Hi all,
Boba the E90 is the long awaited and much anticipated New Communicator, I really have to disagree about the 3.5mm built in jack as the AD-46 gives you this plus a microphone so you can answer and make calls without having to unplug your headphones. Once your call ends your Music restarts and you do not need to stop and unplug and then restart or re plug anything in. As for TV out i already have this and yes it really is good output for Pal &NSTC and also 4:3 or 16:9 output maybe they will add it to other devices soon.

Marc, ur points over d existin Nokia port is quite true. I'd agree.

But what when u wanna connect full sized PC speakers to ur fon. Do u still need your nokia headset adaptor?

I don wanna carry along a Nokia adaptor for connecting a full sized headphone. I'd rather like to c the standard port on the handset itself. Another plus point for this soln is dat many popular 3rd party companies would com out with headsets supporting Nokia fon models, with even better sound quality. Don u guys wanna experience a change from the usual Nokia THING?

Posted by Dogmann
@ali,
Sorry but if i am at my PC which has more Music than is on my phone and is attached to my JBL Invader 4.1 speakers why would i want to play Music from my phone and not my PC or even the Nokia Music manager in my PC?

Actually i just tried it, attached the AD-46 to my N93 and then the 3.5mm jack that is usually plugged into my computer from my JBL Invader 4.1 speakers and got great sound although i still do not see why i would want to this but i can already do what you want plus i have a hands free solution for when out and about.

Marc, i just meant u cud plug in a PC SPEAKER any time u want loud sound. Not necessary the speaker com wit a PC.

The sole purpose of havin a standard interface like 3.5mm port is that u can use headsets of any brand u wish to use without any trouble. Even a competing brand's headset would work if its using the standardized port, just because its a universal audio interface.

Atleast Nokia shud hav provided standard interfaces in its business series fons. Alas... Nokia is famous for following n stickin to its own traditions n rules. It'd stay jus like dat until n unless som1 twists its arm!! Jus lik SE did by releasing Walkman fons & Moto wit there thin fons.

bit oof topic, but is it possible, that 3250 doesnt show "e" at edge support?

Posted by ali_baba
Well, are u askin whether 3250 has such a prob or whether there's any possibility for such a situation? If its the second one, then pls read my post in the followin thread.

http://mobile.esato.com/viewtopic.php?topic=139484

The EDGE availability is highly dependend on ur operator, than on ur handset.

E is shown in e50 for example, not a big deal actually, just was interested

my E60 doesnt show the edge sign. By the way, does any1 have issues with build quality? My joysticks chrome centre is fadin already.....mite have 2 start saving 4 a new cover. @ bobbafet, most phone gossip sites have info on the E80/90. Who knows what the E65 looks likes?

Posted by Aware
E65?? Like this:

Posted by BobaFett
yeap. e65 is really disappointed imo... sometimes nokia can make really bad jokes.

thx for the "e" info

Posted by ali_baba
E65 is not that bad in luks. It shud b d 1st slider in the E-series...

Now a flip open phone wud also b released...

Posted by BobaFett
what will be the e flip fone?

Posted by ali_baba
Dunno the cod no.But it'd b of same class as N75/76, wit better battery...

Posted by BobaFett
where did u rea about it. its the first i time i hear of that

Posted by bickit
Wow! E65 looks great! I still prefer the E80/90. Its everything i need....hope the mp3 player will be better! I noticed my E60 has lower volume than n93. Why?

Posted by BobaFett
e60 isnt focused on multi media like n93, actually both devices are biz fones imo. i was satisfied with e50 sound quality

Posted by ali_baba
@bob
Cudn track where i'd read about E flip fon.

@bickit
Pls includ a post where all useful software's for E-series are listed. U can edit ur front page posts for that. And hop u cud includ d E-series phone model list too.

If u need any help jus ask us, we're here 2 help....

Posted by bickit
@ alibaba, will do! Yes, the mp3 quality is acceptable, but at normal noise level. If in a bus or city centre, its hard to hear anything. The best, but slippery headphones to use are the Hs-33s from the nokia 7360,70. My mp3 player sounds much better!

is the e serie also that succesful like the n? any infos about it?

yes... wel atleast d e50, cause its priced low. The e61 is popular too, among corporates as it lacks cam... once the e61i is launched the E series would be grabbed by enthusiasts too!

@bick
u can use Goldwave on ur PC to edit the mp3 tracks for higher vol n effects....

Posted by BobaFett
interested, who gave a try for e70. that fold out keypad was weird on former nokias too, its really not my taste. imo that solution wasnt that succeful, so i do wonder, why nokia decided to release a biz fone in that style

Posted by ali_baba

Well Bob... taste defers...

hav u noticed that its the E-series dat offers a wide variety of form-factor...

it now jus lack a flip n a n93 style one (which i don think wud com on E-series)

Posted by BobaFett
and the n71. i pstill prefer block solutions, e50 or e60 for example, but instead the joy i want joypad, like on 6233.

Posted by ali_baba

hey bob tell me... does d E50's joystick hav any prob? isn't it as gud as SE?

Posted by BobaFett
my one went wrong after 3 weeks usage, but have to admit, there are some ppl around me using e50 and didnt have that problem, also they dont use that much the fone as me, especially the joy. in average i play with my fone ( calls, sms, internet, games, music ) ca 4-5 hours in daly average. even i still afarid of the joy, but do have keen to have e60

Posted by maggflodd
Hi again,
anyone here used "minisync"/knows where to buy it in uk/europe? It's a usb-charger cable for e61 and other nokias, i.e. you can connect to pc and charge phone at the same time (in fact, it lets you charge 2 phones at the same time)! Was about time, but quick googledigoogle just gave me US-retailers...
Also, anyone use "smartmovie"? Converter-part for pc works fine for me on e61 but the avi/divx player on phone causes havoc... Replaced it with the free divxx player which works just fine, but I'm still wondering... Lonely Cats are usually great for symbian apps, and no other programme has ever caused so many probs on my phone?!!!
By the way, bob... 4-5 hrs!? I thought I was bad...
Thanks for being worse - my "wife" was gonna get a divorce until she read your post... Also
what's with s-60.org (heheho)

any has seen new future ideas from nokia ? Aeon ? watch on google for aeon !

Posted by BobaFett
i saw achieve, but didnt impressed me that much

Posted by bickit
now i know the E80/90 is going to be great, but what if nokia made a touchscreen Eseries? I know nokia have the 770 tablet, but thats not really a phone is it? The 6708 would have been a hit if it wasnt running old firmware, which leaves wondering.... It would be nice to have a touchscreen Eseries. It would kick other phone's gluteus maximus hard!

Posted by BobaFett
imo nokia doesnt like that much touchscreen solutions, otherwise they have made it already. personally, i dont miss it and to be honest, all nokia users around me ( symbian fones ) do prefer the keypad ways, nobody is keen for the touchscreen

Posted by maggflodd
Yeah... I so agree!
A) touchscreen means 2 hands
B)etc...
Mainly, though: big, very expensive touchscreens come with constant probs, e.g. you have to recalibrate them constantly, never as crisp as non-touchy ones, etc... Now imagine you stuiff it into a pocket!!!??? Naah! Then you loose your stylus...

Posted by BobaFett
or we just didnt got used to it, cos nokia never released any, except 6708? anyway, imo many of us got the chance to test it on other fones, like se, moto, but actaually i never enjoyed it that much. true, the 2 hands are very disturbing, myself the biggest problem is cos when i smoke, i usually play around with the fone, so my second hand is in usage

but seriously, i like the symbians as they are. whats your opinion of e70?

Posted by ali_baba
Hey guys touchscreen mobiles has been around for many years & many people swear by it! Especially ones's usin WindowsMobile PocketPCs.

Yes, if u r rough & careless in handlin ur fon the touchscreen might get damaged. And one handed operation is possible, especially with HTC's offerings like the Hermes, Herald etc. which has JogDial with back keys.

@Bob

SMOKIN IS INJURIOUS TO HEALTH!

&

E70 is a feature loaded fon nd u may lik it if u can get used to its split KB & if u can agree with Nokia's theory, 'MORE RAM WUD HARM THE PHONE' ...

Posted by BobaFett
but that e70 keypad solution is a bit too childish for my taste in a high end biz fone

Posted by bickit
@ bobafett, have u seen w@ smoking does 2 yo lungs? And what do u mean childish? Its perfect 4 people who dnt want to carry a bluetooth keyboard around. Personally, as the E80/90 is going to be expensive, im waiting for E61i, my idea of a phone! Now i can look normal again!

Posted by BobaFett
childish i ment that it looks "funny2. to be honest, i never saw any at anybody and when i asked around who would go for it, just a laugh was the answer.

Posted by BobaFett
any e60 users here? i was offered one for a very good price, imo i give it a chance. tested it in the past already. did u noticed any joy or keypad bug at long usage?

Posted by BobaFett
according this

http://europe.nokia.com/comparephonesconsumereurope

e60 screen is begger than n95... is that true?

i do know that e60 has got a really big screen, but afaik n95 is bigger, or at least for me seems so

No, the E60's screen is 2.1", while the N95's screen is 2.6".

Posted by BobaFett
thx for the info. wondering why nokia didnt displayed it on the website

Posted by BobaFett
e60 is here its on charger atm, gonna report later.

Posted by Dale_jeffs

how much

Posted by sapporobaby
It's not an "E" series phone. Hell it is not even a phone, but the new Nokia N800 is very impressive. Made me leave SE all together.

Posted by BobaFett
got a problem with e60, seems its a fw bug, cos in 3g coverage doesnt wanna find net. whats the latest fw version?

Posted by Dale_jeffs
pm for maggflodd

Posted by BobaFett
e60 doesnt work on 3g, its a asin one, flashed lately with newset fw, but no chance to access umts system, tested many other cards, i send it back

Posted by BobaFett
e50 black edition is out, looks great

its the same like the other, but the metal and keypad is black too, just tested it, very nice.
