aargh, di ko na alam kung ano gagawin!
ok here's the deal... i'm on ph smart post-paid but have gprs, so no problem with gprs. next, i have a hotpop account:
Incoming/POP Server: pop.phreaker.net
Username: ryanzb
Outgoing/SMTP Server: smtp.phreaker.net
Email Address: ryanzb@Phreaker.net
Reply-To Address: ryanzb@Phreaker.net (or any other email address you have)
Leave Messages on server: false (some clients will instead have a "Delete messages from server" option, which should be set to true).
Maximum Message Size: 500 KB
Mailbox Size: 10 MB
Mailbox Usage: 0% (0.0 KB)
next, my defalut wap profile is SmartGPRS:
ip adress: 010.102.061.046
user/password: none
ip/dns: none
SmartGPRS data account:
apn: smart1
user/password: none
ip/dns: none

These are the options you should have on the E-mail client in your T68i. Mine are filled out with the equivalent settings and work fine. I suppose you read the other links I gave you about SMTP authentication, so you know that you'll probably need the IP address of your GPRS provider's SMTP server. If this doesn't work, you could try the E-mail configurator at the
website, or as a last resort give your provider a call.
1 Connect using (your GPRS account)
2 Protocol (POP3)
3 Inc. server (pop.phreaker.net) Maybe better to have IP address.
4 Incoming port (110)
5 Mailbox (ryanzb)
6 Password (*******?)
7 Outgoing server (GPRS provider's SMTP server IP address)
8 Outgoing port (25)
9 E-mail address (ryanzb@Phreaker.net)
0 Download (Headers + text)
From name (your name)
Signature (your business card)
Copy outgoing (On or Off)
Check interval (up to you)
I hope this helps.

One important thing I found out concerning email-setup is that it works much better when you enter the IP-address of the pop and smtp server. If you need to know the IP just \"ping\" the two servers using command prompt (the DOS-window). Without this trick I wasn't able to connect, the SE-configurator didn't work at all!

ryan, the T68 email client DOES NOT support authenticated SMTP. thus, if your email provider requires you to be authenticated for SMTP connection, then YOU CAN'T use that email provider's SMTP server.
i currently use HOTPOP, FYI.
You also need to use SmartPC data account that is set to use "internet" APN, and NOT SmartGPRS which is set to "smart1"
In order for you to get these data accounts onto your phone by OTA, refer to the link i gave you.
You also need to set the DNS address for SmartPC after getting the configuration by OTA. FOr the IP address, refer to the same link.

You can still use an E-mail provider that needs SMTP authentication, as long as you send through the SMTP server of your network provider!
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=12338&forum=2#post152989
For example, I use my ntlworld E-mail account on my phone, but I send through orange's SMTP server. I recieve mail through the ntl POP server though.

thanks a lot for all your help guys! finally got the client to work! what prevented me from using it in the first place, was that i should have used the smartPC profile instead of the smartGPRS one. don't know why, but after i changed my hotPOP email profile to use the smartPC gateway instead of the smartGPRS one, it instantly connected to the hotPOP smtp and pop3 servers! amazing!
