Trade problems with Xdavex

Hello dear esato members.

As you probably see I have sold my phone nokia n73 to an "trusted" member here in esato called Xdavex. The deal was my phone for a w810 plus cash. We agreed to send together on Monday and when he would get the phone he should deposit the money to my bank account.

I sent mine with special delivery and he got it on tuesday ( I got the receipt). When I asked why mine hasn't arrived yet he told me that he would check it and give me a call to inform me about it.
So now has been 3 days and he didn't call me, not answering to my pm's and he still hasn't deposit the money to my account.

I know he is trusted member here in esato but if you were at my situatuion what you should do...

You know to be honest sometimes people run into unexpected cash strap moments, especiall when you think of the luxury of phones we spent. I dont know what his situation is but I am sure there is normally a valid reason.

Just give it a few days, but I do urge Esato Members to be honest and straight up, like I said there are days unexpected bills have knocked on everyones door and sometimes those are priority.

But I do hope you get to sort the phone out soon. Goodluck.

Thanks for your reply themarques. Well if he had problems he should have keep me informed. I also hope to sort this out as soon as possible.

As themarques says, give it until over the weekend. People do go missing for various reasons, been through that myself and bank transfers take longer than 3 days, if not from same bank, to appear in your account.
He has good references in Trusted Traders, which is important. I know as each day goes on, the feeling gets worse as, again, I and others have been through it recently. I'm sure there are far worse sellers on here!
Sure he'll turn up in the end. Good luck.

Should the deal go wrong I presume you have a note of the IMEI number so that you can report the phone stolen and get it blocked?

As I said in the PM I had no problem in my deal with him but I didn't realize the amount of time that has passed and I must admit I would be getting concerned at 5 days with no contact.

Yes I have even register the phone with nokia I also had a deal with him 4-5 months ago and everything went just fine. And as dougproctor said everyday the feeling gets worse...

any number of unpleasant things could have happened that would make a phone trade pale into insignificance...

give it time.

Although not wishing harm or bad fortune on anyone ( well nearly anyone ), I think that rather depends on if it is your £200 phone that has gone missing or someone elses.

Ok guys I have just been pm'ed by his brother. He had some problems and he will contact me as soon as he can. Hopefully everything will be fine

Thanks everyone for their interest!

Hello again guys. Still he hasn't contact me. I know he has problems, as his brother told me, but what shall I do? Does anyone here in esato know his mobile number?

Posted by inferno
I want people to know that I still haven't received anything from him. It has been 2 weeks now and I just know he is having problems ( I don't know if he is telling the truth or not). He told me that he going to send me back my phone but he hasn't. If anyone can help me with this I would be grateful.

I know this will not make you feel any better but on the positive side, no-one has come forward and said anything about having had bad dealings with xdavex, so I would suspect something wrong has genuinely happened.

Hang in there mate, I know what its like and we all feel for you.

Yeah, from what i have heard he seems an honest and decent guy. I do remember him asking for any ways of making £250 to pay the rent a few weeks back, i know its no excuse but if he's having a tough time at the mo may not be feasible to sort your deal out. Saying that he should'nt of agreed a deal if he could'nt stick to it.

Good luck anyway mate, i am sure it will get sorted soon enough

@goldenface
That what I was thinking when I sent him my phone, but guess I was wrong. Well, I want to believe that everything will be fine.

@Scott
As you said there is not excuse to make the deal if he hasn't got the money. Or at least he should have sent me back my phone straight away.

Thank you both for your replies. It is good to know that some of the members in this forum care about other members problems. Will try to keep this up untill everything is sorted out. Thanks again!

Hi inferno, sorry to hear that you are going through this, I too would be concerned if I were in your shoes. Keep your fingers crossed, based on the fact that he is a trusted trader I guess you may get back your phone or money eventually.
Hope it all works out for you soon.
Bye.

If you do manage to get in touch with him, please remind him he still owes me £25... and has done for about 6 months.

Posted by inferno
kk.226 you should have mention it at the feedback forum. If I had seen that he had 1 negative I wouldn't have made the trade. Anyway hopefully he will see this thread and sent us both the things he own us. By the way don't you have his mobile number? Pm if you do please.

Posted by Burgaz
Have you seen xdavex's help thread in the garbage section?

Posted by kk.226
inferno PM mate.

Yeah I should've made a comment but he seemed a nice guy untill he just disappeared and contact was lost.

I've traded my camera, a psp, phones etc. and all have gone smoothly with him, so £25 seemed very small in comparison but thought i'd mention it.

Posted by inferno
Just saw it and reply Burgaz. Great way to make £250!

kk.226 thanks for you pm. Will try to call him tomorrow and see what he has to say.

If it turns out not to send me anything, how can I involve the police in this? If anyone knows I would appreciate to inform me how. Keep in mind that I have register the n73's ime number with nokia club.

Thanks for the help and the interest guys. I tried to call him but his phone is switched off.

Posted by inferno
