Thank you raiderski for your new driver...
I just added effects like sepia and more and it works fine also in config tool.

But one question: What compression do you think will help for better pictures? 85% or 90% or 95% ?? My CID49 K750i with CID 36 cam manages all - I mostly shoot landscapes and city scenes...

Randolph

95%, which gives clearer more natural pictures.

i can write many words but you can check this yourself:

1. set compression to max (95%)
2. make some shots of landscape and city
3. download JPEGsnoop (http://www.impulseadventure.com/photo/jpeg-snoop.html)
4. examine "Marker DQT" section in every shots

4.1. look for "Approx quality factor =" value
4.2 write values from all shots on the paper or in txt file

quality value is right here:

5. when you finish look at values... are they interesting/surprising?

share those values on forum and i will tell you how to interpret them
i hope that result of this test (with your help) will be the final conclusion of compression topic

if someone is interested too then please join to this test and give us your results and phone model!

95%, which gives clearer more natural pictures.

yeah right especially on our small pitty 2MP/3MP sensors
so... proofes, proofes, proofes and one more time: proofes if you want to be accurate

not sure if it's the same for the k750/w800i but heres the proof for k800i

i had some very interesting results on my k800i, using the standard driver which with compression at 90% i have got a couple 95% compressed pics,
in my k800i pic collection i've seen everything from 76%-96%, mainly 90%-96%

Where is sarmad?
Is it true that sarmad has release sarmad 5.9?
bcos what I know, the latest sarmad driver is sarmad 5.8.
I know this from se-nse, but I can't found the driver

Approx quality factor = 95.14 (scaling=9.72 variance=1.21)

But what mean realy "filtering" in the config tool? How does it affect picture quality? As noise filter might lose some details...??

@whatsucka
With your pictures, if you had changed the shutter speed or exposure to 1.7, the pictures would have been clearer (not blurry). Hope this experience helps.

@everyone: I tried tommymar's mod driver and it is as good as lpachuong's driver. Has anyone tried it? I have one small problem with it but not sure it's bcz of my phone or it's bcz of the driver. Hope everyone share your point of view about this driver. Cheer.

the pics r blur becuse people r moving... and the blur moon pic because is freezing cold when i was holding it..

anyway i forgot which one EV is Speed shutter, -0.3, 0.3 or 1.0??

Hell-o!

Im reading last 200 pages and im so impressed, so many great modders. Raiderski now i look so Lame compare to You You become a true master.
I dont know if i should release another 'normal' driver, it will look so lame compare to your :/

In last few days i've tried to remember how to mod drivers
At this moment i have 21.93 beta - very similar to 21.91, minor changes.

W810 users
two questions:

1. do you have any problems with manual contrast in my driver?
2. did you have any problems with manual contrast in previous versions of my driver?

pram_zx
maybe this was beta project, i don't know nothing about this

markztrance
i hope not it would be nice to see someone new with fresh mind and new ideas

Randolph
as you may notice your phone can handle 95% but i cannot say: "set 95% and enjoy" because you aren't W810 owner. compression process is dynamic - you can set 95% but your photos can have 50-95% (no matter of phone model). everything depends on:

1. scene details
2. scene colors (green color has critical influence due to Bayer filter used in sensor)
3. 600kb file size limit in our (W800/K750) phones

complicated? maybe yes, maybe not i don't want to boring you. i'm using max 90% quality mainly because of stability issues:

1. even 87% sometimes was too big problem for my phone and then...
2. i found the key to stability. i checked this with 95% quality. test was very good and showed me what should i expect: a bit of ~94-95%, much more 91%, some shots 70-85% (lowest values in forest) - overall 50 shots and only 1 crash. i asked myself:

why should i use 95%? why should i force my camera to do something which is too difficult task for it?

3. i released 6.6 with improved stability
4. currently 90% isn't problem - 2MP shots are very nice and finally i don't have crashes (this damn 600kb limit)

so... use 90% and you will be satisfied enough

conclusion for all:
1. if you have K750/W800 use 90%
2. if you have W810 use 94-95%

filtering is used mainly to interpolate pixels when digital zoom is used:

cropped shot with zoom x4, left: filtering disabled, right = filtering enabled

another task is to eliminate a bit of noise (everyone: a bit! please don't start discussion about this) but also has a bit bad influence on sharpness. filtering is useful in night or in weak light conditions but useless in good light conditions. that's why in the config tool you can find option "Image filtering: only in EM, night mode" (which is default value in my driver)

my mistake was disabling filtering (pixel interpolation) no matter of digital zoom state. for now filtering is enabled everytime if zoom value is higher than x1.0 - on image above: left = driver 6.6, right = driver 6.7 (in final tests stage)

Kriomag
welcome back! well... you know... too much free time i hope you will stay with us. nie wiem czy wiesz ale spora czesc ludzi w naszym ukochanym kraju zatrzymala sie na 21.9(1), zreszta mysle ze w innych zakatkach swiata jest podobnie wiec nie boj nic, bo masz spora grupe ludzi ktorzy na wiadomosc "21.93 final" lub inne podobne odruchowo uruchomia FARa

contrast works fine for me, always has.

for the record i use 95% max quality settings on my w810. i may get 1 crash in 100 shots. it is very reliable at 95% quality setting. i set this in Raider's cam config tool. biggest file size i have achieved with this setting is around 780kb.

Posted by Raiderski
cronos555
for W810 and for 95% i used this file size rules:
average = 680kb, maximum = 750kb

what is your opinion about this? i should set max value at highest possible file size but i don't know how much W810 can handle. any suggestions?

Posted by cronos555
@Raiderski

you can try higher sizes - i don't mind testing the driver for you...

Posted by pram_zx
@Raiderski
1. NO
2. NO
Contras, Exposure, Shutter Speed Work Fine on my W810 even v6.5 or v6.6
I will post contrast pict with your latest cam driver v6.6.1

Posted by pram_zx
@Raiderski
I dunno why on aabg w810 doesnt work

@aabg
even on previous Raiderski cam driver it doesnt work right?
thats strange...opposite with mine?

Posted by pram_zx
Here you go...
Raiderski v6.6.1 with my W810i

Contras set to 1.1

And this...Contras set to 4.0

Posted by aabg
maybe is the CID factor, i have CID50 maybe is that im not sure
cronoss, pram_zx wich cid do you have?

look:

1.0

1.1

4.0

Hi Moders,
Is it possible to enhance the size of the pix taken with panoramic shoot.
Look to small for me. Sometimes pix in panoramic mod worth a thousand words.

Thanks in advance.

Posted by cronos555
my w810 is cid49

Posted by Raiderski
cronos555 reported me that leetiran ISO100 mod used in manual shutter speed control cannot remember manual color correction (cyan/red, yellow/blue) settings. i fully confirmed this (in 6.6.1 changelog) and involved on "known issues" list. now i see that it won't remember white balance too (no matter of shutter speed state) even if you switch it in camera menu. affected are 6.6.1 and (probably) other leetiran mods. of course mod will stay in driver, we cannot consider this as bug. i only have to do some changes in code construction and everything will be fine

aabg
i cannot say what is wrong this looks like firmware for CID50 is unable to change contrast (i know, this sounds like joke)

jangjr
no, but the best idea is to do some single shots and then use special software for PC to join all shots together. i heard about Hugin (free, open source) which in professionals opinions (quite interesting) is the best

Posted by Mr.Kája
I tried 6.6.1, and I guess thx iso100, pictures are quite too darker with manual shutter and inside, I have to choose night mode as a help...and quality looks the same for me.

Posted by jangjr
@Raidersky
thanks for the response.. 'll try to do as adviced.
I'll try googling for the hugin hope it works fine for me.

Cheerz..

Posted by Vidmaiz
Sorry, But I'm a little of n00b, and I don't understand how I can insert these draives into my phone. Can anyone do to me Instruction? Please.. I very need it... :| I Tried everything..

Posted by SPU
Raiderski
Hugin is not the best (may be only in open source sector) and if you really want to use it, you need to do everything manually and after all stitch processed pictures with smartblend (this is a standalone console utility).

IMHO, one of the best (by quality and accuracy) panorama software is Autopano Pro ( http://www.autopano.net/ ).

Posted by Randolph
@Raiderski: in your driver 6.6.1 it seems that the cameras internal several white balance settings do not work. Thy can be chosen in the cameras menu, but they do not change the visible picture and they do not affect the saved pictures.
Have I misses something? Is this a bug or a feature...
I like them because I do often indoor shots during the last time...
Is there a way to bring back this functionality?
kind regards,
Randolph

Hello people.

I am an average user, non specialized photographer or anything. I have tested many HIBRID mode and SUPER mode camdrivers, and they do amazing things, but pretty complicated for the average guy (me and probably others)

I was wondering if someone could make an IMPROVED NORMAL DRIVER (K750/w800) with the normal usability of the standard camdriver, BUT the improvements of the best drivers out there (Sharpness/compression/quickness in response/....)

I know it is better learning to use the advanced drivers, but, for general purpose shoots, i think this should be good as well.

PS. Hope someone still cares about W800 drivers, and not just the newer models.

Thanks in advance

my driver can be switched (in config tool for PC) between 2 modes: standard and supermode. standard mode is exactly this what are you looking for: all quality improvements + features of standard SE driver + AE lock at half pressed snapshot key, nothing more. i suggest you to wait for version 6.7 with a few fixes, i need 1-2 days to finish work. in 6.7 will be available 3rd mode in which you can add manual focus control to standard driver mode - if you're familiar with Kriomag/Sarmad drivers then you will like this mode

@leetiran
Hi, these 2 days I had been testing Raiderski 6.6 modded by you (hybrid raider 6.6).
I like the idea to be full controlled of ISO and shutter speed.
Besides of what you said in your notes which 'ISO was locked to be 100 for any values of manual shutter speed', I also noticed from photos EXIF that EM (shutter value at position 1.1) was locked to ISO100 at 1/2s. Am I right mate?
No need any longer time for me to found out this settings not too suitable for me
If possible, I want to request you some tweakings. And my point is: I do not mind to compromise with a little noise for a faster shutter speed. And I think ISO160 at 1/4s would be nice. For me, the ideal photos taking time shouldn't longer than K750's standard shutter sound (faster is much better if possible).

Btw, I also found out in your mods sharpness was set to 4. So far I knew the standard sharpness was 6 for K750/W800 and 5 for W810 (correct me if I'm wrong). So I just want to know your reasons why did you change it to 4. You points of view would be a good input for me.
Okay, that's all I just want to say. Any responses from everyone would be highly appreciated.

Thank you

P.S: No need to be in hurry. Just do it in your spare time. I'll be patient to waiting.

P.S.S: Sorry for my poor English. I'm Indonesian.

Welcome back, lpachuong. Your driver A4A is still my favourite. Look like everyone has come back for this topic.

hi everyone
i've compared cam modules - cid36 and cid49
there are some photos:

cid49

cid36

cid49

cid36

cid49

cid36

all photos was made using Raiderski 6.6.1 - one of the best camdriver in my opinion
i think cid36 photos are better, the most difference is in colours - cid36 colours are more natural and have less noise
i have a question:
can i change cam modules between cid49 and cid36 phones?
if i change it will cid49 phone with cid36 cam module make better shots?
