Mostly the prices are very high at the beginning. And my assumption that most of us won't buy new phone just after release was because a lot of people here was talking about that. And I know there is a lot of people who can afford buying new phone right now but there is much more who need to colect money to buy it.

No probs mate well leave it at that. After all were all here for one reason right - a new phone.
Well I for one am sick of waiting but sadley that doesnt help. I just hope that im not left feeling disatisfied after the next announcment as ultimatley my next phone will be either a new SE or the Iphone.

Again, for one more time, no announcements or presentation of new phones. SE has dissapoint me a lot this year. It seems that this company just doesn't want to become no1 or no2. Third or fourth place in mobile market seems to be enough for them. Untill now only one high-end device )P1i) which we not even now when it will be available ot its price.
What a dissapointment for all of SE fans......
P.S.: Is anyboby know when the next announcement will be? And I don'tmean rumours but a true date....

I think SE didn't dissapointed you. They never said they are going to announce new phones on 28th or 29th of may. It was just our speculations from stupid fcc document. We are so desperate to see new phones that we cannot see that most of information about this was hoax.
I hope the real contacts bring some new info about announcement and new phones from SE.

I dont' think anyone on here can be 100% sure of an announcement date.
I have been told a date before and watched the date come and go with nothing.
Plus, when you consider decisions to announce a new phone can be changed at the last minute - we would have to have a direct contact at boardroom level in order to be 100% sure.

even without those ridiculous announcements, i am happy with the current SE lineups especially the upcoming P1, anyway the M600's latest firmware proved me that i should wait for a better upgrade than the lizzy and , same as aofia and shinobu. and AFAIK, shaliron did not mention exact facts of an announcement as confirmable as the one it did on the May 8.

Totally disagree. We are almost in the middle of the year and what special has SE announsed? p1? Come on. And what about K800 successor? Till last year, CEBIT was the event for SE and we could see what we should expect for the following months. now what? Only P1. And I bet that if the retail price of P1 is going to be at about 600 euro (as it is rumoured) it will be a big dissapointment...At that time N95 will also be at 600 euro (or even a little bit less) and I am sure that 90% of highend users will go for N95. I am a SE fan but I am not blind. I always look for the best phone I can get compared to the money.
Despite SE started this year with big plans and announcements of 30-40 devices it seems that something gone wrong in the way......
Personally I will change my phone (K800) on August. I hope that SE will give me something to take my money....Otherwise NOKIA will do.

Well, that's an idea! Let's call the K850 "Sofia Forever" from now on!
Seriously, though, anyone who really believed SE was going to announce the k850 now just fooled themselves. I think Sofia is the most delayed product in SE history since the P990.
I also believe, with a market changing so rapidly, by now we could even forget about the Sofia codename and consider it a canceled product. If rumors are true and Sofia is UIQ, the final k850i will be something completely different than what Sofia originally was planned to be.

i think from now on it is better for people not to leak anymore info or start a rumor thread regarding upcoming handphones...this thread must be closed... so people dont know what phone will be announce... so they will stop moaning and shut up waiting for the announcement.... the more info they get the more they get excited... when it is not announced on the date dat sumbody assume they get angry... so from now on info bout upcoming se phones should not be told to any1... just keep it to ur self... then ppl will shut up.... i dont understand why people get angry when SE dont announce sofia or sumthing else earlier....... it is the info they got by themself... not given by SE... it is not like an SE representative say they going to release sofia... it is just info from insiders.... i dunno what to say...... ppl who are not happy with SE, stop complaining... if u want to complain, write a letter or send an email to the boss.... or gather all unhappy customers to go to SE headquarter and create a riot..... or better still bomb the headquarter for not listening to u!!

there is nothing wrong with me man... it is with the ppl who can stop complaining about an announcement.... that is y i suggest the insiders to the info to themselves... so ppl not would assume a date for announcement of this or that handphone and get dissapointed again... it is not se dat dissapoint them.... it is themself who cant stop complaining like "im very dissapointed with se bye bye se..." and things like that..... cause they put too high hope on ppl whose telling grandmas stories like "there is going to be an announcement this 28" based on the document of the bluetooth headset without thinking logically... y would they want to have 2 announcement in a month?

As I understand it this is about rumors not a general chitchat thread. So can we stay on topic. No questions about anything announced and no "Sofia not out me get N95 yum yum" posts. When checking this thread on wap and you see 60+ posts since you last check you think wow something big happened then it turns out to be all gripes and general chitchat.
Somebody said something about an invite to an announcement, did anyone else? Now that's solid info and that's what makes a solid date. The date was June 15 I believe or was it July? Anyway that got so little coment and people are still ranting about today not featuring an announcement despite nobody getting invites to it.

Guys I wouldn't get too hyped up about the May 8 announcement. Whilst I reckon there will be phones announced, I don't think that the Sofia will be announced. It's going to be released in Sep/Oct, so such an early announcement is unlikely IMO. I'm expecting Shinobu, Nicole, and perhaps some UIQ phones.
Also, here's what the phones look like:
Shinobu
Note the calling keys, gaming buttons and base which is similar to W580.
Nicole
Nicole is also 3G. So it's probably a successor to the K610. Like a generic W660.
Note that they have that SE watermark which was also found on the W850 spy pics which were leaked close to the announcement.
Shinobu sounds like the W850/W900 successor. And a nice large screen
Perhaps W910?

W850/W900 successor. Slider, 2MP fixed focus camera, 12.5mm thick, 2.4" QVGA screen and HSDPA. Pick up/Hang up keys, gaming keys, and base similar to W580. Cost should be roughly €430. - Nicole
K610 successor. Candybar, 2MP fixed focus camera, 13mm thick, 2" 176x220 screen, and 3G. Pick up/Hang up keys. Has the Sagem UI. Cost should be roughly €190. - Sofia will cost around €485.

Because, that was what SE thought would fit their criteria for that mobile phone design when they considered other factors such as price, size, quantity and other stuff which I'm sure I've missed.
It's not because SE does not have the capability to produce a larger sensor, it's because through their R&D and opinions from many people in the industry, they know that their decision makes sense and fits their current goal.
Why don't you ask Toyota to stop producing cars with small engines and follow the Americans and build cars with big fuel guzzling engines? Or ask Airbus to change their Fly-By-Wire system to allow Pilots to have the final say?

Do you actually notice that this is a rumors thread? Grumblings about going and buying an N95 should be here and neither is asking questions about the P1 or Symbian. There is a discussion for the P1.

Yeah, Memory Stick Micro cards come with a Memory Stick Pro Duo adapter so they work with W800, W900, K750, etc.

my pinpoint isthat, i am using M600 and the P1 fascinates me because P1 have features i don't have in M600, yeah P990 has most of those features for a couple of years already, yet it's bulky and i dont want to have some brick in my pocket and P1 addresses my scream
it's just my opinion you know, so if you disagree, then fine but i'm not a blind. you said you will choose N95 for it's lower price and better features than P1 but P1 will make more quality for it's solid construction unlike N95. and let me tell you the fact that SE phones have lower depreciation value than nokia so even if ever P1 comes released earlier than N95 but for sure still N95's price drops down faster. i hope you understand that
anyway i agree that most of the "High-end" users will favor the Nokia N95, but the "quality-intended" high-end users will favor
P1 the poor battery and awful construction is just too much to be ignored by most users while software problems can be fixed with updates in both parties. i H P E you understand my opinion

u sure N95's price will drop faster??? i have a feeling theres going to be a limit to how much it drops in a year...n i highly doubt its going to speed like a bullet since theres many phones which can't even compare up to it atm.
