Just Spoke to 02 and it seems my account is all ready to go for MMS message sending. Apprently I'm one of the first according to the lady I spoke too. Within 12 hours when I get a SIM update i'll be all ready to go.

Its free to send them to another phone or to an email address till 31st January.

Also according to the lady I spoke to the Sony Ericsson website does send all the correct details to your phone.

Lets hope it works when I get my SIM Update.

Anyone else got it working on 02 yet (or will this be a first)?

I think a lot of people are forgetting they also need to enable these services by calling theirdsupplier, also not all O2 service providers support gprs or mms. SinglePoint springs to mind!

Posted by FrankUK
SinglePoint are the worst ever !! (At least i'm not with them)

I didn't reliase I had to enable GPRS for MMS but now I do and now you do too

Posted by can1
You won't believe this but Singlepoint DO offer GPRS now starting from £7.99 per month. I cant wait to cancel my contract next May with them.

Posted by FrankUK
They are taking the pi$$ right ?

Posted by 2tangy
Heh, I just sent of my 30 day notice to (VodaFone) SinglePoint so I can get a MUCH better deal with o2 for only £1 more a month!

Tried doing this it doesn't work, I tried to use wap but all it says is GPRS failed, i went to the o2 website to test the MMS, but it says there is problem.

Do i need to be in a GPRS area?

Posted by 24hrs
You need to activate mms with O2 first, you know when it's active because you'll have a bluey/green solid triangle on your phone screen (bottom left)-24hrs

@FrankUKDon't feel bad, you'll be on board soon! :-DTry switching your phone OFF and back ON again, i did not have these problems! Goto the SE.com site on PC select the Europe site then select the configuator then follow the prompts for O2 MMS payandgo. You will get 2 settings sms messages, overwrite other data profiles. Then just wait for O2 to do there bit ;-)Regards,-24hrs

24hours - thanks I set up the phone from the SE.com site the other day. Phones been on and off like there is no tomorrow - I'm just peeved 'cos I have a new toy i wanna play with - you know how it is

It seems i'm now classed as a 'Select Customer' @ 02 - what ever that means but i do geta free phone number to call for help and I also get calls back - I'm just waiting for this nice lady to call me back within the hour she said but i'll give her till lunch - she sounded nice (She gave me a direct line for her )

Posted by Bruce_Lee_Jacko
Can someone post the O2 number you need to phone to get MMS setup on your SIM.

I have the settings sorted ok, just need O2 to do their bit I think.

Cheers.

Posted by 24hrs
@Bruce_lee_jackoHi there,If on O2 payandgo just call 4445 from your mobile then select option '0' and press option '3' MMS Customer Care, thats it.Hope this helps ;-)-24hrs

Posted by FrankUK
still nothing - this ain't funny any more

Posted by 24hrs
@FrankUKGo through to O2 complaints dept, I bet they will set you up there and then!Remember you don't get sim updates with O2 only on Orange network. If you have a bluey/green triangle on your phone's standby screen (above signal bars) you may already be setup?! And not know it? Let use know how you get on?It's worth waiting for!! :-D-24hrs

I have to say that the so-called 'launch' of MMS by O2 has been a most pathetic spectacle.

I remember subscribing to an SMS alert last month promising early notification of MMS launch for interested parties. I have received no such alert yet.

Then on November 4th I saw a press statement saying the launch had been delayed until mid-November. Despite this, on the same day O2's web site (don't even get me started on that slow piece of crap) is happily extoling the virtues of multimedia messaging.

The evidence of this forum is that the service is patchy to say least, and that the call centre operators don't know how to set up and configure it.

Lastly they have been completely outdone by the Vodafone launch. Not only have Vodafone got better phones but they have also developed an i-mode type service and HEAVILY PROMOTED it. In addition they have launched an M-Payment system for buying thin gs like cinema tickets.

I am considering changing to Vodafone, I no longer have any confidence in O2.

And I thought I was special being a select customer - That fit bird didn't even call me back shes got my number and address and everything ! - I'll give it till 9am tomorrow morning - then its a full 24 hours wait ......

Wheres the vodka?

Posted by FrankUK

Posted by talbius

im having a hell of a time...
i called up o2 and they said they cant activate gprs so i called singlepoint and they said it'll be activated in 48 hours and they sent me the settings. its now been 5 days and still nothing. when i dial up i just get "gprs failed". what should i do??? oh and btw i also got told by o2 that mss wont be working on payandgo till 16th november. hmm. so my singlepoint sim and my genie payandgo wont work. someone help!"!!

Posted by Scoobydoo
It sounds like most of us are making progess albeit sabotaged by the amazing lack of knowlege & consistency at o2 cust serv centre! - they also told me that you cannot have MMS & GPRS set up together - both work fine on my phone - prize prats!

Where can I now go to get some good mms templates? - I have got the preset ones but am hungry for more!

ps - Thanx 4 your mms 24hrs cracking one m8!!

When i turn on my fone i get a green line above my reception but then it disappears. it wont dial up to GSM either - it just says "failled". o2 and singlepoint are useless!

Just need to buy a snap on camera, and start photo messaging! My mate brought a t68i today just because he was playing about with my phone, he normaly buys the other leading brand (Dare i even mention them) ;-)He's in love! Got me to help set it up, and has not put the phone down since 4pm today that must say something good about SE t68i :-DPs. Thanks to all who sent me media messages, yes i got them! think i replied to you all ;-)its all to good to believe? @scoobydoo & frankukThank you for your help

Posted by allalone
Yes but i bet your friend has an official online o2 sim or anything other than a regular o2 sim that goes through Singlepoint. It sucks man. Cant anyone help? Dessy person, u have the same problem right?

Posted by 24hrs
@talbiusHe got hes t68i the same place i got my payandgo sim card from, O2 Shop - Portsmouth. What are O2 payandgo saying to you?-24hrs

Posted by FrankUK
Dunno about Payand Go - But my contracted 02 it all set up - I did get told that GPRS & MMS Couldn't be set up together but it has (Fools) - Have you turned your phone on and off a few times - I did and then reliased they had set me up ! You get a little blue triangle over the reception status - got that then you should be ok !

Hey, im getting rather pissed with O2, i cant get my MMS to work either, when i try to send an MMS, it takes a while to send, like it is actually going to work, then when the sending bar is full it says "user barred" ??? can n e one help?
This forem has more knowledge than O2!!! :-/

Posted by allalone
Hey when i use my payandgo o2 sim and send using a GSM connection i get "user barred". i think i should call them and bitch at them

Posted by Scoobydoo
Guys, 'user barred sounds like a problem at O2 - like they haven't set u up properly. I had this then o2 sorted it for me.

From reading previous posts it sounds like if u r on pay &go type sims u can have mms free??

I'm on a contract & i costs shed loads. (I pay £3 for 10 mms bundle).

Posted by FrankUK
02 are offering free MMS messages till 31st Jan - Dunno if thats just contract - Why not check out http://www.o2.co.uk/mediamessaging/tariffs/0,,165,00.html for more info.

Posted by talbius
@ 24hrs, to be honest m8 i have not even phoned them up, i set up my own settings on my phone and it seems to be turned on, but im not sure if its working or not yet, does gprs need a signal? i have the blue bar over my signal and i can write mms messages but im not sure if i can send or recieve yet.....
