After saying that though - it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Nokia released 180 phones in 2007
Posted by EMS06
And have them returned back at a rate of 5 a day. Would be nice.
Posted by goldenface
I can't wait for the next announcement. The W810i is still a strong seller so I would be surprised if its replacement is announced already.
6 weeks till christmas already I wonder what No1 will be
Posted by EMS06
I think the k800i would be number one in the next update. Particularly with Mr Bond strutting his staff on the big screen with it.
Posted by goldenface
Very true! I think Samsungs sliders in more colours gave them a boost too.

I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised by Samsung sliders, they are so boring yet they sell so well. People just can't get enough of them. Don't know why.
Posted by goldenface
I know. I think it has to do with the stealthly looks of the black versions and the fact that it is one of the slim, feature laden phones out there.

I see the W850i is back on top and another SE joins the top twenty. Good stuff!

Now that's what I call a huge comeback! Way to go w850i! What's happening to my favourite phone-k800i? 7 to 6 in favour of nokia. A while back it was 7 to 5. Good to see the z610i coming back as well.
Posted by Residentevil
My bet was on the W810i. What happened to the K750i?
Posted by shaliron
@Residentevil
I think that this is all the contract phones. There is a separate list on PAYG phones, and the K750 is second.

I agree. That blip was strange. May be they sold out quite early as it did hit No1 quite quickly.
The K800i dominated chart for a whole 13 weeks, but although it might not hit the No1 one spot again I can see it being in the top ten for a while.
The UK will be the centre of the great SE v Nokia struggle for the No1 spot next year.

@goldenface- yes, the SE vs Nokia war is getting hotter! With almost equal number of handsets in the top 20 this is interesting stuff indeed. We might just see a new sherrif (SE) in town soon.
Posted by shaliron
And even in the PAYG market, Nokia and SE are tied at 5 each, but SE has got the better overall positions.
Posted by goldenface
The PAYG chart:
- Motorola L6
- Sony Ericsson K750i
- Motorola V3 RAZR
- Nokia 6111
- Sony Ericsson W810i
- Samsung C120
- Samsung E370
- Samsung D600
- Nokia 6230i
- Samsung E900
- Sony Ericsson K510i
- Sony Ericsson K310i
- Nokia 1600
- Nokia 2310
- Sony Ericsson W300i
- Nokia 1100
- Samsung E760
- Sony Ericsson K800i
- Motorola U6 PEBL
- Motorola W220
SE 6
Nokia 5
Samsung 5
Moto 4
I've a feeling that entry level
will go down a storm too, when they are released.

Interesting to note what types of phones nokia has on the P.A.Y.G.

What do you mean? :smille:
Posted by EMS06
The kinds I would term cheap as opposed to SE. If SE were to take that route it would be interesting. Keeping in mind their (SE) niche in the market.
Posted by Residentevil
That is surprising, that a Motorola leads the list. It is pretty big in US. But the phones are good average.

i see that the k800i has jumped way up(on o2 sales only?)

SE's very strong in the PAYG market in the UK isn't it. Not much like that in Australia though. We don't get as much.
But the W810 is doing great for its age, both in the contract and PAYG markets. That's turning into a really good success.
Posted by EMS06
Wonderful to see SE as the top 2 again. As I expected the k800i is heading for that number one spot once again, unless of course the w850i has a say on the threat.
Posted by bart
i'm surprized how good the K610 holds its position.
i'm am however disapointed in the fact that only 3 SE phones or in the top 10, and that the Z610i isn't a succes with its very nice colors.
Posted by goldenface
The PAYG K800i is slowly climbing the charts too. K750i, W810i K800i all seem to be doing well.
3 weeks till we find out who the Christmas No1 will be

i have faith in the K800.
appart from much higher sales of the P990i its more like a drop for SE during that week.
still looking for some presents? buy some SE phones. i myself have bought 4SE phones during this Q and their are 3 to go making a total of 7, can you do better
Posted by EMS06
@Goldenface- don't get too ahead of yourself just yet, it's not over till it's over. I see the P990i just got in there. Interesting.

well I own the se w850i....the nokia n73 and the samsung d900 (which i'm using at the mo) all decent phones but have to say outta the 3 the samsung comes last in my eyes, yes its nice and slim but predictable, my favs are the w850i and hate to admit it considering i dont like nokia usually but the n73 is a deffo 2nd
Posted by goldenface
The W810 is doing well on PAYG considering its not a cheap phone. Yes I was surprised to see the P990 too, outselling the M600i.

@goldenface- I concede defeat. The w850i is definitely the king of sales for this year. Congrats.
Spare a thought for the k800i, for it to be at number 2 after all this time is unbelievable and brilliant!
