I think it is to do with pricing.
Obviously thought the W880i was a bit special as it had its very own flash site etc. But that didn't stop the W610i from being announced and you could argue that it is just a repackaged W850i or W810i.
But lets wait and see anyway.

Heres my problem with todays announcements.
K810i- I can see myself buying this, If, it gains 850 US 3G and Edge. It is just what i wanted, a K790a, in a slimmer more attractive package.
K550i- Also beautiful, but its the same thing as my w810i, but slimmer, and not walkman branded.
W610i- definately the same thing as my w810i but slimmer.
W880i- Slim w810i without auto focus.
It seems like they took the same phones, give or take a few features and shoved them in small metal packages......

I think the bigger question we should consider is how we can all go get jobs as phone designers. Seriously, how much effort did it take to basically release the same phones in slightly(arguably) better packaging? I want that job. I am mostly dissappointed because there wasn't anything really new in these phones just a slightly different button layout which not everyone is a fan of.

w850 - (FM + LED) = w880
I'd say taking away features and putting in slimmer metal casing.

i knew the high end models wouldnt be announced today,was kinda obvious.I think SE are using a "save the best till last" strategy which is a good idea.K810 was a surprise though and it does look a lot nicer than the K800 with its Mobiado style keypad.Hope jedi-master is right though about an announcement nxt week at 3gsm.

I still can't understand why people are so down on today announcement. Most people were expecting just the W880i and maybe Li/Na (K550i/W610i). Instead we got some other phones as well and people complain. Would you have been happier if just those 3 were announced? Next week at 3GSM is where the big guns are coming out.
