is that vga or mp cam?
Posted by axxxr
Most likely 1.3Mp but i may be wrong!
Posted by BobaFett
yeah, i guessed so too. but if its a w model, would it fit the walkman series without a mem card?
Posted by axxxr
Well it is a
model thats confirmed from the FCC document,proberbly has no external memory and possibly upto 80MB internal?
Posted by BobaFett
might be, that even the worst mp3 player has got 128mb, so it would be a stupid decision to launch it with 80mb imo...
Posted by pooyan13
I have the K510, that W200 is exactly the same as the K510 when you open the back cover. So it's probably the walkman version of the K510 with a 1.3 Mp camera and poor screen resolution.
Posted by mcrosser
I think it would be VGA camera, because W300 has a VGA one and it would seem ilogical. I agree on the lack of memory card in this phone.
Posted by wap123
ok enough bout this phone, back to the bravia phone, what is this & what is it supposed to do?
Posted by shaliron
We've already got the specs of the Melinda.

And cos it's based on the K310, it should have a VGA camera. For an ultra low end, that should suffice.
@wap123
Read the first post. BRAVIA is meant for DVB-H phones (TV phones).
And that BRAVIA phone looks a lot like that cancelled swivel that we saw earlier, but I reckon this one is a slider.
And don't you reckon the K550 will have a fixed focus 2 megapixel camera. Otherwise it's identical to the K770.
Posted by mustafabay
So you guys know which phone the W200 is based on? and which is it going to be, huge internal memory or M2 slot?
Posted by Residentevil
Looks pretty cheap.
Posted by PeterKay
Think we should wait to see the phones in real first, pictures don't tell us the full story.
Posted by goldenface

I can just make out the words "Sony Ericsson" above the screen.
Does anyone think this is legit?
@Mustafabay
Seeing how the W200 is a bottom of the range music phone I wouldn't be surprised if it just had enough internal memory for 200 songs or so - a very basic specification.

Well he didn't actually say that was the actual phone!
| Quote: |
|
He means he took a real picture of the phone,made a description of it in photoshop or a similer programme and then printed it out and then took that picture which he posted.And that picture isn't the actual phone!
Posted by goldenface
He done well managing to get the Camera Flash reflection in the screen.
EDIT: It looks to me like he took a picture of the actual phone and doctored the photograph, to mask some of the detail, using photoshop.
I think someone should do another photoshop showing a flashing green light above the screen and a silver d-pad, a green light in the centre of the d-pad and may be some silver edging around the end of the handset. Give it a slide out keypad and there we have it. Bravia-phone.

@all
The Melinda will have memory expansion and a VGA camera. It'll come with a 256MB memory card in the box. How do I know? Look here: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=135472&start=30
The BRAVIA phone looks very Samsung-like don't you think. If it weren't for the SE logo and if it were in black, it could easily pass off as one.
And I also worked out a logical conclusion for the side fastport placement.
We've already concluded accessories, but what's wrong with things (speakers and docks) being vertical?
If you think about it, SE is focusing on DVB-H on their next generation and widescreen displays. By putting the fastport on the side, it's possible to hold the phone sideways to watch TV and attach a set of stereo speakers comfortably, or you could put the phone into a 'TV' dock to watch TV while the phone is charging.
Posted by goldenface
@Shaliron
Good thinking - batman but it doesn't explain why low-end phones have have the side port. I suppose we'll find out when the next generation of accessories are announced.
@Macpersil
Does this have a sliding keyboard that comes out of the Side?
The left and right sides of the handset you posted don't look symmetrical.

ok, tv phone, maybe its me but why would i want a tv phone?
Posted by xumdeo
I don't see how the screen could be 240x432 judging from the ratio
Posted by goldenface
@xumdeo
That is what I was thinking. Its not the same ratio as the one featured on the W44s.

Here is another picture of it. No thats not the real phone, so some parts aren't original. Thats why the screen looks not symmetrical.

Ah, I see. So the phone is disguised.
So can we assume that the screen is the same size as the W950i, also in the above picture.

The screensize is approximately the same as the W950i's.
Posted by Macpersil
In the prototype version it was a slider. Perhaps the phone I saw is a general prototype of a DVB-H modell. Probably someone remembers the first 3G Prototype. The one before Z1010 that was never been sold.

Can't wait to see what's inside when the slide is open, and also the detail specs of that Bravia Phone.
Posted by goldenface
I've always thought that the W44s with its double hinge would be a bit unusual, a slider would probably be more welcomed in my opinion.

@xumdeo, the first link doesn't seem to work!
Posted by shaliron
@goldenface
I guess
wants to keep the theme of having the fastport on the side to keep a sense of 'continuity' with all the phones; it keeps all the new accessories compatible with the new phones.
@xumdeo
Already posted a couple of pages back by PeterKay
I reckon that screen is somewhat widescreen, or at least more widescreen than the screen on the W950. Maybe it's a very early prototype as suggested, but it's still going to be released.
I mean there's no activity button, no internet button, no video calls camera.
Posted by dr_thug
I think the bravia phone screen seems to be the same size as P990.Doesn't i look marginally bigger than W950i's??Macpersil,r u sure??
@shaliron,maybe those r the buttons the Macpersil hid with his photoshop
Posted by goldenface
@Shaliron
Maybe those buttons slide out from underneath.
Its a funny design. LCD TVs look good because they have a nice big bright screen with a slim surround or border. This hardly follows that trend.

Well, Macpersil clearly stated that this is not exactly what the device looks like, because he isn't allowed to give everything away just yet. So the final device will look a lot different than this. This is only a indication of what it will look like.
The large unused spaces around the screen do follow the SE trend in my opinion. The M600i has these large spaces, the K800i does, the W880i (Ai) does, the old W900i does, etc.
Posted by goldenface
@Deuxani
I'm not saying its not an
trend, just that I hope the Bravia screen takes up as much space as possible on the handset like on LCD TVs. A bit like these gadgets:
EDIT: The above handset, which I think is made by Sharp, would be a great form-factor for the new Bravia Handsets.

That are my big hopes too...

should update that Sharp photo with this, which is 5mm thinner, and the screen turned into a 3"
Posted by goldenface
Excellent!
Thats what I call a device. Though it looks like the biggest phone I've seen in the open position. The SO903i also has a 3" screen and I don't think it would be hard to imagine in the same form-factror as the Sharp903.
Closed position:

i can see it on the postet link on the t-mobile site, but i think it s a mistake

I can also see that on the link provided.

I guess it's just a mistake of an over-zealous admin - heard of a new W880 somewhere, couldn't find a picture...and took the first he found and didn't know...
Posted by goldenface
What is http://www.csp.t-mobile.net ? Is that an official t-mobile site?

Posted by Hmyzak_SE
W880i in T-Mobile pages is true. You can see this phone in section Configurator
Posted by shaliron
Well the W44S certainly used up the maximum amount of space on its top flip. That adds to the look of a sleek phone IMO.
EDIT: And I just checked on the original source of the K770 pictures. Look what I found. Why didn't anyone think of this before?
The keypad's looking a little cheaper now (off white?) and the back looks quite nice actually.
