it happen before... remember when 3GSM and Cebit is back to back in 2006.....what is unlogic???? huh? w660 is announced in March and same as Z750 and W580...you hate people make assumption but you are doing the same...Ya I make the hype on 28th may so I owed everyone an apology? fine for me....but what I hate is people who want to go into the extreme state in crictizing....you point you finger to someone but yet 4 of your finger is pointing back to you.

yes there will be a limit, but the future nokia phones(with more innovations) will drag it's price to the lower value as compared to SE which produces high-end phones in a cycle of 6-12Mos though P990's issue differentiates the situation. nokia releases more featured phones in lesser time than the SEs cycle. that's why i said that

Sofia might have been a test bed but quiet a few sources have claimed that a 5MP camera module has been finalized and a 5MP phone will release this year (7 months to go).

far, FAR too long to wait in the "dark" cellphone cycles should be 1yr, announce then release >> announce then release. consistancy is how you hold onto your consumer base. without it you tend to alienate your consumers.

This date (15th June) was mentioned twice from two independent sources.
I'm observing the french forum as well. Now, it's seems very likely to me that
this date is real.
BTW: Has anyone of you heard something about an upcoming phone named: MOOI ???
According to a user @ se-world.info it seems to be the official codename for maria. And maria is assumed to have 8GB internal memory. Sounds like an iPhone offensive. Can anyone confirm this information?

These are the facts that I know about the W950i successor/facelift or whatever it'll be:
• Design very similar to the W950i but with an ordinary keypad with 'real' buttons again
• 2,6" screen size
• 8 GB internal memory
• 3.2 Megapixel cam with AF
• New bluetooth-headset included in the package (most probably the one assumed to be announced on the 28th May)
• It also may have the same battery as the P1i with 1160mAh
• 3G but no HSDPA
• Walkman UIQ
And of course, it was described as a very noble phone.

When it was a duch one I think that guy ment, that it wil be good if there is some phone like that. Beacause MOOI means not only Beautifull, but in some sentences good. In the sentence it will be good, in Holland we use the word MOOI for good.

Since the beginning of the year that i saw people talking about sofia annoucement... and after a half year theres still nothing real. My guess is that sofia never existed and possibly the only announcement we will see is nothing more than a simple k800 with a 5mp camara and anything else new. Personally i dont know whats the point of buying a phone just because of the camara. If you want a good camara than you can get a digital camara for half of the price that takes better pics than the 5,6,7mp phone. I prefer to see a k800 with the same 3mp camara but with all other N95 features

Then Sofia is real. Sofia is going to be the top cyber-shot, so i wouldnt expect anything more than an upgraded K800 with 5 megapixel. Your not going to see GPS, VGA 30 fps, wifi in this one.

i think the new P-series phone will be announced at late october to complement with the so called "Symbian Show". if we turn back to history, this was the event when
P990 and UIQ 3 were announced
anyway i have done a research yesterday, and i discern P1 to be a light successor of P990 just as similar to what happened to P900 and P910. P910 succeeded P900 with just some updates i.e. display, RAM and ROM storage, desktop layout, added Qwerty keyboard and the Memory stick Pro Duo capability but it has the same 156Mhz CPU. SE repeats this scenario with P1 succeeding P990 in which it updates the camera, email support, RAM and ROM, desktop layout and Battery but in different form factor and powered by the Same 208Mhz CPU too.

Yes, but that is long time ago when speed (processor) was not big issue.

Hi everyone!I have to say that i am very much dissapointed in SE...The last great thing(revolutionary) they produced was k750.After that we so only copies and small upgrades to this "perfect" phone,but nothing else.Sadly...Even P1 is not that good.It is a SE flagship and its processor is still only 208 Mhz,and Nokia is putting in every new model over 300 Mhz.Also,they never put in same model(except z750) edge and 3g,hsdpa is missing,too(in most models),gps,etc.

imho... for a mainstream phone like sofia and shinobu, UIQ 3 must not be utilized for these reasons:
1. Fully costumizable UI though may not be so user friendly
2 .Begets more software issues than a typical
OS 
3. Requires greater CPU processing, A real Watt-hog OS (drains battery faster)
4. Lags more often than
's proprietary OS does, even hangs afaik
but, UIQ's extensive functions are just too unignorable
then so SE should work more seriously for UIQ issues first before incorporating it into their mainstream phones so as not to bring to much problems with users.

I agree, UIQ could bring too many problems. Although this could be the reason why Sofia hasnt been announced as of yet - SE could be fixing all those bugs on Sofia, if it has UIQ of course.

Agree, also in the next UIQ devices, se should optimize and add a little improvement such as:
-password to protect inbox or some folder
-adjustable backlit timing
-jogdial scrolling step (1/2/3 space)
-periodic sms alert
-ajdustable processor speed v performance
-play caller name
-etc
Im sure that little EXTRA will makes everyone happy
