http://img453.imageshack.us/img453/8818/dsc00189zt8.jpg

I get nice pics with your camdriver but sometimes this happens... I dunno why... But i guess when there is little more light in poor litted places this occurs... Btw, can i change the exposure time in your night mode? I just wanna experiment coz i really want to speed up the capturing speed of the cam... I always get blurred pics because of that... Pls... It is intended for my personal use only... nothing more... I really like your work... Thanks!

why your pics got so yellowish? are you using cloudy or is the light or is the room?

Anyone tried the new paparazy tunned driver in a not so poor lighted condition? In a dark room, it works well but when there's some light it really overexposes the pic... I hope the new driver fixes this... I'm charging my phone right now so i can't test it... I'll be posting some pics when i'm done charging...

Night mode ON

Normal mode

At 1.8 sence with led will be overexposed. At 1.0 nightmode is not overexposed.
if it is ture, let me test. Are you sure?

i) Change video recording quality

Using FAR. FS/ifs/settings/camera
Edit the driver.
Change the video recording to:

VR_NORMAL_MODE_FR=44;
VR_NIGHT_MODE_FR=28;

Hey guys,

I took a test snapshot last night at the mall.. Here's the pic below.
As you can see, the lights seem to be bit overexposed.. I was using normal mode (Night mode OFF).. with Night Scene turned on..

How do I get a better picture? Any tips?

Posted by MarkJason
Guys, i still have the overexposure thing... even with latest camdriver from paparazy... what's wrong? It is still 2 sec.

http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/6703/dsc00203nw8.jpg

I found a solution for me...
I have to set it to EV -1.3 to have the best shot indoors with ample lighting... EV -1.7 gives ISO 200.

At EV -1.3

@ MarkJason
bom dia.

Night = Modo Night EnhanceNight Shot automatic work, Press EV for manual exposure time
Day = Modo night off, Press EV exposure normal
closet dark = ajuste de moldura Press EV -
closet bright = ajuste de moldura Press EV +
closet objeto = Modo Macro
Video = Modo night off (fast video), Macro on (best zoom)
Zoom = Modo Macro Press zoom key to change.
change Scences = Macro off,Press zoom key to change.

what's the difference we could get with this modification? fps?

I have no issues with this driver - Daytime shots are wicked - The settings are so sensitive that u really cant use nightmode in the day with natural light - It will over expose into a white screen - lol!!!

He has made a good edit to 8.53 driver and i think i will leave it at this. Only thing I could hope for is speed of functions...Slows the phone down so much

Posted by PzK
anyway to change the shutter speed or exposure time using the paparza driver

Posted by Metal_Skane
In short terms Mark, Paparazy said that you used wrong the functions of the camdriver, u must deactivate the night mode on day pictures, and use night shot on dark or night photos, and he says something about the EV but i cant fully understand cus i Speak Spanish not Portuguese. Sry i cant be any more helpful.

Posted by PzK
@ MarkJason good day. Referring the photos postadas with super exposition must to the bad use of driver.

You must use the functions in the correct way.
A photo the night with driver tunned must set in motion the function night. Already the case of a photo to the day must be incapacitated the way night, its photo was taken off in way missed in this dark environment it room with framing in the window without use of adjustment EV.

Table for aid (help to driver):

Night = Way Night EnhanceNight Shot automatic work, Press EV will be manual exposure time
Day = Way night off, normal Press EV exposure
closet dark = adjustment of frame Press EV -
closet bright = adjustment of Press frame EV +
closet object = Way Macro
Video = Way night off (fast video), Macro on (best zoom)
Zoom = Way Press Macro zoom key you change.
change Scences = Macro off, Press zoom key you change.

translated through google

Thanks for the translation guys! I know they put a lot of work with these drivers and i appreciate it... It's not that i'm not using it in a right way... I just wanna get the full potential of it... I'm in indoors when i took those shots. Although it was daytime, i thought it was ok to turn on night mode because some portions of the place i'm taking shots with have dark spots... And when i'm not using the night mode at those places, it will not turn out very well, lots of noise... If i'm going to use the Supermode 8.52 and adjust the ISO to the minimum, the pics would be dark. So i'm using 8.53 night mode in indoors because it adjusts the ISO to the minimum and brighten up the pics a bit... That's why i have so many overexpose shots. I think Paparazy fixes the EV settings because last time when i used Chengrong's new 8.53 this doesn't work... I mean if i lessen the EV it will still overexposes the pic.. But now it's gone! So with a lot of testing, i managed to came up with this settings so that i will still get the minimum ISO which is 100 and still get bright pics...

DAYTIME + OUTDOORS = normal mode
DAYTIME + INDOORS = nightmode + EV -1.3 ( This setting should have daylight present if not i use EV -0.7 )
NIGHTTIME + INDOORS = nightmode + EV -0.7 ( Household lights only )
NIGHTTIME + DARK PLACES = nightmode

I know this is THE END tunning for the driver, i wish if they could make the focusing faster without sacrificing anything. ( if possible )

To Chengrong and Paparazy, thanks for these awesome drivers!

apolgies to double post but i was wondering if there was a way of manually editing the shutter speed. editing the file itself through notepad. 2 secs is too long for night shot and i would like to change to it to 1.5 or 1 second.

[ This Message was edited by: PzK on 2007-02-08 23:06 ]

Posted by MarkJason
@ PzK - Try my settings... Changing EV also changes the exposure time... so i thing it can't be done. I lower the EV so that i could get faster shots but still have clean night photos... A bit darker but looks more real. But lower the EV too much would leave you with a noisier pic... but will get your shots faster... I hope this helps a bit... Waiting for Chengrong to prove me wrong and make a fix to adjust the shutterspeed manually... ( i really really hope so.... )

And i realize that when your pics have smaller sizes it usually be better than having larger filesize ( more noise in the pics )... unless it is overexposed then its not a good thing... Smaller filesizes = CLEANER PHOTOS.

guys guys guys! keep in mind the Supercam's table of conversion.

http://sonyericsson.ikuwara.com/

its all there... thanks to whoever posted this one... atleast he cares enough for those people wondering about this driver so much... what can it do and what more can it offer.

its all there i tell you... its not a user-friendly driver like the rest but i tell you, its the most powerful to date. none of the other drivers can be flexible as this one. just always keep in mind this table. it will help.

ciao!

Posted by chengrong
Oh! The table of conversion is belong to version 8.52. Someone made a mistake.

@Paparazy
I agree with your tunning.

LED_WB_SET = 06 02 00 01 06 11 #CMD_END
05 02 00 20 05 #CMD_END
05 02 00 21 f4 #CMD_END
06 02 00 01 01 13 #CMD_END;

But i think other changes is wrong. Maybe i don't understand those changes.
Can you tell me? thanks.

So that table relates to 8.52 and won't correspond to 8.53?

What are the differences anyone (not of the drivers, but the table values)?

Ive been monitoring this thread for a while but not had time to flash my phone and play around I too would be interested in setting exposure times.....

The version 8.53 is released at February 03, 2007. The Older post of this topic is talk about version 8.52.

Posted by MarkJason
Camdriver 8.53 doesn't use the supermode. It's a different driver... It is straight forward just like the default camdriver equipped with our phones but with more features... better features i may say...

Posted by smuko
I wish we could still adjust some settings such as shutter speed, ISO and fps manually. I really got used to it in version 8.52 and I made some nice photos.. now I have to remember scenes..

Posted by MarkJason
As what i've heard from Chengrong, if 8.53 is rock stable then he can incorporate 8.53 features to 8.52... I like to see that happen... But he said it is a lot of work so it may take a while...

Posted by mladen750i
Hello. people! I think that is no chance to improve picture quality without of lose some functionality, like speed or exposure, becouse it`s a magic circle! Do you agree with me?! I will hapiest man if chengrong make me wrong! Best regards for him and all of you!

Posted by PzK
yeh that would be sweet, personally the exposure or shutter time i think is too long and about 99.99/100 times i get a blur shot. if it was manual this would be ace.

Wicked!!! Some awesome night shots posted here....heck, my Sony 5-megapix digicam is feeling ashamed!

Posted by macgywer
what does Nightscene (1.4) mean in the 8.53 driver? i only get very dark pictures with it. should it simulate night on daytime?

Posted by ARMAN
awsome new 8,53 driver out and I am loving it sofar just was learning to use 8,52 LOL but new one seems to be a better one

1,4 + night shot function in 8,53 is very good no noise!

didnt try the day shots much yet to judge

zoom still not work it zooms but on picture it is unzoomed I suppose its a problem of k750 flashed to w800, i dont really care about the zoom anyway

i am not sure i will ever use 1,3 cause it still make lots of noise 1,3 with noise or 1,4 witout any noise... hmmm i wonder wich I will use...

keep it up good work Chengrong

4 examples of night shots all set on timer to avoid moving and night button ON

Some strange behaviour with 8.53 using:
K750i CID36 with w800 R1CA002
Normal scene 1.0
eV -2.0
WB Incandescent

This happened only once. Anyway, the scenes are great! I just love them!

Posted by tranced
maybe the picture didnt save well. just a thought.

Posted by Holdit
The shutter time is really an issue now - Took the phone out.....Was at an event and tryin to take pictures was a pain. It moves so slow to get focused on the place u point at then when u have the settings, you have to hold the buttom down for a lifetime then hold your hand and body still or u get a blurr

The only way around this is reducing the contrast (EV) which intern reduces the lighting / contrast of the pic.

The driver would appear to be to powerful for the processor of the phone. I think the scenes is over kill. Get rid of all the others that we probably wont use an focus on the performance of the driver and 1 top quality scene (1.0) and nightmode --

Posted by tranced
no pain, no gain. something's not gotta be that good. in this case the night scene.

Posted by guguly
chengrong did an impressive camdriver,8.53. but I guess this is the trade-off for getting a very good night shot. the subject and our hands must be very still for a few seconds. oftentimes, though, specially when we're using it outside during an event or an unexpected instance, our hands get shaky or the subject moves resulting in blurred shots.

my suggestion, if it is possible, is to make the special nightshot function an option or to maybe make it 1,2,3.. with 1 being the default (original nightmode) and 3 being the one with the slowest shutter speed but with the best nightshot (chengrong setting as of now).

Posted by hobo.
i wanna try this but i wanna know where i can download the original camdriver if i don't like this?

Posted by tranced
back up yours before trying this one.

Posted by Holdit
driver 7.7 is better because of this shutter issue - I might aswel jus bring my digital camera because my phone with a 5minute delay shutter is not what U need at a wedding or party - The people in the shot will start screaming at you because u making them smile for 10mins while u keep still. Ha ha

Posted by ARMAN
^^ lol good point here for those occasions you can have another driver(s) in your phone so you can switch them(you gotta have patch thou that allows you to have drivers in "other" folder)

You can use nightportrait(1.3) scene to solve such problems. The nightportrait scene isn't enhance night.
