I forgot to mention this: I havent tested the driver under whitelight condition so wrong flicker can make the phone crash. And I wonder: Will 93% make the phone crash at forest scences?

currently am testing ur 0.93 t2

very nice colours and sharpness even in low light, but it's taking long time to save and the compresssion is too high i think, it's crashing too many times

Once i got the file size of "626KB", this is the highest file size ever had in my K750i cid49, first time was with SPU 1.9 b9 around "625KB"

[ This Message was edited by: jdthegr8kd on 2007-10-07 19:09 ]

His compression is just at 85% and it doesn't relating to SPU's code. The problem you got crashes is bcz he set up very high Max,Min, Avg values.

@lpachuong: WoW. Thank you for your great efforts.

sorry u misunderstood

twotimes i got the highest file sizes in my phone i.e., more than 625kb the first one with SPU 1.3 and the second one with darkmagician 0.93 t3

First of all, I would like to say thank you to Sombra, xxdjrerunxx
, terminator, tommymars, wickedsick and dcaffeine8d
for testing my driver and PM me the original pictures. From your comments I have fixed the compression problems and now I can say compression is 99.99% no crash

About A4A-9.0:

For cid49 (k750i/w800i):
-------New sharpness value
-------New compression: Min 93%, Max 95%
-------New colour profile: I hope those who like real colour more than enhanced colour will be please with this driver
-------Brightness: 00 for EM on, 01 for EM off
For cid36 (w800i/d750i/k750i): (I still haven't received any replies from these phones)
-------New compression: Min 93% Max 95%
For w810i:
------Sharpness 06
------Same rules for brightness and compression: if the size of the pictures is not as big as 8.5, please report me so that I will ignore the new method for w810i. However, I hope the new rule will save pictures quicker.
------Yellowish is removed: I set up wrong CC in 8.9 by mistake

• Supermode with functions as shown below:
EV:
o -2.0: Change GREEN
o -1.7: Change MAGENTA
o -1.3: Change blue
o -1.0: Change yellow
o -0.7: change zoom
o -0.3: change iso ( In video mode: Change FPS )
o 0.0: focus: 1.0 auto 1.1 infinitive 1.2-4.0 ( you can set up focus infinity then choose zoom for zoom+infinity now )
o +0.3: change exposure: used for reducing overexposure
o +0.7: light metering/spot: 1.0 - no spot 1.1 spot on
o +1.0: change shutter speed (1/5000' - 1/6' with daylight, 1/5 to 2' or more at night/low light)
o +1.3: change flicker(refresh rate 50hz/60hz)
o +1.7: Change scene: 1.0: normal ,1.1 Portrait,1.2 Landscape,1.3 Nightportrait,1.4 Nightscene,1.5 sports,1.6 Beach/snow, 1.7 Document,1.8 Manual Exposure Scene.
o +2.0: Profile
ZOOM 1.1: reduce overexposure cases for indoor
ZOOM 1.2: for taking pictures of buildings at long distance with contrast=02
ZOOM 1.3: close-up shot
ZOOM 1.4-1.6: different colour profile. If you get blueish/yellowish pictures then change the colour profile for correct colour

Now I am really happy with the compression. Finally I can manage it. It is quite difficult. Other modders if you want to use the code, please pay attention to these from my driver:

R_J_V - R_Q_V - E_E_F - Prop_5_1 - ss_verify

Hope everyone enjoy it and I am waiting for your test.
Wish you all have a lovely evening

I have to do homework now
Thank you for reading this

PS:
@terminator: hope you will please with it
@xxdjrerunxx: maybe this one can improve the quality of the pictures to Pissca's quality.
@tommymars: My pleasure

Again i would love to thank you for your time you've taken to create these amazing drivers. I'll soon load it onto my phone and take some pictures.

Great work, lpachuong. There has been no crash so far. Tested on w800i cid49 and w810i. File size is around 550-607kb whereas it is around 550-700kb The quality seems to be improved with true real colour. Thank you so much.

I did a few tests of A4A-9.0 on my CID-36 k750@W800 phone:

Thanks for the new driver!

Posted by lpachuong
First of all, thank you for testing 9.0. To be honest, I dont have MXE-60 to test it so my driver will be a big problem for you. Have you tried it with macro off in normal quality? I hope it will sync better. About exposure, if you get overexposure for indoor pictures, you can try with EV +2.0, zoom 1.1 for indoor profile. Hope these can help you

Hi,

It helped indeed. I was testing with EM On (High Quality), silly me... Disabled EM and it's taking pics with MXE-60 in perfect sync. Great! I set sharpness to 0 (I prefer to sharpen later after removing excessive noise using software), pics looks great.

hi ~
I tried A4A 9.0 drive,Use W810 shooting and found there are some problems

marco + night file size 617kb

night + change exposure(2.0) + manual focus file size 45.9kb
Why would become like this?

I tried out your driver and i have to say your latest driver is the greatest. The colours really do come closer to Picasa quality than any other driver has been. The colours are amazing ! No true need for autofix anymore. Great work keep it up ! Will post pictures tommorow.

I Agree. I hit autocolor in Picasa and almost nothing changes, colors are already great.
BTW, if you like post processing, try my tecnique setting sharpness zero in driver and later removing noise in Neat Image and sharpening. The results are amazing for night shows or shot with MXE-60, by tweaking the parameters you can remove most noise while keeping the detail.
Here's some samples, click on the images to see then at full size.

Free Image Hosting at <!-- BBCode auto-link start --><a href=http://www.ImageShack.us" />

Most images look OK when you see fullscreen at 1024x768, but when you see it at real size they're plaged with noise. This method really helps a lot.

The samples above were taken with Radersky 6.6, with noise removed and sharpened by Neat Image and some color/contrast adjust by Picasa

It's a "bug" in camera module... this happens when "adaptive" compression is used with a very long exposure times. In my last (and very old =)) driver this issue is fixed... simply falling back to the "classic" compression algorithm.
May be lpachuong will do the same in his driver.

To all developers
Can anybody say what exactly registers 22, 23 contains? I know that this is the light conditions, but what is this really: exposure value, persents of gray or what else? Do you know any formula? And what about the range of this values?

P.S. I'll continue the development in november.

Are you sure. I just tested every A4A under EM off or EM On. they have very big exposure time on my W810i and i dont get the picture i need.
I am pretty sure abt that. I have not checked with A4A 9.0.

WOW!

Excellent driver, very good colors (now really true colors in EM On), but apparently exist a compression problem with yellow/orange objects focused (in manual or autofocus). Quality is very poor:

Macro mode - Manual Focus (5 shots taked, all with same problem)

Other photos taked perfectly in various objects with different colors in same configuration.

Sorry for my poor english.

In very low light conditions please switch your mode over to normal mode to eliminate blurs, and the long exposure time. This is common with all when the compression rate is high. Not a problem with me i find it well worth it.

Hello everyone. Thank you for your reports. I think I know the reason why but I am not sure. Could you please reply the answer of this question: Are the small size pictures (45-60kb) taken with infinity focus + other functions? If yes please tell me. Thank You.

SPU: Thank you for code. With it I finally found out the solution for my problem. I know the problem maybe the sync btw EM on and compression but I have tried to fix it and I will keep fixing it as it is useful. We are also waiting for your new driver. And how about your study? Wish you get good results as you want.

I don't recieve that problem at all with EM on and ENM on aswell at very very low light condition (dark room) my pictures come out at 641kb using a w810i cid50 phone.

To be honest. I dont have these problems. I have checked the code and what concerns me is the code for infinity+zoom. But it is fine. I will test more and will post the fix if I encounter the problems.

It is caused by infinity focus + night mode. The pic size is cca 40kB

O i get it now, however no problem for me since i don't find it any use at the moment.

As I guessed, the problem is about the infinity focus not about the compression. Here is the fix.

A4A - 9.1
http://www.mediafire.com/?cbold7uyyyb

-I hope this can fix the problem we encounter in 9.0 version.
-Exposure time is reduced a little bit but I hope it still reduces noise and is long enough.
-I also hope colour with led is fine now.

I'm waiting for your replies I really appreciate your helps. Thank you and hope you have a lovely evening (It is still a long way before the weekend )

Hey is the compression rate the same as the one in version 9.0 for the w810i?

Posted by lpachuong
Yes it is. I just change the focus and prop_a and exposure time. Please help me check the problem in 9.0 as I just tested normal scenes and I dont have much time and I am quite tired. I will be here for more than 10mins for your replies then I will go to bed. Thank you.

@lpachuong
a long time to talk you anyway tell me one way if you know how to get
more sharpness in code

Posted by lpachuong
I am not sure about that, strong. Sharpness is decided by the hardward and the firmware where driver just gives the certain value for firmware to produce the final pictures. One of the method I think about is to setup different contrast/brightness combination so that the you can see more detail between dark/light and this may effect your feeling of sharpness. (exposure also plays an important role as good light also make nice pictures). Hope this can help you. I think my master may have more opinions about this. I miss you, master

OK thanks Iam looking one way to decrease time of shot in enchanced mode but without lose quality couse many user wants faster shots

Posted by lpachuong
Me too. However, it seems to be hopeless for our phones. The other cameras can get fast shtter speed+good exposure at the same time but our cameras can't.But, as I said, I am happy with the price and the quality of my k750i cid49. Btw, I go to bed now, see everyone tomorrow and good night.

Same issue here with EM. I have a W800 CID36.
MXE-60 is working fine in Normal mode.

I'm not receiving these problems on my W810i just to confirm. Took 8 pictures today for thanksgiving, all came out wonderful. And was all taken in both low light and high light modes with em on for all shots.

Edit: since i viewed my pics on my comp all of them were a wreck =( everyone of them came out blurry. EM mode isn't worth the trouble. EM mode is only good for outside not at all good for inside shots when your taking pictures of people cause even though you might have great lighting in your house the pictures will all come out blurry since every human will have to move the slightest bit and doing so will cause blurs. I suggest that if your taking shots indoors use normal mode so you won't have to worry about this hassle. If your camera is rest on a table and your taking pictures of just things in your house not people them EM mode might be worth the shot, right now I'm just going to stick will all my shots at normal mode so i don't have this unfortunate problem in the future again. Just a little hint so those know what they can expect. All in all great driver, I'm just going to stick with my indoor shots with normal mode and just use a noise program to eliminate noise.

Cheers

For indoor pictures of people, I highly recommend MXE-60. It's an external flash you connect in the bottom of the phone. Pictures come out much better, and if you denoise them the result is really close to a stand-alone camera. I took some shots to show, please notice that I always mod the driver with sharpness=0 to denoise later:
Using Normal Mode:
Free Image Hosting at <!-- BBCode auto-link start --><a href=http://www.ImageShack.us" />

Using Photo Led:
Free Image Hosting at <!-- BBCode auto-link start --><a href=http://www.ImageShack.us" />

Using MXE-60:
Free Image Hosting at <!-- BBCode auto-link start --><a href=http://www.ImageShack.us" />

You can pic MXE-60 on ebay for about $12 with shipping included. It's really worth it if you take a lot of "night/indoor people shots"

Yea i agree 100% with you right after i seen these pictures i was looking around at the MXE-60 it seemed pretty nice from the reviews and the picture difference from built in led and night mode and just the flash it seems like it's perfectly worth it. So tomorrow I'm going to pick my self up one, thanks a lot for your help take care. A4A 9.1 is still amazing great job keep it up the quality of the pictures on the other hand is just utterly incredible. Thnx once again everyone for all your help.

No problem.
Just for you to know what quality it's possible to achive using MXE-60 and post-processing, check this:
Free Image Hosting at <!-- BBCode auto-link start --><a href=www.ImageShack.us" />

I took the MXE-60 pic above and denoised/sharpened using Neat Image and improved colors and contrast using Google Picasa.

Nice one do you know which person i should buy off of ebay canada ?

I bought from this person:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ORIGINAL-[....]QQcategoryZ41313QQcmdZViewItem

I live in Brazil, the flash arrived in less than 20 days. They ship fast but take a long while to reply emails. Later I bought another one from this seller:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Original-[....]5QQcategoryZ3311QQcmdZViewItem
This one I am still waiting to get here but I have a tracking number so I lknow the product has been mailed.
