t-mobile mda compact III with co pilot

Any thoughts on the T-Mobile MDA Compact III with CoPilot i am thinking of getting this as my upgrade. Normally go for phones with good cameras (got a k800i at present) or music (had a w800i). I am now thinking i like the look of this and the co-pilot would be usefull. The only smartphones i have had in the past have been a p800 and the n70.
A couple of concerns i have.
The battery /standby time is this typical of smartphones?
Anybody used any of these t-mobile branded handsets and what are their feelings
