My source mentioned that nicole is also very likely to be announced on 14th June. Even the place where the announcement will take place was mentioned: Berlin in the Spindler & Klatt-building.

Does anyone knows if SE will release a gaming platform similar to Nokia's N-gage this year? It is better than making a dedicated game phone since all of the phones that supports the platform will be able to play almost all of the games available for that platform. I hope Maria and Shinobu will have that.

Doesn't the patent diagram look more like a PSP with phone capability rather than a new phone with gaming capability?

I've picked up from a very good source that Shinobu would be gaming focused, and possibly wasn't originally going to be a Walkman. Also described as "like a Wii" so I guess that means motion sensor.
I'm assuming dedicated 3D chip too, like the W900i.

There were rumours that sofia will also have a motion sensor kinda thing. If u tilt the phone horizontally, then everything changes horizontal. It would make sense. Whats interesting is that java platform 8 includes the api to allow programs to utilize this function. I wonder if SE developed any interesting apps. On another note, there were rumours of a shaker phone to be released by se. The walkman app responds to movement. It all points towards shinobu. Also, i hope SE have developed a built-in instant messenger app. This will definately give them the edge. Imagine connecting to msn, and sending pictures to ur contact, using ur cam to show them where u are. It would be a cool feature imo. We'll just have to wait and see.

I'm back with a bang! So...
Just a little something before I begin with the good stuff - nothing compared with what I'm about to say, but I just want to speculate that SE could soon change its naming convention.
Imagine Sofia = C1i? Perhaps the single number naming convention could be used for flagship mobiles for each respective brand. W1, C1, and P1. The public would know exactly which phone was the biggest and the best. And each year it would go up.
But to the good stuff, that is very reliable. Left out some previous info because that wasn't what I was specifically told. I don't do this often:
- Definitely the 14th of June.
- Sofia will be announced. The flagship Cyber-shot for 2007. That's the candybar with 5MP, xenon flash, and HSDPA 850.
- Shinobu will be announced. That's the flagship Walkman for 2007. That's the slider with HSDPA 850, music shaker feature. Tilt forward skips forward, tilt back skips back, and shaking phone goes to a random track.
- Anastasia (Myskina) will be announced. 1.3MP camera.
- Mooi will be announced. That's the Walkman smartphone with 8GB of flash memory.
- Possibly one more phone. Don't count on it.
- New accessories will be announced. Definitely at least one bluetooth headset.
Little tidbit - The W580 also has the shaker feature.
For the next announcement:
Shaker means accelerometer
And Mooi now seems to be exactly the same as Maria. What could have changed? Perhaps the form factor.
But that info is close to definite. And here's the rest of the rumours:
UPDATE:
- Unique applications: PDF/Document viewers, karaoke, TV, maps, enhanced Cyber-shot imaging software.
- Mooi will have a stereo bluetooth headset included in the sales package. Walkman v3.0
- PSP phone. It's just a patent guys...
- Maria has been split into Mooi and Shinobu.

Well, I can't be sure about the video resolution cos I don't try the phones. But all I know is that the minimum is QVGA@15fps, but remember, the T650 can do VGA@30fps and the only reason why SE decided to only let it have QVGA@15fps is because of marketing reasons. So I'm personally expecting minimum QVGA@30fps and possibly even VGA.
And if Sofia is UIQ... I guess so. The signs point to that, but I'm not promising hat at all.

I agree with you Shaliron 100%. Sofia should normally have QVGA @30fps. It will be the high-end Cybershot so it should be like that.
And if it has UIQ then this will be a very Big and Positive suprise. Only thing I will miss is Wi-Fi.....

Forigive my stupidity, but what is UIQ? I know it's something to do with operating system, but what's so good about it? Is it touch screen or something?
Also, I'm guessing that the P1i will be SE's flagship model. And then it'll be M00I (poss M1).

The advantage of UIQ is that the are alot of applications you can install.
First to come in my mind is GPS software to combine it with an external Bluetooth GPS.
Shaliron do you know anything else for Sofia? e.g. Display size/colrs, WiFi or not, TV-out? Or am I asking for too much?

I`m guessing, if your service provider offers the option only.
For example here in Canada, rogers offers the Vision pack. witch is Video calling, Satelite Radio, YouTube mobile, and mobile TV....
