Esato - Best and Worst Phone of the year 2006
Right lets have your votes, your good, honest-to-god, objective votes. This poll needs you, in order to find out from our worldly-wise and knowledgeable Esatonians what, in their opinion, the best and worst Sony Ericsson handset / product launched in 2006 was and why.
For the best phone title we have the obvious Cyber-shot contender but then again we also have some worthy Wallkman contenders but don't forget that this isn't just the best featured device but also you must take into account the design, features and problems inc fw issues, build quality etc. What was the best product allround?
What was the worst device? Which device has been a disappointment? Which phone got you worked up into a lather but ultimately left you cold. There might be a couple of contenders for that title.
It also doesn't have to be a something that you own or have owned and it doesn't have to be a high-end device either so name your device ...

Best- P990 (No matter how many negatives it has, its still the best phone available at the moment)
Worst- W300 (Because at its price it could have had a better display and a better camera)

I think P990 is almost an all-round phone from SE for 2006 and so far I satisfied enough with its performance and features.
The worst : Z530
Except its external memory card slot availability, Z520 is better than Z530 in overall.

Best - Easily the P990.. A complete package.. Was always very stable for me and with the new firmware, it rules. Also if i was allowed to cast two votes, i'd give the k800/k790 a vote for the best.. Was completely satisfied by the k790- was a totally amazing phone. But going to the p990, i haven't gone back to the k790.. since i haven't used any other phone this year i wouldn't be able to judge which was the worst.

The best in my opinion would be P990. And the worst is z530. Both are quite different and display a full range of distinctive options. I think z530 would've been a good option if it'd had radio and a better camera.

The P990 was a brilliant concept but ultimately disappointed me. I wouldn't call it the worst but it doesn't deserve to be the best in my opinion. The best for me would be the w810i. Worst would definitely be the w300i.

best : the W810, because it's very responsive with the menus, the dpad is great, the camera also, and the memory is very much expandable right now.
worst: I'd have to say the K310, because the design is not very good, don't like the keypad much and the display is bad ...

Worse: W950I (Because it's got the worst keyboard I've ever seen)
I would also mention the K610I and Z610I as their great feature rich phones for the price that look lovely and work well. Overall the K800I must have been one of the most popular phones of 2006 looking at it's sales figures.

w900 - worst - only because of the way in which it was released - in white only on voda for ages.... then orange never got it..... so i never.... tbh i found it hard choosing a 'worst' phone as i gotta say im loving SE at teh moment
so all you w900 owners dont get offended - its merly due to i have to choose one and due to the way in which it was released.....

Brilliant camera phone, and the only one on the market with a xenon flash. It was a worthy successor to the K750 and even proved itself a polished rival to phones even like the N73. Wasn't bloated with extras and made perfectly for its target audience.
WORST: V630
Well with all the K610 clones last year, this was the worst. Who needs the V630 when SE already had three more phones with the same specs (and then a Z610 for others)? Then to add Vodafone branding, locking, removal of the activity and web browser buttons, and a truly horrible design. I don't need to say any more.
No more Voda SE phones again!
And I'd like to defend the W300. It was a low end

Well there must be more opinions than this to get a fair view. I'll keep this open for a while longer.
Well it looks like the two front-runners are the P990i and the K800i.
I predicted that the P990i would draw people out to vote good or bad in equal proportions but it would seem that in general the P990i has won over the majority of our hearts and minds.
I'm surprised to not see more people voting for the W810i.

Best - k800/k790 - Best Cameraphone of the year(all mfg co's) and looks decent aswell.
Worst- P990i - Yes i know the new firmware is out and the phone is a far better deal now but when you look at 2006 for the P990 it was an year full of launch delays,postponements and when it finally came out all we got (or atleast me) was a phone full of bugs,memory leakages constant restarts the list goes on...
So for me k800/790
's biggest achievement and the P990 their biggest failure for 06.
