Sorry if this has already been posted but i searched for some time.
Just had my bill come today and on it for every non orange text i have send and had a delivery report for i have been charged 0.009p plus VAT. Each one reads SMS Delivery Receipt Text 0.009. What is this all about is this another way to screw over contact customers or is everyone encluding PAYG being charged the same?
Anyboy Know?

That is really rubbish. Orange seem to be getting more expensive and their customer support is getting worse.

There are quite a few threads regarding this, I know i started some of them lol. But i was told that i was going on about the delivery report too much. But as Orange dont tell you about them, there is nothing in the t and c's, there is no mention on the internet so im not sure how orange is getting away with it.
However here goes:
If you are on an Orange Animal Tarriff that you will be charged 1p for the delivery report, If you are on a older type of tarriff then you wont be until you renew the contract.
PAYG Will also start to have to pay for there delivery reports shortly and Orange customer care now closes at 10pm (Thats if you can get through any way)
Orange billing is based in India.
Orange Cinema Text tickets used to be free are no 35p.
I hope the above helps.
If you need any more info then please ask.

This may help.If you`ve got delivery reports turned on,turn them off.When you write a text,write rct then write your message straight after the t.

@xboxman
You may or may no get charged for the Orange ones. (They are having issues with the billing system) I do know that you shluld be charged.
People have reported that placing RCT doesnt always work (It doesnt on mine) its very hit and miss. Also you are still charged, Orange have though of that one already, sorry.

Having the reports off is ok but as far as im aware rct is the same thing and it will still be charged if im wrong i will hold my hands up but im sure im correct.

try starting a sms with "*0#" followed by a space and rest of the message, you'll receive an alternate sms report
Posted by xboxman
Aint that also the same as the rct code aswell?
Correct me if im wrong but wasnt that code only for a certain network?
Posted by amanno1
*0# works only o2.rct works for me on orange and i aint being charged

@amanno1 Watch your bills.
I know that Orange have started to add certain things on.

Just got my bill and no charge.

I have also introduced a new policy, when i have to phone customer inquiries for a charge they didnt warn me about, or a mistake in the billing, i make a note of it & how long it took me, i will then bill them quarterly for my time @ the national minimum hourly wage rate, explaining that i will happily remove the charges for the first period of my billing if they were not aware of my new policy, but charges will apply if it happens in the future.
....then wait a few minutes for my service to be cut off

It does mention some where in the t and c's that orange can do what they want.
I got a not on my invoice saying as of now i will be charged £1.50 for itemised billing.
I rang up and spoke to a supervisor I explained to them that I didnt sign the contract having to pay for billing and im not paying, it was in breach of the consumer act blah blah blah, Any way they removed the charge and i still get itemised billing, When my contract is up im of to 02.
I have a 2nd contract and can honestly say that customer care at 02 is 100% better than orange. They didnt used to be but they are now.
And when you ring them, it says Welcome to o2 UK call center !!

thats cuz o2 are called O2-UK
not as rosy as it seems...
