guys i went to sony ericsson service centre and since this phone is very new not available here...they say it will be delayed....
i think SE should first of all put thier phones under a rigerous test condition and see if it breaks under the pressure.....
i am totally blown apart,,,,righjt now...
for the past 4 years...i have used 4 SE phones and none had problems.....
SE please test ur firmware..... and then release the phone...
my contacts, my personal numbers, my pictures...my everthing...
its totally waste to buy such a phone in its early stage...please dont buy these new phones....
let it go for 6-8 months when the firmware becomes stable and then u could buy...

i couldnt be able to do wht u have told.....

one thing i have found is this phone k800 seems to be able to do only with cruiser PRO....and since it cost around 15k...in india...many have delayed it to buy and since se k800 is sooo new....it will take some time for these guys to buy...

I have had the same problem with my K800, red flashes in the IR port. There is no point in you trying the EROM update process as the phone is dead so the software won't see it. I had to send mine to the nearest SE service centre. It was away for 2 weeks, and in the report i got back they stated that it was an EROM fault but that is was beyond ecconomical repair and had to replace the main board. You really need to get it back to the service centre and just hope that they'll do something with it. I wasn't charged for it as it was under warranty and it was a manufacturers fault.

Well, it reminded me. I visited SE service counter several time (for my T68, T610, T630, S700) and basically they said that if your phone is showing problems then you need to upgrade your firmware (or EROM?) ASAP. In case the problem has become worsen, then you risk the phone to be totally broken (and almost beyond repair economically). I got about the same problem with Philips before as well.
I guess draining the battery completely does not give the phone a chance to shutdown properly and that cause problem with EROM/firmware. Still this is confusing because in computer/other devices firmware is very seldom getting corrupted after it is install. The process of upgrading it that is dangerous if interupted.

You do know that a damage erom(blinking infrared) is fixable by us right?
try Woton server, it is not free but does repair you phone with 1 credit, and Kulan's client does repair erom wtih serial cable.
So, there's no need to replace the motherboard or anything.

Perhaps if the EROM has been badly damage then the phone can't be turn on? Still anyone knows why the phone may damage it software? It take a strong jolt/spike/static electric in computer ROM to fail?
Or perhaps because the mobile nature (we take it with us) that the phone is subject to many static electric around us?

Well, if you use cruiser (service) cable I think the phone could get recognized by many applications. Then you can flash your EROM. Also when using service cable, the Da Vinci client for flashing EROM is free.

You shouldn't need to. All i did was to update the erom. I used wotan server. All finished in about 15 secs. Didnt bother updating the firmware (main and fs) as i couldnt be bothered and my phone works fine

I don't know what everyone is on about with Kulan Kendi, but the easiest solution for me was:
Get the USB Flash driver (USB_flash.rar)
Get WotanClient (www.wotanserver.com)
Do not register, buy credits, or fill in login details. Leave username/password blank.
Press and hold the TWO and FIVE (2 and 5) buttons on the numeric keypad on your phone simultaneously and connect the DCU-60 (USB to SE fastport) cable to your phone. Do not let go of the 2 and 5 buttons.
If the USB Flash driver is not yet installed, you will get a new hardware dialog from windows. Point it to the ggsemc.inf file you downloaded.
When the driver installed successfully, press the Start button in WotanClient.
The log should read:

On Kulan-Kendi it says
Error: Read Flash ID.
Both of the programs recognise the phone.
Is it worth me paying for a CID EROM update? What is CID?
Also my phone does not have a blinking LED anymore.
Any help would be much appreciated

What is your old EROM and firmware version? If you have update using SEUS recently to R1GB then your EROM CID is 51 (regardless of EROM ver). Currently no loader can update/flash EROM CID51. You just have to wait until the loader is available again.

SEUS will not show your firmware. Do >*<<*<* and look at software information. Firmware and EROM version will be showed there. Or if you use Kulan client do Read Info and after pressing c on phone, it will read your phone info. Firmware, EROM and CID level will be shown.
You can't update EROM if EROM CID is 51. At least not at the moment.

Well, the driver is the same, IMHO. wotan, kulan all get the driver from EMMA website (SEUS). However, after you plug the phone, you should be able to see it in your computer system properties-Device Manager under USB. You can choose to delete it, or update it then reboot the computer.

Well, when you go to device manager, did you get that unknown device there (under USB). If there is one then you can try right click (mouse) it then go to tab Driver and Update driver there. Or you can just delete it by right click the mouse.
I also found that if you don't take the batt out for few minutes, sometime the computer can not recognised the phone. Try took the batt out for 5 min before trying again.
Or you can delete the USB driver manually if you know what the driver file name.

I\'ve been facing a peculiar problem. I picked up a SE K800i from Singapore and the phone has been working perfectly for about three weeks. Yesterday I checked some pics taken from the phone and then just put the phone away for about an hr. Later when I picked it up the display had completely disappeared. Pressing any key wouldjust bring a white screen and that would just fade away leaveing some vertical black lines. Surprisingly I was still on the network n people could call me. I tried to reboot, but no display only white screen. Sometimes I get on the network... Should I try the same option of upgrading the firmware or is this something different?
Any help here will be very helpful and much appreciated coz I can\'t take it back to Singapore, coz I live in India!

First do NOT do firmware upgrade yet. Try kulan client with kulan/kulan as login/password and click update EROM. Check its manual you need to press 2+5 instead of c for EROM upgrade. Tell me if it fix it.
Or you can use wotan client also free but I don't know how since I can't run it. Do a search here about EROM update! I gotta go now so I can't detail it to you.

I took my phone to the SE service center and got it checked. They were unable to fix it and asked me to send it to Singapore and get a replacement under warranty. So I just got the phone back removed the batt and put it away as I'm not going to Singapore anytime now.
Today I just downloaded Kulan and wanted to check if something shows up... I put the batt back in and started it and surprise!! the phone started and everything worked fine!!
Dunno if removing the batt and leaving the phone for over a day helped?? Don't understand how it corrected itself!! Anyway I was thrilled and happy that I don't have to think of sending it to Singapore or anything (until the next time this happens
Anyway thanks for all the help and advice. I've understood that the SEK800i is not a hassle free phone and can fail you unexpectedly!
