oki had a paird of hpm-70 silver for my k800i and the left earphone ent really quiet on them, so i went and bought a pair of black ones and guess what? just now the left earphone has gone really quiet with them, wtf is happening?
do you think maybe im pushing them a little hard to get them into my ears?

I suspect it's more a problem with the connector on the phone, it could need a bit of a clean, try using a toothbrush on the phone's Fastport contacts, maybe soaked in an alcohol (not lager though!
) type solution.

but my first ones worked for a while then stopped, so i got new ones they worked for a while then stopped so i cant see how thats the problem and the phone is like 3 weeks old

Try gently waggling the connector when plugged into the phone to see if it makes any difference. Also try waggling the wire on the faulty earpiece next to the earbud whilst it's in the ear, does that make any differnce at all either?

oops dnt see your post sammy but no it didnt help so im still stuck, gonna tek these back, got a dodgy shop in bradford selling oem hpm 70's for a tenner so ill buy them but ffs if they break again ill go mental

I had similar problem with my HPM70. The left speaker was louder than the right, and I cleaned the phone's connector. But in my case, it was not the headset, but the phone connector was dirty.

no first paiur was from my mums w800i i sorta borrowed them, second set was a black pair from o2 shop, i was gonna go to a dodgy shop and get a pair for a tenner today but im gonna try get them replaced by o2 shop, but i still wanna know why they keep breaking

I have the same problem but my ones sorted after a bit of wiggling it around while it's plugged in. I think yours is just bad luck when it comes to buying headphones.

well i took em back and they refunded me cash cos they had none left so i went to the next nearest store and bought another pair, hopefully wont break this time

or so i thought im so pissed off now, since i last posted both those and a pair of apple in ear headphones hve broken where one earphone went quiet.
can anyone tell me what im doing, it seems to be with the ones that go into your ear canal, i would rather not go back to the normal earphones like HPM-60 as i love in-ears but y do they always break for me :'(

Palex, sounds like you may be pushing them in too hard. I notice on my HPM-70's that if I push them in too tight the sound disappears until I release the pressure, so possibly ear canal bud designs have some kind of problem if you press on them too hard?
I will say, as soon as I release the pressure, the sound comes back, so I just push them in until the sound stops then remove my fingers and the sound comes back and then I leave them in that position (rather than try and get them in closer). I find they are in far enough for the sound to be loud enough and still block out external noises adequately.
I've been using mine for over a year, pretty much everyday, and they still work perfectly.

the HPM-70 earpiece does resemble the sony EX-51's, in both looks and problems. they're probably the same mechanically, just that one has a shorter cable. i've come across many EX-51's having the same problem, where the left side goes 'quiet' after a bit of useage. problem could be the wire connecting to the earphone is fragile, and tends to 'pull out' with a bit of force?

umm i dotn know about the last suggestion as it seems with all my in ear thingys, well as the idiot i am i bought a new pair of cx300's for cheaper this time, from mymemory and im not forcing them in any more just pushing a little and aaiming them right at my ear canal so i gt all teh pase

, anyway ppl say these sennheiser are imitated and one of the signs of a fake is popping sound when you move them around in your ear, although both pairs(one form currys one from mymemory.co.uk) both seem to do it lol, and they are defo genune
