Try setting bluetooth to power saving mode, should get a bit more speed with that.

Does speed has anything to do with USB v2.0 & USB v1.1. On my pc USB v1.1
What difference ?

Average values:
27 kb/s sending
42 kb/s receiving

Not really, USB 1 has a speed of somewhere near 500kb/s, i don't know the exact speed so don't blame me if it's 300 or 700kb/s, it's just far enough for bluetooth.

well - i use a cheap v2.0 dongle from 7dayshop (about 10quid) and i get pretty fast for what i want really --- like at a guess i'd say around 60 - 100kbps (i have a treo 650 and v600i (slower on v600i by a long way - more like 40kbps))
anyway....it works at a good speed for what i want to use it for.

does battery affect BT transfer speed?
Posted by carkitter
I was getting 16-20kbps with my V800 but now with the V630i I'm getting 38-45kbps! It makes a big difference when transferring themes and pictures.

BT is the only wireless method. Unless you have P990 with wifi, you're outta luck
I use BT for pics and themes etc, cable for music files or videos.

I still occassionally use irda
even if IR is not as fast as BT, for the odd one off transfer it doesn't require pairing and so can end up being a be a bit quicker

true. And it's better than nothing if that's all you got on someone else's phone you wanna get or send stuff to.

From my Mac to my wife's W810i, I can get around 40+kb/s. From the Mac to my M600i, I can usually get around 65kb/s. However, from the Mac to my wife's new Nokia 6300, I managed to 148kb/s!
