Hey all,
Look, I know its annoying having to explain this to us "newbies" but I really don't want to mess up my w810i. I really want to get the most out of my camera and would like to install one of the modded cam-drivers but quite literally haven't a clue where to start.
1)Which is best for w810i? Sarmad's or the super or whatever else you might recommend.
2)A step by step instruction on downloading. If I need any patches, links to sites and so on....
3)Also, how to install on my phone? step by step

It's something I normally would try to figure out on my own but, again I really don't want to damage my beloved w810i.
My current software version is:CXC1250316 R4EA031
Thank You very much. It is greatly appreciated.

i think EM no need so complicated, just using slow shutter is ok. such
as #CMD(05,01) #CMD(03,01). giving the limite and autoexposure by camera

guys, i will post 6.7.1 today but without config tool. you won't be able to customize driver because code is incompatible with previous version of the tool. i have no time to finish it because tomorrow i must leave and i have some other things to do. damn! end of the year and i'm as always in big hurry and still with unfinished things at the beginning of the new year:(

i wish all of you happy new 2008 year!

camdriver v6.7.1 + config tool v0.5.3
download link a bit below in my signature

config tool is finished, somehow i made it on time

changelog
Code:

driver:
- fix: sometimes incorrect values in saved EXIF parameters (reported by leetiran)
- improve: small correction in EM/ENM calculations for led and no led situations
- improve: compromise in WB and CC settings for led light

selected WB | color correction
--------------------|-------------------
auto | warm (combination of red* and yellow**)
incandescent (cold) | warm (as above)
other (warm) | none (daylight, cloudy, fluorescent are warm)

* - will be applied only if cyan/red is not manually increased by user/profile
** - will be applied only if yellow/blue is not manually increased by user/profile

- improve: stabilized functionality in driver type \"standard + manual focus\"
- macro on -> off = manual focus untouched, zoom can be set and it will not
destroy manual focus
- macro off -> on = zoom untouched, focus can be set but after snapshot zoom
will be x1 because of preview x1/x4 screen switch in manual focus mode

tool:
- improve: functions are recognized by text descripton not by constant #NAME which is much more
flexible solution (unfortunately drivers earlier than 6.7.1 are incompatible)

1. not worth to mention

2. a bit better EM/ENM

3. led settings from 6.7 were good but only if room isn't lighted up with incandescent light source (warm yellow light). this combination produced very yellowish pictures because of fluorescent WB (warm) type used in led settings. led light is cold, that's why i used fluorescent WB (as in original driver) to make it warmer. in any other case, for example in natural light (even low) led color correction was fine. i decided to create much more flexible solution. this time led do not use any own WB settings but only warm color correction if necessary. led settings will cooperate with WB selected in menu - you can try to make led photos with every possible WB and observe results. with this type of settings in room with incandescent light source i can select auto WB and use led light - final color balance will be much better. one more thing, 6.7.1 will not use color correction for led if you change any of colors (cyan/red, yellow/blue) to manual mode (above x1.0). so, for example: you can set any (above x1.0) red correction and this correction will be visible on photo taken with led. simply, you will not lose manual color correction settings, which is very important

4. nothing more to say, everything is described (you can find this solution also in Kriomag 21.93 beta)

this versions of driver & tool are after small facelifting, so, pay attention on potential issues. i hope you'll not find anything for me it works very good

will be back in several days...
cheers everyone and once again happy new year!

yes
"compromise in WB and CC settings for led light"

and only for led this light is cold and without small color correction looks bad on auto and incandescent WB. of course if we are using incandescent WB only in room with very yellow light it's hard to find ideal solution (is this even possible?) but this small change can improve final result. i think this isn't last word in this matter that's why i'm always waiting for suggestions

Sorry but i just wanna ask something... I'm using Andeo's 7.7f with a little mod... I know its kinda obsolete comparing those new drivers out there with CC etc... I wanna know if how to put SPOT PHOTOMETRY on my camdriver? This is the code to enable SPOT right? 06 02 00 01 01 08 #CMD_END... How can i have my camdriver SPOT enabled when i press + (ZOOM 1.1) and when i press - (ZOOM 1.0) it will disable SPOT... Hope someone can teach me... I don't use ENM etc coz i have a MXE-60 flash and i wanna point and shoot kinda cam so i don't want major adjustments... I made to make MXE-60 use 92% compression... Its ok and i'm getting 500kb+ sizes... ^_^

Hi, I'm using your camdriver 6.7.1 with conf.tool and i like it, but i have a noob question: What is ISO and how to set it in your driver, because in configtool i can't find that setting or i need better glasses?

Posted by Vipera ammodytes
set your exposure, ev +0.3. zoom value 2.0 = iso 100 zoom value 2.1 = iso 100. 2.2 = 125, 2.3 = 160, 2.4 = 200 ....

BIG THANKS TO CRONOS555

Ok, understand, but what is this ISO? What does it does? I see there "exposure compensation" is it ISO?!!!

Does today's camera drivers can set ISO and SHUTTER SPEED separately? Let say ISO 100 and 1/15?

When I enable SPOT PHOTOMETRY on my camera driver by writing the code on the SEQ INT does SPOT is use all the time or does it automatically use SPOT when necessary?

And one more thing about CID49 K750i... Have you made it ZOOM at full resolution?

Raiderski and the other modder
I think EM/ENM need not so complicated. just using the CMD03 to set slow shutter limit is ok, such as "#CMD(05,01) #CMD(03,01) #WAIT_FOR_MODE". SET ISO=100, set slow shutter limit=2s, and then autoexpose by the camera itself, so the picture will never be overexposure.

Enhanced Standard Camdriver
different EM/ENM codes. The picture will never be overpexposed.
The other codes are almost all from Raider6.6. so it can work with Raider6.6 configtool0.51.

picture fine quality: Enhanced Mode.
picture fine normal: Standard Mode.
macro mode: full range focus ; spot Light Metering.

Hi! i just wanna ask all the modders something...

06 02 00 01 00 08 #CMD_END <- This code represents SPOT OFF right?

if i change that to 06 02 00 01 01 08 #CMD_END it would be SPOT ON...

If I would put 06 02 00 01 01 08 #CMD_END in the SEQ_INIT... Would SPOT ON be the default and my camera will always use SPOT PHOTOMETRY or will it know when to use CENTER WEIGHT or SPOT PHOTOMETRY? Hope you could answer my questions... Thanks in advance!

Thx for the reply...

Can I ask for a favor? How can I make a standard driver use SPOT ON when I press + key or ZOOM 1.1 and ZOOM 1.0 SPOT OFF... I don't know the coding...

I don't know how to make the driver read the key strokes and assign a key for SPOT ON and OFF...

Raiderski,
Happy New Year!

And a question. Using 6.7.1 in 21.92 style found the problem/bug?.
I am shooting the same scene. WB on AUTO
1. in Macro OFF - i.e. AF - snap OK
2. in Macro ON - i.e. MF - snap OK

But WB is different for both snaps. Seems for 2. WB is more cold.
Any suggestions?

I think using picture fine/normal or macro on/off for spot on/off may be better.
put "06 02 00 01 00 08 #CMD_END" after "seq_set_prop_5_0=", "06 02 00 01 01 08 #CMD_END" after "seq_set_prop_5_1=" make picture normal/ fine for spot off/on

Posted by MarkJason
Ok... I get it now... but what will happen to my NORMAL/FINE more? Do the values I set for NORMAL and FINE mode take effect? and also the MXE-50 comppression? What about if I put it in SET_SEQ_PROP_18? instead of SET_SEQ_PROP_5... what will it do?

it doesnt affect other funtion. I think nothing will happen when put it in SET_SEQ_PROP_18, because SET_SEQ_PROP_18 has no link with camera menue.

version name: 671u
admins of other mirrors: please actualize

Does today's camera drivers can set ISO and SHUTTER SPEED separately? Let say ISO 100 and 1/15?

yes
1. you can set manual shutter speed at any time and final pic always have ISO100
2. ISO100 value from point 1 can be increased with exposure compensation (EV) function because when shutter speed is locked at constant value then EV cannot be changed (that's why ISO is used in this case)

Do the values I set for NORMAL and FINE mode take effect? and also the MXE-50 comppression? What about if I put it in SET_SEQ_PROP_18? instead of SET_SEQ_PROP_5... what will it do?

as leetiran wrote: in SET_SEQ_PROP_18 nothing will happen. if you put spot photometry in selected quality then it will be available always and only in this quality. of course you can put spot on/off everywhere, if you're not using b&w/solarize/sepia/negative effect then maybe this is good place for you?

Tomix
this page will explain you everything:
http://www.megapixel.net/html/articles/article-highiso.php

in practice:
- high ISO photos from our cameraphones are very noised
- low ISO isn't always the best idea (high ISO = shorter exposure time)

leetiran
thx. i will check your idea, some free time is required

679
time gap between shot 1 and 2 for auto WB is very important. auto WB is trying to stabilize colors for selected scene which can take some seconds. macro on/off switch probably has nothing to do with this. you can try this:

1. open camera
2. select macro on/off
3. wait some seconds for auto WB stabilization
4. snap
5. macro state switch
6. snap

compare pics

Hi radier

i got 1/5 shutter speed in this picture but i dont know how, i didnt turned on night mode... does exposure have diferent shutter speed at zoom 4.0??
i tried few times but i cant get 1/5, i only got 1/8 and 1/10

is there any way for 1/5 shutter speed without night mode? slow screen preview is not really good.(night mode plus shutter speed +0.7 at 2.1 zoom)

thanks

@ Leetiran and Raiderski - Thanks for answering my questions... But the NORMAL and FINE thing is not yet clear for me... If I put

SET_SEQ_PROP_5_0 = 06 02 00 01 00 08 #CMD_END
SET_SEQ_PROP_5_1 = 06 02 00 01 01 08 #CMD_END

How about this? Does this still affect the NORMAL/FINE compression?

ok if my idea is ok, i think maybe you can add the iso and slowshutter funtions. slowshutter funtion neednt too many values, just giving 2s,1s,1/2s,1/5s is ok, and neednt preview, just apply it in taking picture. And maybe EM/ENM also can be out of shutterspeed1.1 into slowshutter funtions1.1.

full range focus=normal focus+macro focus

Posted by MarkJason
So what can you say about full range focus? is it better than normal focus? Is there a way to speed up the focus when in night mode and not affecting the other?

Posted by pram_zx
@Mark Jason
Full Range Focus mean you have auto focus from Infinity to macro, not only macro that can focus only from 10-40 cm.

Just Try Raiderski Driver !!!, you will not meet slow auto focus on viewfinder(except you press half shutter once before take the picture)

Posted by MarkJason
So its better to have NORMAL FOCUS rather than FULL RANGE? Their drivers are great... Many new features and stuffs but I don't like the ENM... I have a MXE-60 Flash so basically I only need a camera driver that's good on outside shots (CLEAR, SHARP and FAST ) and will sync with my MXE-60...
