Wonder what the
designers are thinking of?
Posted by BobaFett
looks like a remote control... happy to see joypad instead of the joy, even, the whole design looks cheap and crap. honestly, who would go for it? any of u?
Posted by DeLa
I'd have to see it in reality. It looks more japanese than european.
There was a need for a more discreet looking w810, I had serious doubt wether I'd go for one because of the 'sturdy & cool' look of the w810. So maybe I would hae gone for it.
There's definately a place for this phone in the portfolio, though I'd have preferred a further evolution of the k750 look. Also I wonder why the new elements that were introduced with the k700 have never really been further explored. You can see similarities in models like the k510, but really, the choice of materials and the way the keypad was constructed has never been at the same level. Shame.
I wish the SE design crew would go on retreat and immerse themselves in the Ericsson design solutions; if you see a t39 it still is so beautiful and elegant, they should go back to that line - they only did with the K750 imho.

@dela wise words
Posted by DeLa
thanks bobafett, we're apparently both from the 'old school' :-)
why do you like the w810 that much?
the supposed k770 looks better in black on the pictures I just re-saw a few pages back in this thread
Posted by dxreaper
Well... with regards as to who would get that phone.. I would actually get it as an alternative to the Silver K750i I have now and have been using since it came out. But that's just an alternative to the K750i, but as for now I'll look for Sofia.
Just because you guys don't like it doesn't mean there isn't someone out there who wouldn't.
Posted by BobaFett
@dela i dont wish to go off topic, so short: w810 has black colour, the keypad is comforteable cos there is space between the keys, joypad is fine, nice screen.
ps: old school

some prices for new models (in germany):
K550i (black or white): 230 EUR
W200i ("rythem black" or "pulse white"): 130 EUR
W880i ("flame black" or silver): 400 EUR
Z310i (black, "lush pink" or "brush bronze"): 120 EUR
Posted by mustafabay
But what does the K550 look like? If what we've been ssing lately, the cybershot, is the K770. Similar? Joystick? Anybody know anything? Except that its a bar Z550 that is.

Anything new about Maria (W950 successor)? This is the phone i'd be most interested in by SE, otherwise i might have to buy a Nokia!
When do you think SE will announce something about it? Q1??

Still no pics of Sofia!
Posted by goldenface
Not yet. Hopefully someone will take pity on us and throw some our way.
I am expecting it to have a very strong imaging look, dual-front, Xenon flash, sliding lens cover though probably a protruding one like the K800i, because although the main body will be slim I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if they fit a 5mp lens in a case as slim as the K610i.

My fear is that it may end up being slightly bulky.
Hope not though, need to see a pic
Posted by goldenface
SOPHEEA! SOPHEEA! SOPHEEA!
I hope she has some wow factor. She should do considering this wiill be the new flagship imaging device. The K800i was conservatively styled.

@peterkay
if its size of k610, it wont big too bulky, even if the camera lens creates a little bulk.... The k800i was nothing bulky for me, so i doubt Sofia will be
Posted by PeterKay
The thinner the better, thats the way forward for mobiles i think.
Posted by b35ty
True, but there's a limit. Some of Samsung's phones seem too thin to be functional.
Not that they'll fit Sofia into 9mm or anything ridiculous, just making a point.
Posted by PeterKay
Valid point @b35ty.
Posted by djgrimey
Slim is good but as mentioned before, usually the technological aspects of a slim phone tend to suffer due to the slimness. A bit of bulk is needed i say to fulfill what we all want from a decent phone.even if sophia was the size of the S700 it would still be ok,the S700 when released had almost everything we needed from a phone.I still use mine, although it is a bit old now. The sophia will be worth the wait whether slim or not. So long as it has the technology i for one dont care.
Posted by goldenface
I agree. A phone can be too slim - to the point were it just looks like you have received much for your hard-earned cash.

i dont mind the size as long its thinner than the P Series.
Posted by Macpersil
Here is the first picture of the new bravia-serie. I get from a friend, who works
in a very high position on SE. I alienated it a little bit, in order to show you not too much.
Posted by jack00
looks pretty much like a fake
Posted by axxxr
I have to agree that does look a bit dubious.
Macpersil to you have a larger picture of that?
Posted by Macpersil
I made a picture of it and printed it out. I'm sure i get into big trouble, if I make a picture of the real phone.
Posted by axxxr
Well it won't make a difference if you post a larger picture as you've already done so with that image.
Im sure you wont get into any trouble,we've had plenty of leaked images posted in ths thread!

Hey. . . Is that real bravia phone . . Can you get some more pic and details about it
Posted by Macpersil
Sorry, but I have promised not to post it into a forum. Here is the larger picture.
Posted by axxxr
Ok thanks Macpersil what do you mean you took a picture of it then printed it out?
Posted by Macpersil
Sorry! My English is not very good yet. I shoot a picture of the braviaphone made a studie and printed it. But this picture isn't a real copy of it.
Posted by bavlondon2
Can we have a picture of the memory card slot and back please.
Posted by Macpersil
I think it would take some time, if i will make a picture of the others parts.
Posted by axxxr
We would very much appreciate it if you posted some some more pics!
Posted by goldenface
Seems quite basic right from this picture . . And the screen proportions seem wrong. Is this a mock up? Where is the aerial?

@macpersil. Thanks for posting this picture. It gives some idea what we can expect.

Found this on Mobile Review, named the w200a, any more info guys?
"Today the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved a not yet announced GSM phone by Sony Ericsson – the W200a. Unfortunately, detailed info will be available next year. There is just a photo of the back side of the W200a, it gives us a hint about the form-factor, color solution and the existence of the camera"
