The K550 is not a Cyber-shot phone. The K550 has a fixed focus 2MP camera. This is the K770; and has a 2MP AF camera.

@dr_thug
That's the brother to the W770 (which I believe is basically a W810 in a thinner shell).

@axilom
Oh OK.

Well, I personally like the looks of this phone a lot. I like the use of metal and blue accents. The back looks pretty good, except for the funny mirror and LED diodes.

And the W770 looks quite nice as well.

@cristiano
I don't think he was guaranteeing anything. He said:
Quote:

It remains to only hope that, as in the case with K310i, for the change to which left K320i with support Bluetooth, in Sony Ericsson W200i will appear the version "W210i", equipped with this module.

But I'll add it. I wouldn't be surprised to see a W210 anyway.

@macpersil
Really? I'm not too surprised, but where did you hear that?

@S4k1s
Any more to add?

I'm looking forward to 3GSM and seeing a lot of new phones Sofia has to be there.

Why are SE spending money on pointless things like this??

this is only a gimmick to appeal to the OL and highschool girls market

and it doesn't cost any money really to SE, just slide another piece of paper under the exchangeable facets, no big deal

don't take that so seriously, check out the rest of the design of the phone

Sony Ericsson asks contract handset makers to focus on ultra-slim designs : Six new handsets to start shipping in 2nd Quarter 07

Confirmation of the above:
Quote:
In order to further strengthen its competitiveness in the emerging markets, Sony Ericsson is expected to adjust its strategy by outsourcing production of its mid-tier handsets to Taiwan makers, and demand that the contract makers focus on ultra-slim designs as well as adding multimedia functions to the handsets, the sources stated.

Under this new policy, Sony Ericsson has placed orders for four new models with Taiwan-based Arima Communications, and another two new models with Chi Mei Communication Systems (CMCS), with the two local companies expected to begin shipping the new products to Sony Ericsson in the second quarter of 2007, according to the sources.

So six new phones to launch in the second quarter from the Taiwanese factories alone.

Does this also mean that more than one ultra-slim design is on the way?

My Prototype of the Z610i has a software, that says it's called E530i.

Posted by cristiano
so the z310 could be e510

Posted by Macpersil
I think so!

Those photos are fakes...
The "SonyEricsson" lettering doesn't match the real one.

Posted by goldenface
Yeah, I noticed that. Especially the 'y'.

Posted by JogaB
When will W770 be out on the market do you think?

Posted by bavlondon2
Is it known yet if any handycam or video orientated model will come out this year?

Sony Ericsson screens its Bravia TV-phone
19/01/2007

We've been feeling the Walkman and Cyber-shot love from Sony Ericsson phones. With the success of the mobile merger with its parent's music and photography lines, the handset manufacturer has been unstoppable. So we weren't too surprised when it announced that it was yanking yet another Sony brand for a mobile makeover. Meet the Bravia TV-phone, which uses a display based on the Bravia technology.

Scheduled for launch this June, the Japan-only SO903iTV offers a 3-inch widescreen with a slide function for horizontal TV viewing. There's also time-shift video recording for a more complete TV experience, aside from the standard 2-megapixel CMOS camera and microSD card slot.

Now all we have to do is cross our fingers really hard, and what do you know? Pigs might fly, and a similar TV-phone model could be coming soon to our fair shores.

For one the screen is too big. And then I don't think they use tin foil on phones.

Posted by janosik
shit
this is Fake!!

Posted by rlaffoon
that is not a fake

it is the m600 or w950 successor with a camera-----

they have put foil on it to cover the buttons and basically for a teaser photo of sofia or whatever they are calling her

Posted by xumdeo
it might be a fancy version of pranks like this

There is no Sony.
It's Sony Ericsson

@Yessir
No more swivels from Sony Ericsson.

@Residentevil
That's an interesting comment, and I don't agree entirely TBH.

Nokia will still have the most power packed, and highly spec'd phones. The N95 will probably have the M600/P990 successor as its main competitor, and that's 'only' got a 3.2MP camera.
And the Handycam (which may have similar specs to the N93 I'd believe) is coming a little late in comparison the N93.

This year, SE will probably lag behind in the high end smartphone area. But I still think they'll have the overall better products. Well rounded for the intended audience.

UPDATE:

Wikipedia has a good description of DSPs. But AFAIK, a DSP was found on the N91.

one uiq phone will be shown at 3gsm...maybe 2....

expect 5+ smartphones from this year.

Lizy (silver, maybe metal, same size as m600 maybe a little thicker because of added wifi) and Maria and Elena, 1 or 2 non-touch screen phones and who knows, maybe we see another p series phone....

@shaliron

OMG! Now i can say that i already love sofia!!

Posted by iqtidar
Cristiano

is it true? if its true ill sell my phone.

Posted by >500
no its NOT true....I wish....

Thats only the specs for what the goforce 5500 can handle and when its used to its full potential....

Sofia will only record qvga video at 30fps.....

The graphics chip wont be used to its full potential in sofia, especially since sofia is smaller than the k800...Otherwise if it was used to full potential the phone would be quite large, just like the n93 size.
