OK, so, again, as expected, no Sofia.
I am not even disappointed anymore. It's funny how some people "understand" why the k850 is being pushed back all the time claiming that the k810 has "just hit the stores". LOL. The only problem is no one cares, at least the customers and SE competitors don't.
If, even for just a minute, I would accept this reasoning from an internal SE marketing point of view, meaning, not to crush the sales of k810 by announcing something better so soon, I still can't ignore the fact that Nokia is already selling a 5 megapixel phone for weeks now.
I always loved SE for their design and technical innovation.
On the design front I don't really like the way they are going. The W880 and the S500 are gorgeous, but the P1 looks like an 80's Casio watch and the T650 is just simply boring (not to mention the T250.)
On the technical side they are now very clearly behind by at least 2-3 quarters. They've lost the cameraphone crown (try explaining to Average Joe that 3.2 megapixels is better than 5.0), the walkman feature is very easy to mimic, it's just a glorified MP3 player after all, and there is no major advancement on the display front either.
I think I'll just keep my K750 as long as it's working. None of the current SE models are a real upgrade worth spending hundreds of Euros on.

I think what xumdeo meant was that... the team who worked on T650 are also behind the development of sofia...and leaking this team's projects is tough.

You do know that a lot of manufacturers do it. Look at Nokia and their constant leaks of the Luna, N93i and E61i. Those aren't by accident either. Leaks are to arouse interest - or keep interest going. Or Motorola.
But anyway here's my take on these announcements.
- The T series resurrected. We are still yet to see the T920/1, but at least this means that they look more plausible.
But what does 'T' mean? My guess, thin candybars (that don't fit into the series).
- The S500 is not Shinobu.
- The T650 seems to be that generic Ai that was talked about many months ago. Didn't seem plausible at the time, but it's another indicator that SE is holding back Sofia.
- The Cybershot series is becoming more exclusive. AF doesn't cut it anymore. So to be a Cyber-shot phone, the phone will have to have lens cover, BestPic, and the variety of other software extras.
- SE has well and truly joined the thin race. Not one phone more than 17mm thick this year (apart from the Z750).

continuing the index discussion, so T and S series is for 'emotional' range? and so is Z series? why 3 indexes for a single range? wouldn't that be confusing in a very Nokia way? or is the 3 defining their form factor? that would be new, I don't see the W series doing that.

more of a 'back to the basics' than something new:
ordinary phones (no brand)
T - Candybar
S - Swivel/Slider
Z - Clamshell
we've seen it before, right?
plus branded phones (K, W, etc.), that makes sense and is more like
evolution than revolution

Right after seeing the "FAKE" sofia pics a couple of months back and just see-ing the pic of the T650 make me think that the fake sofia pics are actually REAL after all with the similar design and being the same person whos working on the K850 the same as T650 its pretty obvious what were going to see.

Ridahz, I completely agree. After seeing the T650, those prototype pics of that 5MP camera phone could very well be Sofia/K850i.
I can't wait till Sofia is released. So it looks like the October release date is probably true since all of the recent announcements will be out between July-September, IE T650, S500, P1i, Z750i, etc.

Having read most of this topic and looking at the new phones which are very good and i will be buying a couple of them i have to ask some people in here are you ever satisfied se are doing a great job what are you moaning about you wont ever be happy will you this time next year you will be moaning again and again at christmas do you not have anything else to worry about just be happy with what you got you know something else will come this year or next year just wait

The S500 is the only model appealing! the P1 is too much a business sad phone,the t650 is nice but with a ridiculous 1.9'' screen...
The menus and look of the S500 are so nice!! it's too bad the camera doesn't have AF and the screen is still in the 2006 standars
I will wait till end june to see the prices of the n95 and the S500 on that time,if the difference is small sorry SE!
