Posted by ali_baba
Did u try d WinRAR site, Boba?
I don think there's suprt 4 Symb. I'v seen one 4 PocketPC's though...
Posted by BobaFett
actually my request isnt working. i wanted to store pix, music etc zipped, but at usage it has to be unzipped, so i gave to use the same data amount

help! I think my E60 is a tad spoilt! Anythng i put like themes, games or software sez file corrupted! I even turned off the online certificate check bt 2 no avail. Ideas?

Hi Boba,
You lost me on this one if you Zip or rar a file it compress it only for storage as far as i a am aware you can not view a Zip or rar file even on a PC with out extracting it first. But you would be able to store much more data if it is zipped or rared on a memory card then just un zip or rar it when you want to view it and re compress after. I really don't get what you are trying to achieve here please explain.

Thought there is a way now a days to see, hear zipped files without unzipping it to save more mem. Thx

@Boba,
I'm afraid not the main idea is either to take less space while they are being stored or to reduce the file size for sending to someone. But as i said it does mean you can store a lot more documents or pictures on a memory card until you want to view them . Nokia now even include a Zip Program on some of thier devices and I have loads of word docs and PDF's all zipped to leave more space for storage.

indeed, to store them its great, do liked the unzip app in e50. is that from now on a standard feature in nokia biz fones?
Posted by Dogmann
@Boba,
It was added in the last firmware for the N93 and a few other models not sure if all models though.

i didnt had it in my 6680once, first in last autumn, when i got e50

anyone here with an E65?
i heard it takes AWFUL photos. is this correct?
Posted by BobaFett
awful is a bit strong, but a 2mp cam without autofocus isnt the best solution. mind, its not a multimedai fone, so cam is secondary. imo its the same quality like n70 pix, which arent that bad
Posted by fatreg
got my mitts on another e70 today
i love it...

The E65 seems to take pretty decent pictures for sure. Check out sample shots here:

The person who put up the first sample shots I found awful obviously had a smudgy lens and shaky hand

Pop over to www.my-symbian.com. They have some great Symbian software. Also check out: www.handango.com.

So, who has a credit card? Lord, let me turn 18...... I have 2 pay 4 them and er, my parents said, pass those o levels then we see... Agony. If i got it as a trial, it would be so painful, coz it would b like f-secure, it knows it expired on the phone. I had Lcg juke box, it wasnt loud enough. I saw an mp3 player with oranges as a background on a m8s 7610, bt he said it wouldnt work on mine. Is it out for s60 3rd edition?
Posted by BobaFett
seemes e60 fw is very good, cos since gaes nokia didnt released any new one, there are only 2 versions afaik
Posted by bickit
Before u say anything, ive been doing exams, and my E60 crashed real bad, hence my absence. Its now behavimg nicely. Except the mp3 player. Put it like this: unwanted variable sound quality. How do u make an E60 skype enabled?
Posted by BobaFett
thats a good question...
any idea how to use the internet fone incl in the fw?
Posted by Dogmann
@bickit
Go check out www. Fring.com and see if it is a supported phone as if it is you register get sent a link and activate your account. No need to mess around with tons of settings and configuration also it supports Skype, Google and MSN both chat and talk.

Brava! Fring is nice! Try it. So, who's tried surfing over wi-fi? It sucks my battery in 30 mins!
Posted by BobaFett
with e60 i managed about 2h wifi usage

"One of the most common questions that keep reappearing on this website or come to my inbox is How to change font size on Nokia E50. I usually reply that there is no official way to increase font size but there exists some kind of workaround. Trick is to change font for something bigger and more readable. I don’t have problems with small font, in fact I prefer it because that way more information fits on the screen. However some people have problems reading it. Here is a guide on how to change the font in your phone (do it on your own risk!):
You’ll need a memory card and a file manager (e.g. Y-Browser or ActiveFile).
1. Open your file manager and navigate to Z:\\resources\\Fonts
2. Check the names of the files (these are the fonts that are actually used); they have extension .ttf and most likely they are nosnr60.ttf, nssb60.ttf, nstsb60.ttf and S60ZDIGI.ttf; write them down, you’ll need them later
3. On your memory card create a folder called resources and inside it a folder called Fonts
4. Copy the new fonts to the Fonts folder on your memory card (there are numerous fonts available on the internet for free; try a few of them, experiment and see which fits the best)
5. Rename them in the following order: – nosnr60.ttf regular (normal) font – nssb60.ttf bold font – nstsb60.ttf font for titles
Note: if your font files have different names rename them accordingly. Font names on your memory card must match those on phone memory in Z:\\resources\\Fonts.
6. Reboot the phone
If you want to switch back to the default font simply erase the whole resources folder from your memory card. If you take your memory card out of the phone the default font will be used."

The E65 is here! I plan on buying it in december. Its 380£ but by dec it'll be 330 or 300. Its nice! Would anyone know what the yahoo chat web address is? Im trying to make the E60 super functional by making everything work..
Posted by BobaFett
i would stick to e60 instead of e65, myinly coe of the screen
Posted by bickit
The E90, get ready 4 this, when released, will cost 950£ down here! And there's people who have placed orders! Thats like the 8800se when it came. No chance of getting a discount on that model.....
Posted by BobaFett
thats way too expensive imo...
Posted by bickit
Thats the same thing i said when i asked. Im told its supposed 2 b 700 pounds or so, but since very few are being shipped down here, its going 2 cost lots. Its also the only dealership bringing it.
Posted by BobaFett
maybe according the countries it will be different prices, as usually, but even, thats way too overpriced...
Posted by bickit
It'll only stay that price until other dealers get their hands on it. Like 2 or 3 weeks. Then it drops 2 its true price. Would u know the yahoo chat settings?
