Easyjet have claimed bristol airport is to dangerous to land at as the runway is to slippery when it rains.

there you go..

i dont see how that is violet.. looks pink to me!

fatreg

Posted by whistla
They are just looking our for their passenger safety as landing on a wet runway can cause a longer landing distance and stopping distance also hard use of brakes can cause skids.... just my 2cents

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
@ Lee thanks, I think we need atleast 10 volenteers from esato for this to work lol

Its just got worse, I just had them on the bell and they cannot transfere me to another airport as tomorrows flight hasnt been cancled yet.... they will prob cancle it at the last min like they did today. Literly as I got out the door a friend rang to tell me!

why can't they just land at bristol in the rain, they have done it a million times

Posted by fatreg
its special rain today!?

fatreg

Posted by whistla
An interesting video..... hardly related to the topic but a good watch

Posted by goldenface
@fatreg

Or the wrong kind of rain.

@Luke

so what are you gonna do to pass the time? or as the ad goes: -

"I love being stuck in a Spanish Airport all day..."

i'd be in the bar getting legless..

but then again i likes me booze

fatreg

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
yeh at bristol we get the wet kind of rain you know comes from the sky, easy jet only fly when there is the kind of rain that comes from a hose pipe.

I love the airport its fun fun fun.... I just had lunch and forged a fake hotel bill so i can claim lots and lots of compensation!

Posted by fatreg
cheeky cheeky lukey boy..

mini bars are dead expensive too..

fatreg

Posted by Sammy_boy
Maybe you shouldn't bring me back any fags judging by the reaction! I have slipped a bit, having the odd ciggy! Can't afford to smoke more than that though so won't be returning to old habits.

What a silly excuse though - a wet runway? sounds like a scapegoat for another problem perhaps!

Posted by fatreg
although...

i've ever heard anyone whinge that they can't get home from holiday!?

fatreg

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
lol, unforchantly this holiday wa sonly to see my family and after 3-4 months of uni life I cannot deal with a quiet life

I was so looking foward to getting home, I have my mates, my room, my booze, a load of new toys just waiting for me

Posted by fatreg
im sure they will still all be there when you get back lukey boy

new toys? oooh mr xmas been?

fatreg

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
lol yeh they will, but im impatient.

New toys came as I got a bit bored one day and did some internet shopping

it includes:

some ralph lauren sport
a new rado watch,
some parts for my air pistol
about 4 xbox 360s
a few xbox games,
um a m600i
a k800i
possibly a w850i

and to kill some more time I just broke open a bar of premium valor chocolate

Posted by fatreg
for a uni student your not that poor mr luke...

*you running some kind of illicit business?*

fatreg

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
lol, I have my ways of making a few bucks, I have a natural tallent for turning money into more money... just a gift I spose. Anyway thats only a few little toys to keep my busy for a day or so

Posted by jcwhite_uk
They have just laid a new runway at bristol and havent put groves into it yet. Several planes have over shot the runway and ended up in the safety area in the wet since the new runway was done. Easyjet are being cautious as they dont want a plane to have an accident.

Posted by fatreg
no grooves!?

what a bunch of chimps!

fatreg

Posted by leeboy13
thats classic..... and the end user again gets you full front of a airport cock up..... nice

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
yep init so...

@ lee if I give you 30 quid fancy running up there with a angle grinder and putting some groves in there?

Posted by leeboy13
lol - hell yeah!

have you got an angle grinder tho coz all i got is a cheese grater

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
got a dremel if you want

Posted by fatreg
i got a nail file..

will that work?

£30 luke? thats more than your flight home isnt it??

fatreg

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
yeh just a bit more the flight was about £150 quid... talk about a jip

Posted by fatreg
£150 for an easyjet flight?

jees..

thats rude!

fatreg

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
yep... easy jet scrw you, they aint even getting me home so far...

Posted by fatreg
i do hope there giving you free food and drink?

fatreg

Posted by Sammy_boy
And accommodation too! Hopefully you'd be able to claim some sort of compensation too, though I bet there's something in their T and Cs that mean you can't

Posted by leeboy13
Id be telling them you have exams and deadlines to get back for mate and this is totally un-acceptable.... may get you home quicker.... as im sure all the other flights into the uk are not full.....
