How is it? Aibo, isn't it useless?
What can you do? Is it really as amazing as some people say it is?
Looks cool though
Posted by cwchee
Yeah! It does look cool but not very useful! (on the other hand, useless) But its real great! Not many people have them!

floatlite, WTG! I have been wanting an Aibo for a long time now. I just don't know when to stop waiting for a better version. They keep getting better - Sony recently announced a prototype of a new version which they say is suitable as a watch dog. We'll see if that turns out to be the case. Here's an informative article about the newest Aibo on the market and just how "lovable" they can be:

Aibo is a robot in Dog form. You can program it do do some tasks (but not to make coffee, ok)

Actually, "aibo" is the first robot in the world to have "true" artifical intelligence!
For those that didn't already know, a robot with artificial intelligence ("AI") can think and experience emotion, etc... Just like a real person (or dog in this case)!
Sony was the first company to successfuly create a robot with AI, which was unveiled in the "aibo" robot, available to consumers globally...
Sadly, after 3 or 4 generations of aibo, Sony has discontinued aibo globally, due to the small number of people buying them (which many attribute directly to the high cost of purchase); if you look around online though, a limited number of places still sell them.

That's pretty cool...
But I still prefer aibo (after all, a dog IS a man's best friend)!
