What ever happened to PMG'S

Hi all,
As another Year draws to an end, does anyone else remember the Personal Mobile Gateway concept that has been coming soon for so long.
I always quite liked the concept of just takeing out the bit you wanted to use and everything communicating via Bluetooth to a central device.
