebViewer.

How good is Webviewer, can it handle frames, javascript?

I know that the Opera browser will be available for the SE P800. Is Opera available for Nokia 7650. They both use SymbianOS, so that should be possible (although it's a different version).

I tried the P800 with it's web-browser and it is very very good.

No, it cannot handle javascript. About the Opera browser, I'm not sure if it will be available for the 7650. I've heard that it will be available for Symbian series 60, but maybe just as an implemented browser in the 3650.

This is copied from Reqwireless' site(about WebViewer):

WebViewer supports the following features:
browsing of HTML content
graphics, including GIF, JPEG, PNG, and BMP formats
bookmarks
history
cookies
forms
security via HTTPS (if supported by the device), basic authentication
HTTP, HTTPS, mailto, FTP, and gopher URLs
viewing of Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF documents
viewing of images at their full size or scaled to fit the device's screen width
All this in just 46k!

Why be content with hard-to-find, uninspiring WAP content? Why be limited to plain-old text from a couple of financial, weather and horoscope sites? Try out Reqwireless WebViewer free for 10 days and enjoy the real Web.

Reqwireless WebViewer is designed to work on MIDP 1.0 devices, including the following mobile phones:

has anyone used a nokia 7650 for about three weeks and then gone back to a t68i for a bit the joystick feels like it's gonna break off

Posted by DanW987654
Yep - i've had a 7650 for about 2-3 weeks, the T68 ish shocking!!! I sent a picture from my T68 to the 7650, and the resolution is really, and i mean REALLY poor!

The P800 may have better features, true...but i can say i'm content with this. You will find that after a few weeks the novalty features wear off and you want a good stable phone that you know will work.

I mean, when out in a busy market...you dont want to be messing about with a stylus to take a picture of a car/item you might want to buy do you? - just open the 7650, 1 press on the camera short cut and snap!

Excellent phone. Loads of expandability - ok with only 4 meg...but still it's been out for ages, and Nokia have already got new phones in the pipeline. How long have we known about the P (Yawn) 8 (Yawn) 00?

woohoo!
