ok, his evening i plan to get an LCD tv from comet.
i've managed to narrow it down to 2.
32" LG HD with a 1200:1 contrast ratio seen
http://www.comet.co.uk/cometb[....]o?sku=263710&tab=specification
OR
26" samsung HD with 3000:1 contrast ratio.
http://www.comet.co.uk/cometb[....]o?sku=320536&tab=specification
so its size Vs quality... ?

well, we used to have 'on digital' a few years back which changed to itv digital i think. and we used to get that ok ... we have freeveiw built in to the downstairs tv which works. but thats also linked to sky.

I would go for the Samsung. Also you hook it up to your computer if you feel like it.

yea i see that. the LG does it to tho i think. i wouldn't use it fo that tho i have 2 17" lcds for my pc

Unless your going to be having SKY HD or any HD AV equipment take the LG.

Mate you can get it MUCH cheaper than that.
Let me find you where I got mine, the Samsung. Very good tv.
Take a look here

I know the 26" isn't identical but a superb tv at a very competitive price.
Or you can get the 32" for less than the 26" samsung you were looking at,

one final toshiba - http://www.ebuyer.com/custome[....]3Jldmlld3M=&product_uid=101544 - £540 - 27"

about the 2 youve posted -
the lg does nt display ntsc material a problem if you import discs from america or have a chipped games machine and get games from abroad. also it does nt have rgb scarts which are the best quality from a normal tv source ie sky and say a ps2. also doesnt have a pc input either
the samsung doesnt have components so if you want sky hd your buggered it also states it isnt hdcp enabled which as i rememebr does nt make it truely hd ready as this is part of the encryption protocol and with out it in the future you might not be able to view hd content in the future
thought the prices aint bad, i d look at some of the other links first see what else is on offer as these aint the greatest
