thnx a lot..
Hello everyone. It is nice to see this topic is back to life
@Terminator: Thank you terminator for your test. I wonder in what cases do you find it is slowlier? If it is for indoor shot then it is not bcz of the compression but it is bcz of the EM.
I thought saving process might be quicker than 8.4 but I forgot that I increased the compression to 98% so it will be the same as the speed of 95%
Hope you enjoy it

Hello everyone. How are you today? I am sorry for my late replies because my computer was down. However, I manage to create new drivers for k750i and w810i.
This time, you will see the quality on both k750i and w810i are improved. However, compression of k750i is lowered to 94% and w810i is increased to 98%. W810i now can create better compression but it will save quicker. Hope you all enjoy and I'm waiting for your new comments.
Best wishes.
Good work!!To start the tests now

@SPU - I love the java Exif reader. Been looking for this for ages. Can't wait for you to get back to driver modding!!

Thanks for the info, I'll fix the reference card.
I have bought the MXE-60 external flash, and because it disables the EV functions, I used the config tool option to move EM mode to Picture Quality Fine (normal mode is Picture Quality Normal). Is it recommended to use EM mode with MXE-60 or no?

Some interesting findings regarding low light/noise:
I have been using Neat Image to remove noise togheter with K750 profile that can be also downloaded here:
http://www.neatimage.com/
Problem is, images would never be as good as I wished. I love Ridersky driver but at low light it didn't look good. After some research, I found that the problem is the sharpness setting. Sharpening the image in good light condition is great. But when you sharpen low light, noisy images, you get a even noiser and unnatural image that can't be fixed without looking artifical. So this is what I did: dropped Sharpness to 0 in Ridersky driver, and did the post processing in Neat Image, sharpening after the noise is removed. Results were amazing. I'll show some samples, using the same photo taken with sharpness 6 and sharpness 0 and post-processed.
First the original shot, sharpness 6:

Now this same shot, with noise reduction by Neat Image:

Notice how the image looks unnatural.
Now let's check the same picture, but with sharpness 0:

Notice that it looks better than both the original sharpness 6 image and the Neat image processed above.
And finally the image filtered and sharpened with Neat Image, looking perfect IMHO:

OBS: All images were taken in 1600x1224 resolution and cropped, but not resized.
Conclusion: camera sharpness ruins the image in low ligth situations, i.e. when there's a lot of noise. It's better to keep it disabled, and do it later by software, after noise removal is needed.
EDIT: There was I typo "First the original shot, sharpness 6" (not zero)

Good evening everyone.
It is nice to see this thread is busy and everyone are also busy testing the new drivers from strong, lengthstreet and jonaugust. I also have finished a new driver and this time it has great changes. Here are the changes:
-----------------
- Compression rule: Compression rule is now totally broken and there will be no crash 100%. You can even play with 100% compression on your phone. However, I will set it to only 98% for maximum for all phones. The rule is broken bcz if the camera can't save the pictures at lvl 98%, it will save the pictures at lvl 94%. If i set 100% as default, the phone may save at only 94% so 98% is better. I think you aslo played with 98% from 8.5 Test 1.
- Colour-sharpness-saturation: w800i/w810i are lucky to have good quality but k750i/w800i cid49 are not. Therefore, the new driver will make you feel please with the compition btw these phones. WB will be no longer a big problem.
- EM: there will be definition of EM on/off on my next driver. Exposure time and ISO will work together better than before, so there will be fewer overexposure cases. ( I hope there will be no more overexposure cases)
- Zoom + Infitity focus: it is now available, terminator
I know it may be too early for you to listen to my comments rather than your comments. I will wait until the temperature today lowers down and I will post my driver next 8 hours (so that I have more time to test it). This time, if you have a digital camera, please compare ur phone with it.
Best wishes to everyone.

@Milu
It's blurry due to the noise reduction, but it's possible to increase sharpness more (I don't like too sharp pictures). Photos 1 and 2 really have more sharpness, but look too artificial to my eyes because noise is too sharp...
@Raiderski
I used driver 6.6 and MXE-60 flash. EM mode enabled using picture quality option. I have a CID36 K750@W800 R1BC002. PIC 1 was with original driver (just changed to enable EM via picture quality fine) . PIC3 I also changed Sharpness=0.

probably MXE-60 is messing a lot. it's hard to say how EM behave with enabled MXE. first of all: can you post link to original pics 1 and 3?

A4A-8.8 - All in One [New code - Test 1]
http://www.mediafire.com/?2be9mbe2ykm
Hello everyone. Here comes A4A-8.8. In this version, I created the driver for 3 modules. Because I don't have much free time to test it so I put them together. There may be some minor problem but as it is based on the new code, I hope everyone can help me find out bugs and problems. Thank you.
When you test it, please tell me:
- Your camera module: cid49/cid36/w810i
- If you have w810i, please tell me the size of the pictures and its ISO (80 or 100)
- If you have k750/w800 cid49, please make some comments on the colours and sharpness
- Do you get crash or not? Because the is the first test, I setup highest compression is 98% and lowest compression is 94% so there maybe crash. If there is no crash then the compression is good then.
------------------------
- Zoom + infinity focus is available now
- Video recorder is smoother than 8.5
- Always use fine-quality
- Macro off for normal focus
- Macro on for enhanced focus (like before but from zoom 1.1, viewfinder will be zoomed in)
- EM is always on
------------------------
Hope you enjoy it and I am waiting for your comments.
Actually, about the compression, I based on SPU's compression method and make some changes to improve it to make it suitable with my driver (As I used Raiderski's Profile Code as my pre-defined profiles). Anyways, thank you SPU and Raiderski and friends here.

I'm testing your 8.8 driver. Is this driver base on SPU all code?
Because I can use every function from SPU eg. change to SM(Super Mode) by press <<**>>, AE Lock by press ><>< ,and manual focus preview when macro on, etc.
what are different about your 8.8 and SPU? Can you make instruction for use your 8.8, please? Thank you.
sorry for my bad english.

Good morning everyone.
Yes, as I told, I used some codes from SPU in this driver because of his brilliant code of compression. In other to make it work, the structure must be consistent so I aslo intergrated some other codes as well. The most significant different btw my and his is the EM. If you take pictures btw my and SPU you can see the differences for sure. Supermode/AE-locked are also changed so that it is convenient for you to record better video. In my old version, if you record the video, AE will be locked immediately after the beep and this is not good. I think chengrong's method is better. In brief, you can say that it is the combination of archievements from different drivers. I dont care whether which codes are from whom , bcz I just think about the final quality and it will be good in that way. I already gave creadits to Raiderski, SPU and myself. Therefore, this driver is totally different from SPU's driver. You can check and compare it by yourself. YOur sincerely.
@dukempg: did you get crash with MXE-60. I forgot to mention that bcz of the high compression in the second step, MXE-60 may not work in some cases and also my driver has EM On. 8.8 is not created for MXE-60 bcz if it is decided for MXE-60, the second compression will be lowered to 50%. If the phone is setup at 98% and get crashes, the pictures will be save at 50% and this is very bad.
@pkstep: the function on this driver is the same as the others drivers:
• Supermode with functions as shown below:
EV:
o -2.0: Change GREEN
o -1.7: Change MAGENTA
o -1.3: Change blue
o -1.0: Change yellow
o -0.7: change zoom
o -0.3: change iso
o 0.0: focus: 1.0 auto 1.1 infinitive 1.2-4.0
o +0.3: change exposure: EM/ENM is ready. read exposure information below.
o +0.7: light metering/spot: 1.0 - no spot 1.1 spot on
o +1.0: change shutter speed (1/5000' - 1/6' with daylight, 1/5 to 2' or more at night/low light)
o +1.3: change flicker(refresh rate 50hz/60hz)
o +1.7: Change scene: 1.0: normal ,1.1 Portrait,1.2 Landscape,1.3 Nightportrait,1.4 Nightscene,1.5 sports,1.6 Beach/snow, 1.7 Document,1.8 Manual Exposure Scene.
o +2.0: Profile
ZOOM 1.1: reduce overexposure cases for indoor
ZOOM 1.2: for taking pictures of buildings at long distance with contrast=02
ZOOM 1.3: close-up shot
ZOOM 1.4-1.6: different colour profile. If you get blueish/yellowish pictures then change the colour profile for correct colour
ZOOM 1.7: max zoom for infinity shot.
AE lock and Supermode off is the same ><>< and <<**>> respectively.
Please remember to use Fine-Quality.
---------------------
Again, here is how the compression works: First, the camera will take the snap shot and start saving at 98% compression. If the files are out of the limitation of compression, the phone wont crash but it will save pictures at lvl 94%. (As this is the first test, I set highest lower-boundary at 94% and may get crash).
Whosever successful codes they are, as long as I give credits for those people on my drivers, we will have some things good to use. If we just keep our own creation without developing from other success then we will never improve. I think this is also how this world is developed.
I have to go to school so I will try to be online as soon as possible.
Have a nice day.

Great work lpachuong. Your drivers always does the job in daylight shots . Night shots are the biggest problem, because of the very slow shutter speed. I am happy with your 8.4. I will try your 8.8 especially the night shots, and i will tell the results. Thanks man. Then how is your studies going on.

Hey buddy, are you still here?
Today after small modifying 6.6 I installed it into my phone.
Some tips:
WB for pics with led will have much more real colours with adding WB_LED_SET=#CMD(11,04);
I am very disappointed with exposure compensation
One question: What is the real difference between adjusting EV comp. and Brightness? Is it the same?
All other things are absolutely OK. Thanks!

Yes, it crashed with MXE-60 at quality Normal, Quality Fine it didn't crash but the picture was taken out of sync with the flash so it came out dark. Well too bad it can't be designed to work with MXE-60

I like your 8.8 because your 8.8 have EM while SPU1.3b9 don't have. My point is your should add SPU instruction in your 8.8 instruction for who never use SPU1.3 before.

All pictures are taken with Fine mode on (EM) the iso on these files are 80 however i would like to know if the possibility of 100 is there ?. Anyways great driver keep up the great work.

... And this one is mine
Don't remember which driver, maybe A4A 7.5 , not sure, but it was A4A, that's pretty sure.

actually MXE-60 and EM combo will fail because of fact that MXE is always forcing constant values of ISO (200) and probably constant value of shutter speed (1/15s)
Tuner
forcing led with WB 04 value is good only in some situations, that's why i decided to leave led settings in neutral state, besides:
- forcing will distort WB setting selected in camera menu
- forcing will distort WB settings defined in profiles (if selected)
if i put EV on joy keys then functions change will be impossible, so i can't do this in any other way than function under EV +0.3. i never liked combinations like behaviour1 without macro mode and behaviour2 with macro mode. why to complicate?
EV - controls exposure time (longer = brightest), parameter used before postprocessing
brightness - affect on contrast and brightness together, parameter used for postprocessing
looks like both are doing the same effect but this is not true

what about my proposition from page 467?

@Ridersky
You're right. I tested EM on with MXE-60 and got a very overexposed picture...
Could you give me more details about EM and ENM modes? I've read the readme and it only says that it's a special mode for low light, but doesn't mention technical info like: does it use a fixed ISO? Does it use special filtering? Shutter speed is fixed or not? I would like to know this informations if possible...

Hello everyone. How are you today?
The fixes for A4A-8.8 will be released at this weekend. Sorry for that inconvenience
@xxdjrerunxx: thank you for testing with my driver
Wish you have a nice day.

1. in most cases ISO value is 100, sometimes can be higher
2. filtering is always enabled because long exposure time generate a lot of chroma noise which have to be removed
3. shutter speed value is exactly this what EM algorithm is trying to calculate (from AutoExposure value) to get low ISO value. from AE value we know how much light reach the sensor. if light amount is low then shutter speed must be slow to collect more "data"

@Raiderski
Thanks for the info. I really like your driver, pictures come out great. I only disabled sharpness (SHARPNESS=0) because prefer to remove noise and sharpen later. I've done some modifications but surprisingly the default settings still look better.
