reporo is better than mig33: faster, google talk acess, etc

Posted by catalinux
mig33 doesn't show all contacts that are online (tested many times, only shows 10 or 12 out of 25).
reporo crashes my phone, causing it to restart after a few minutes of use.

I'd be interested to know which messenging app is most data efficient. I've used Live Messenger and QuickIM on a K800i. Of the two, Live Messenger more readily connects to MSN BUT QuickIM seems to require about a quarter of the data to work in compared with Live Messenger app.

Anyone else looked at this?

Posted by nick2000
Will internet charges be charged?

Posted by goldenface
Yeah but generally, the amount of data used is very low.

Posted by tranced
which of those can disable proxy or can use port 8080?

Posted by roope66
I dont know if I understand your question but I think it´s more upto the network provider you´re using and if they allow connections over all tcp ports, than the application itself.

Jargong, in this early beta, is using :8080 for some datatransfers and also some other tcp ports. People with network providers that blocked those ports cant use Jargong right now, but it´ll be fixed in upcoming versions.

Proxys is also upto the network provider, in some network you need them and in some you dont. I prefer not using it.

Good luck!

i can bet: mig33 is much faster than reporo. reporo's GUI is good looking but complex and bulky(so is slow).mig33 is simple and fast. can you send free sms with that..?

Here in norway Telenor Mobile and Microsoft got togheter and made the first own Microsoft MSN live messenger for mobiles

Actually I think it´s the same solution from OZ Communications that 3 is using?

Good thing: 6 months for free.
Bad thing: After 1 june 2007 NOK 49 per month - a bit too expensive?

Anyway a step in the right direction!

Thanks!
Still very early beta, but we decided to put it out on our site for the people that want to try it out, but if you know you´re a person that´ll be pissed off if it doesn´t work maybe you should wait a couple of more weeks before downloading.
Seems like it works for aprox 50% of the people downloading it, the others have various network problems caused by early code with no HTTP fallback (sorry about that), bad APN settings and operators blocking SocketConnections.

Try it if you want to. Just mail me if you need help. (and dont care about the photo functions in it, they will all make sense in the upcoming version..).

I've seen some posts saying so, thats why I asked.
I just can't seem to be able to use that feature, there is a menu called "Other IM" and inside there are only Yahoo!, MSN ans AIM, so how do I use ICQ?
I'm using Mig33 version 3.02

Posted by ajeetpv

Updated mOrange, Eqo

Posted by ajeetpv
@oco, i can't download the Berggi from wap.mobango.com
it says 'access denied' on the phone's browser. i will try it later from pc.

Posted by ajeetpv
i checked the berggi. its good. especially it's email feature. it goes like your cell no.@berggi.com
it has a lot of other cool features like txt messaging, IM (AOL,yahoo, msn...)
i hav not checked them yet.

u can download it free on getjar

Posted by Kikos
there is something new - movamessenger.
search in google 'getjar movamessenger', or check out www.movamessenger.com. it supports icq, yahoo, gtalk, skype, msn and something else if i'm not mistaken. it's very comfortable, and has very nice gui.

Posted by ajeetpv
@kikos, I created the new account on movamessenger but still i can't login.

Posted by Kikos
sometimes i can't login too, i don't know the reason, it just doesn't login, and doesn't give any error. but most times it works.
it has an interesting feature - i can login two icq (or whatever) accounts at the same time.

Posted by ajeetpv
@kokos, today i was able to login. really it's the best IM service i have ever seen. It has every IM, you name it. I could able to login 4 yahoo account simultaneously
Really it's the best.
Now oco should include this on his first post at the top.

Posted by Oco
Im addin movamessenger but only change this thread ranking with your opinions because I can' get movamessenger working yet
Thanks for keepin this line on
