nice to see that the w810i is still topping the payg charts
Posted by goldenface
Almost and unbroken run of 6 weeks on PAYG.
The K800i must hold the record, I counted back and it had an unbroken run of close to 5 months at the No 1 spot. Some acheivement.
The K810i looks like it could knock the U600 of the topspot, something no other phone has done yet; We'll find out in next weeks exciting instalment.
Posted by bart
what i noticed was that the W850i only had a short hype, then it went out of the top 10 quite fast.
i think it will be the same with the S500i
Posted by Residentevil
The K810i is sure making a comeback.

Music-phone sliders are a niche product compared to say Samsungs sliders which are all they seem to sell. The W850i had a good run for a while. I expect it to do well on the PAYG, especially as the W580i is about to start shipping too.
Samsung have the sleek black slider market sown up. I don't think even Nokia can alter the 'Samsung=Slider' vision that people have.

is doing well. Posted by goldenface
Well it has a 25% market share in the UK which makes them 2nd.
According to the same sources, last year it had a 9% market share, which is phenomenal growth over 12 months.

isn't doing well at all, their models are droping.
i'm sure we'll see the S500i in the list soon, but its not going to make the sales turn as good as december.
Posted by mustafabay
I guess you are right bart,
isn't totally fantastic this year, yet. I'd think it would get a little more momentum when the K850, W910 and S500 all get their chances to go. I'd think the T650 might be a surprise though and do extremely well. SE basically saved all itss good stuff fot H2 so sofar its not going to look too rosy but the next 3Qs probably will.
Posted by bart
a problem i'm facing in my store. (i'm part of the car phone ware house group in belgium) is limited supply of SE phones.
they send us tones of nokia and samsung, but most people sell SE or moto when SE runs out. not only because we get more money for it, but also because they are better.
we can't chose are own supply, but every store runs out of SE phones quite fast.
SE needs to lauch more phones (more clamshells and sliders) and produce more phones.
and put AF on every high end/mid end phone!

Not a bad performance but its the sales that count.
The K550i and W660i should be primed for release very soon. The cheaper Cyber-shot should do quite well.

I don't get why people are so mad on the U600.
The LG Shine seems to be dropping like a stone - just not fashionable anymore I guess.
Posted by bart
fashion is a killer.
a slim sliding phone sells well, but the U600 isn't worth its money, it will cost samsung marketshare in the end.
Posted by EMS06
This year is turning out to be an average year for SE. I for one am disappointed.
Last year was a fantastic year compared to this. What the hell is the U600 doing at number one? It doesn't belong there! l
Innovative and exciting phones are needed from SE or the 25% goldenface mentioned will turn into a 20%.
Posted by bart
SE's last Q will be a good one, lots of phones hitting the market, lets hope they can supply enough, and that they are bugfree.

The Samsung U600 still can’t be knocked off first place while the Nokia N95, 6300 and the Sony Ericsson K810i continue to shuffle about in second to fourth places. Meanwhile Motorola’s Z8 hasn’t budged from its debut position last week at number 20.
1 (1) Samsung U600 - This slider can't be knocked from top spot

3 (2) Nokia N95 - GPS and a five megapixel camera
4 (3) Sony Ericsson K810i - The K800i's little brother

SE is dominating the charts atm. Samsung have got a way to go to take the No 2 spot in the UK.

8 phones in top 20 thats more like it, sadly only 2 in the top 10.
pay and go charts are going down for SE, only 4 phones.
i don't get it, why is samsung selling so well, their phones are so lame, only design nothing else.
lets hope SE can become the best selling brand of Q3 07 in the uk.

One of them is S500 ??

Thats what I was thinking. The S500i was number 12 last week and the runnings have remained largely unchanged.

A simple typo. The S500 is still number 12 (as you can see, the "W580" at the 12th place was positioned there last week, too)
