dss-25 conversion - Esato archive

Has anybody successfully converted a dss-25 for cell charging through the usb port.I know there is a port at the bottom but when i`m travelling and only use station i`d like to charge as well and not really interested in a seperate usb charger.Cracking the station and looking athe connections i`f got 5v on the red.Can it be as simple as linking the red to the charger port because there is a common ground.Fyi google has nothing on this.

we had a thread here a year or two back for exactly this where someone did something which sounds very similar to what you suggest and showed detailed pictures too
