Sony Ericsson receives all possible awards across Europe
The Spanish Television and Press Graphic Reporters Association (accronym banned) has awarded the K800 the distinction of the Best Cameraphone of 2006., as an outstanding product that helps the professional photographer optimize his job.
In the United Kingdom, Sony Ericsson has also been awarded by consumers with the Best Manufacturer Of The Year award, the Best Mobile Phone Of The Year award to the K800i. —which also was voted the “Readers’ Dream Phone“—, and the Best Music Phone award to the W810.
Finally, the German edition of the Connect magazine granted, with readers’s votes, the awards of Best Cameraphone to the K800i. (45,2% of the votes, and the apparently-not-so-old K750 being in third place), Best Music Phone to the W810. (with 59,9% of the votes), Best 3G Phone to the W900, and Best PDA Phone to the P990.
To summarize, Sony Ericsson nowadays seems to be losing the “best phone with wheels and facial hair” category only, or whatever.

I have lost count of all the awards they have received this year. With the rumours of a increase in SE models for next year it looks like no one else will get any.

jcwhite they be spreading themselves too much.
They should develop more phones without cameras and the phones with cameras should be decent.
Let's hope they get something decent out for October 07 so I can upgrade to it

SE needs to develop phone with bigger screensize, edge, AD2P, louder speaker and some stuffs like that. this may increase awards quantity for SE. IMO.

They just have to concentrate for low end phones for that and more symbain phones will do hell of a job for them...

Yes, the main thing that SE focuses on is keeping up their brand image and profit. If they moved into an all out war into the low-end market, their image as a sophisticated brand would vanish. Nokia's only really known for having lots of phones, cheap phones, would also come to mind.

Well I think a lot of people on this forum want SE to release an all out high end phone. Something with the good features of the
plus Cybershot plus good video recording plus it being a smartphone.
People just want a high end phone from SE, but I think we'll see one soon, especially with the rumoured Handycam.

high end phones are more expensive, so all ppl couldnt get these phones. we'll have to get satisfied with low or med end phones. all we need is med end phones with good new features.

Yes, well people here are more vocal about wanting high end phones, as we represent quite a select proportion of the mobile user base; generally higher end users.
But we will see (according to Eldar and just from SE's previous strategy) many more mid range phones, and lots of variations of phones in different packages, i.e. K610/Z610.

your phones are easily the best, your accessories rock, your website is as top-notch as the UI on your phones. It's no wonder that the awards are pouring in.
Nokia's #1 sales position is sure to take a hammering now that they've dropped CDMA. Can
reach #1 with only GSM? I doubt it unless CDMA falls over. It's only USA and South Korea propping it up ain't it?
