I believe that the networks are not compatible so you cannot send sms anywhere else other than the north american continent right now. maybe in the future?? who knows.. you can use ICQ to send free sms to your friends in europe (if they use that program) that's what I do myself.

Hi Wolfie,
Are you on rogers or fido in canada? I'm currently on fido and feel that I quite limited with respect to what my phone is capable of.
How does the icq solution you suggested work?
Thanx for your help,
Mark

Reboot, Fido and Rogers AT&T are blocking the international SMS, because it's cosing them a lot of money as a friend of mine who work for rogers told me... you can call fido customer service and they will tell you if it's posible or not....!

i called them and they confirmed that my sms's have gone trough...but why the recepiant is not getting them...no idea

oh my god, I had no clue that Fido was going to offer the T68i as well ..I just got mine 18 days ago from Rogers and I thought that was never going to happen lol, considering that I first learned about the existence of this phone in the beginning of 2002... Anyway, I know that my bro's wife used to send messages to my bro here (while she was in europe) via an email gateway, she couldn't actually send sms's to him, he's with bell mobility-motorola.
as for icq, it works great, it's free; I've always received the tests I have sent myself, and the people I have sent stuff to always received my messages... if you need more info on technicalities you can send me a private message as I might forget to visit this forum in the coming days.
