Crackling/popping sounds in the w810i, does everyone have it?

I just bought a w810i cell an few days ago and i've noticed that when starting a song I often hear a series of pop sounds. This also happens in-between songs.
My question is this. Does everyone have this problem(with the latest firmware R4EA031) or is this an uncommon problem.
I need to know whether to take the phone to the shop or wait for a fw upgrade..?

I'd prefer to hear from someone that doesn't have this problem.

Well even i have been facing this problem of crackling / pop sound mainly when a new track starts or while starting or stopping the walkman app...

Its really irritating... I guess many other users are also facing this problem..

Lets see what the other w810 users have to say...

BUMP
Anyone else, I need to know just how common a problem this is!
@sandeep3k
If you connect regular speakers do you stil get the same problem. I don't.
I think it's probably a bad plug on the end of the fastport to stereo cable. Another set of earphones has the same problem.

I have the faintest pop when closing the walkman app. Must be a common thing. It doesnt bother me as i have to really concentrate to hear it. Thats on my w850i

Definitely noticable here. I use my earphones as supplied originally with the headset in the box, so I'm 100% sure if you use a speaker-set instead (using the normal stereo-jack), you'll freakin' scare the shit out of people if you use your W810i at a party with loud speaker volume (and the song ends or starts, of course).

LMFAO!!! as this just happened to me the other day as I got the notion to try it out on my 5.1 500watt surround sound system at home using the cable that I usually connect to my laptop. Phone volume was at full blast with Mega Bass kicked on and I didn't think to adjust the stereo volume and just about crapped my pants when I pushed play. scared the hell, outta me so good I jumped up and completely knocked my phone behind my couch.

Let me take a guess, FastTrack?

Hey for me NOTHING 4 real! I just tried my supplied earphone several times with different tracks. The pop is so minimal that i hardly hear it except when i'm in high concentration and in a quiet environment.
I'm using R4ck003. Very satisfied with my cell so far. Excellent phone!

I am using the R4EK001 firmware (R4EK001 main file + R4EA031 FS, to be precise) and the rufinus’ v3 acoustic driver. Problem almost solved (very acceptable level) for the walkman. Radio “morse code” effect corrected, but some crackling when starting the radio.

I have two MS cards, 512Mb (sony) and 2Gb (sandisk). I will test your theory using phone memory.

About the crackling problem…
I’ve tried every single firmware (R4CE012, R4CK003, R4DB005, R4EA031, R4EK001) with all the original (w800, k750, w900, w810) and modified (rufinus, Black Ice, No Hissing, skindeep, ToShaRa, wow, qwerty, AvaloN,…) acoustic possible. I can’t fix it so far. Sorry, IMHO is a hardware problem, and WILL NOT be fixed by Sony Ericsson (see in SE developers forum). Now, I’m using original w800 + no hissing + R4CE012 main file and notice low crackling level.

Notes:
It’s not MP3 quality (bit rate, frequency,…) or earphone problem.
Battery level influences crackling. 100% Battery = no crackling.
It’s a random problem in media player, but always happens when starts fm radio.

battery level does not matter as i've had this problem with my battery at its 100%. i can agree with you when you say it is a random problem.

tranced, I try to use the phone memory instead of memory stick and after +-70% battery the crackling starts the same way in my phone

Using "original w800 + no hissing" acoustic driver (or 800+no_hissing+w810+w900) and 100% battery level, I can play +- 2,5 hours with no crackling. When the battery level drops to 70%, the crackling starts in my phone. I tried that several times.

This weekend, I want to measure and plot a current x voltage curve of the battery and identify the minimum voltage/current value (considering that is the problem ) that trigger the “crackling” effect. That will be complicated because of the location of the battery / phone connector. After that I will use, instead of the regular battery, a DC voltage source with value just a little superior of the minimum. I hope the player will work several hours without crackling.

If it works I think it’s truly a hardware problem (design) or incorrect battery specification.

Yes, it matters. You can charge this type of battery only a few hundred times (300 I read somewhere). More than that it loses capacity. I suppose that you did more than that in 2 years. My phone and battery are new (2 moths).

I change the brightness to 50%, turn off Bluetooth, use only 96 kpbs mp3 and put a black wallpaper to save energy. I notice that, even with very low battery, the crackling was almost gone (twice all day long and only happens when I switch between tracks manually).

i set the brightness to 50%, bt off, but my wallpapers has a picture of my GF . my battery was less than 70% and i didnt get any crackling yesterday. does this happen with the RCA cable?
