Hey, i need a new telly for my bedroom so decided to get a HDTV, like this one:
HERE

Is that a good price? Is it worth getting HD?

The thing is i can save £15 and get an extra inch for THIS

Can anyone advise or know of any good deals?

The most i can go is 26" i think

Thanks in Advance.

Danny

I reckon you should save up a bit more money and get a decent more reputable HDTV, you can get a nice white Samsung 23" for £399.99 from most places.

Saving up around £600 myself and going to get a 26" Bravia

i agree with scott. when i started looking i was like you, wanting to spend about £300 but i saved up to £600 and got a 26" samsung with a 3000:1 contrast ratio... colour is awesome! definitely worth holding out.

so does contrast ratio makes a difference?

Scott, get a Samsung not a Bravia, better and cheaper.

Danny man, BUY RECOGNISED BRANDS.

You do get what you pay for with things like this...

What a lot of you are saying isn't always true, why not ask people who pride themselves on knowledge of these matters, like the AV forum. A lot of the time you can get a good TV without a nice brand name and still have an extremely good quality TV.

For the price of that sammy 19", theres a wharfdale with an aspect ratio 7000:1 and HDMI!!

Anyone interested in buying a CRT 28" TV??

It'd b better 2 go 4 an LCD or Plasma disp wit HD n HDMI suport. Anyway if u r interested in CRT, here's an option...

Samsung 29" SlimFitTV (Model: WS32Z30HE)

Aspect Ratio 16:9

Input Signal Type 480i/480p/576i/1080i

Image Scan: 100Hz Digital/100Hz Natural

DNIeâ„¢ (Digital Natural Image engine)

This is untrue, with tvs you pay for the brand names for a very good reason.

Sorry to disagree with you on this one but to me its untrue. Since the whole LCD TV hype arrived i went through a couple of the TVs. I had a couple of brand name TVs and a couple of unknown brand TVs. It all depends on contrast ratio and colour processor of the TV. I can tell you a Sonashi 32", which is a no brand TV, and it was superior to the Panasonic I got a few months after of the same size. The picture quality was far superior because the unknown company used proper products and a good contrast ratio along with a proper colour portrayal.

The thing about buying a TV is that you have to see the picture, best in an environment where you are not surrounded by dozens of brands of TVs that are switched on. So meight go out have a look which picture pleases you the most and as long as it has warranty don’t hesitate.

Mind you I do agree that for bragging rights brand names and especially Sony Bravia trumps anything that’s unknown.
