chengrong did an impressive camdriver,8.53. but I guess this is the trade-off for getting a very good night shot. the subject and our hands must be very still for a few seconds. oftentimes, though, specially when we're using it outside during an event or an unexpected instance, our hands get shaky or the subject moves resulting in blurred shots.

my suggestion, if it is possible, is to make the special nightshot function an option or to maybe make it 1,2,3.. with 1 being the default (original nightmode) and 3 being the one with the slowest shutter speed but with the best nightshot (chengrong setting as of now).

Answer:
default (original nightmode) is 1.3
slowest shutter speed is 1.8 without night on.

what does Nightscene (1.4) mean in the 8.53 driver? i only get very dark pictures with it. should it simulate night on daytime?

For city light. road lamp.

About Zoom,
pls turn macro on.

@Holdit

Sports sence(1.5) is fastest shutter speed in all sences.

Posted by Holdit
Speed over quality is not ideal or I would jus stick with default driver for w810i

A nice go between would be nice - Middle ground...Best of both worlds. Shutter speed of 1.4...or even 1.3 but accuracy of 1.0

ok. got it. when i first tested it i didn't realize i need to turn on nightmode after choosing 1.3. now it works.

thanks for the info and for this great driver.

For indoor, roomlight, try next: night mode OFF, and 1.8 (manual exposure) and EV -1.0... That will do a magic... I mean those settings will produce, in 90% cases, picture with ISO 200 value, which mean optimal, sharper and more realistic pictures...

^^^ at 1.8 you may aswel leave nightmode on to reduce noise. Exposure time is quick anyway

Noise redused without night mode ON, trust me, and i try with it ON, and it's overexposed... (On EV -2.0, my phone restarted)

I agree with your tunning.

LED_WB_SET = 06 02 00 01 06 11 #CMD_END
05 02 00 20 05 #CMD_END
05 02 00 21 f4 #CMD_END
06 02 00 01 01 13 #CMD_END;

But i think other changes is wrong. Maybe i don't understand those changes.
Can you tell me? thanks.

I tryed Your 8.53 (no Paparazy edited) and the combination of LED_WB (above) and the photos are more yellou as in this case: LED_WB_SET = 06 02 00 01 05 11 #CMD_END

Hey! Can someone please help me. When I copy 8.53 camera driver using Far, it just stop responding. What could be wrong. Others drivers copy just fine. I have k750i with R1AA008 firmware. Thanks.

I think that 8.53 would be a perfect driver if in function 1.3, instead of having default night mode, would have ZUZA2007's night mode. In few words..what I am asking is to incorporate Zuza07 night mode in function 1.3 of 8.53 driver. I ask for this because although 8.53 has great night abilitys,in some shots we need faster pics to get better focus and Z07 has it!

People, stop complaining already! We have everything we can ever wish for in a cheap cell phone - Chengrong has turned it into a professional camera! And there are still people who complain... At first I was a bit confused with the driver, but then I learned how to use it and now I'm really satisfied. You have different scenes with different settings - you can use whatever scene you want. If you want fast photos, use Sports; if you want noiseless pics in low light - use Normal or Night Portrait. Furthermore, you can adjust EV to whatever suits your needs - that will adjust shutter speed as well as ISO.
So don't complain about the driver, but first learn how to use it. Don't excuse poor photographing skills with the quality of the driver. Because there are people who put a lot of effort into creating those drivers and we should respect that. Just my 2cents...

Posted by EduX
I agree with Smuko. Chengrong`s 8.53 is an excellent driver.

Posted by mladen750i
It's not a question about advantages of spoken driver... It is programmer skills needed, and that's a fact! For all of questions about zoom feature: k750i from may 2006, is producing without ability to zoom in full resolution!! That is a hardware issue, not firmware and driver thing... Regards for Smuko from Serbia...

I cant get into super mode?
I tried the key but it didnt work!
how can I get into super mode.

K750i-R1DB001-CID49-red

Thanks.

Posted by MarkJason
@ Chengrong - Do all scenes use the enhance night mode? Do i need to use the enhance night mode with a scene lets say scene 1.3?

Posted by tranced
@Masoud57: you dont need to use the key combination. just press zoom keys to change scenes. use macromode and zoom keys for the linear zoom. macromode+nightmode and zoom keys for normal zoom. that's all.

Not all scenes use the enhance night mode.
Those scenes ( 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 ) is normal night mode for speedup.

Some of the differences between them are as follows:
1.3 scene: Normal night model.
1.4 : Low ISO low noise.
1.5 : Fast shutter speed.

@ Chengrong - But i can use it together? I mean when i use 1.4 and night mode on, will ther 2 override each other? 1.5 and night mode? And i noticed about enhance night mode... The filesizes are small compared to normal mode... I know in normal mode there's a lot of noise but its like twice smaller... Is it like ZUZA? ZUZA has small file sizes...

@mladen750i
Thanks for pointing that out. I have also heard that new models don't have zoom on 1600. And their mp3 player sounds worse. It seems that SE downgrades their models instead of improving them... too bad.

P.S. Greetings from Bulgaria!

@BLKSNAKER
No, man, you misunderstood. I was not talking for you at all! I agree with you that Zuza 2007 is a very good driver and it will be nice if we can use its settings in SuperMode3. There was a guy that posted a version of 8.52 (the old SuperMode) with Zuza1 settings, and I used it before 8.53 came out.

@anyone
Can you compare Paparazy's tunned driver with 8.53? Which one do you think is better?

Posted by MarkJason
Is ZOOM important? I mean is it of any use? I thought it makes pictures bad... I've used ZUZA 2007... One thing that made me to not use it is because taking pictures with it in indoors have noise... even if i lighted up the place and use nightmode... the best it can do is ISO 200... aside from that its a great driver... but its better to have no or low noise in your pics rather than have great color quality because i can edit that on photoshop while reducing noise also takes away the details...

Posted by mladen750i
@ Smuko
And that's why they zooming off, after taking pic's...
Paparazi's modded 8.53 version have slow pictures taking time, and lil'bit more noise, i think... My opinion is that Chengron's are better choice... Just tested both driver in day conditions, and i can tell you that Paparazi definitively make blurer pic`s and less realistic than Chengrong`s...
@ Chengrong
what's different in that "cid49" version? I have mentioned CID in my k750i, and throw testing, don't see any of differences?

@chengrong

What should i do in 8.53 driver text to change order of scenes. I have myope on my eyes and used to choose scene by countig number of zoom button "click". For me it is convenient another scene order.
I guess it is possible just to replace text blocks in driver part "SM_SELECT_FUNCTION=". Is it enough?
Thanx.

Good question

Perhaps the more advance scenes can be at the end and the cam starts in normal nightmode etc - Ie. 1.4 - 1.0 and vice versa

Why should I use this? I've got cid49 and the 1st driver works properly with my phone. But maybe I'm wrong?

Posted by pimp123
me too can't understand what is it supposed to fix.
the most common problem we 49ers seem to have (capturing zoomed photos) isn't fixed not with this hack or any other.

It is more likely that this hack cripples the driver rather than "fixing" it.

Oh and for the love of Deus, paparazy why don't you provide a link to just your camdriver rather than the 5mb zip?...

Yes for me doesn't works too. I have k750 cid49 flashed to w800 (main and fs)

Try editing the camdriver and see if the ZOOM works... Just remove the sup_prop 19 i guess and seq_get_prop_19...

@ MarkJason I have tried it on my cid 49 "w750" before posting.

I also agree with mobikid, some documentation on 8.53 would be nice.
No pun intended here but chengrong is a bit stingy on words, i.e. it took a few pages before letting us know which mode has the slowest shutter speed, good & bad combinations etc.

Someone told Chengrong about the ZOOM thing that someone said it worked! So Chengrong made a revised driver... AFAIK Chengrong have a CID36 K750i so i think he can't test it on his own...

Is hard for you to take a look on post from yesterday, and realise that no chance for zooming in full res. on k750i cid49, realised after may 2006? No driver thing... Sorry for my question in this way... Regards goes to youuote]

Posted by vstrglv
There is no zoom in saved file in new CID49 v.8.53. But other functions work in full res. mode!
Please explain, what is the perpose to save zoomed files? You can crop it later in PS. You can tune v.8.52 too, using my post from p.31.

1.0 normal
1.1 Portrait
1.2 Landscape
1.3 Night Portrait
1.4 Night Scene
1.5 sports
1.6 Beach/snow
1.7 Document
1.8 Manual Exposure Scene

OK, thanks for all the scenes/modes, but what do they Really mean? When to use which?

thanks!

Each scenes has a purpose, like if you are shooting in a sports game, use 1.6 sport scene. If you are shooting in a night place lets say if you are in las vegas... use 1.4 night scene. The 1.3 scene is the standard night mode of our camera...

Posted by smuko
1.0 normal - that's self-explanatory
1.1 Portrait - people and close objects in normal light
1.2 Landscape - far objects and landscape views, nature, etc in normal light
1.3 Night Portrait - normal night mode
1.4 Night Scene - low iso (100), low noise, makes perfect pictures of city lights
1.5 sports - fast shutter speed, noise in pictures, used for moving objects
1.6 Beach/snow - ?
1.7 Document - perhaps used for documents
1.8 Manual Exposure Scene - very slow exposure, used in very dark conditions with no movement and preferably a tripod

At least that's what I think...

Posted by onthespot64
hehe i think sir chengrong need to write down a user manual for his cam driver. =D
