I can't get any e-mails sent off my phone only receive them please pls tell me the e-mail server you use and how its set up ie:outgoing and incoming address
other wise I'm gonna take the phone back....
pls pls help

It's just like on a T68, you need to use the phonecompanys
smtp, not your mail smtp as you do on a pc.

Oki, I think I've found the solution. I got it working for me atleast, using a pop3 e-mail account connected trough GPRS. In the e-mail settings I have to choose my GPRS INTERNET settings(same settings you use when using the 7650 as a modem) instead of my GPRS WAP settings. And also, I have to change my IP to; 0.0.0.0. Hope this helps!
Cheers

You can have the IP set for wap, just go to advanced settings, and type in DNS address.
That way it works like a dream for me.
Posted by Raven
@Froddan
Where can you find those settings in the 7650?
Posted by Froddan
Highlight the IP address -> options -> advanced settings

Yeah but i use genie and all i want to do is send e-mail free from wap and with my t68 i could do that but not with this phone and it's pissing me off could someone put really simple for me as i don't really understand

Hmm.. Thanks m8. My IP is set to dynamic and when I open it, IP adress is set to 0.0.0.0. And below IP-adress telephone I have two server settings which are also set to 0.0.0.0. So what exactly should I put in here? And btw, it works the way it's now. Did not work before...

@Animal
Maybe this link can help you out m8 http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3353&highlight=email+client
Btw, you might wanna check out the whole 7650 forum. You'll find just about anything you ever wanted to know 'bout the 7650 and more...

Thank m8 i will when i get home you see i've just resently got this phone and don't really understand it ill tell you the out comes ps nokia 7650 rules shame about the memory boho

@Animal, You have the e-mail settings from your operator right, and an e-mail account? And did you try what I suggested before?
Posted by Froddan
I have the phone IP 0.0.0.0 And DNS from the settings to internet, from your phonecompany.
Mine are 130.244.127.161 and 130.244.127.169 (comviq, Sweden)
Are you using gsm or gprs? On the data account of your mail setting,
copy the DNS address to the above mentioned DNS field in your 7650,
you can use the same account as you use for wap.
Posted by Raven
@Froddan, I have GPRS and I cannot find the DNS settings anywhere, but I'll check with my operator(NetCom) and try it out! Thanks.
Posted by Raven
.... But it shouldn't mind that I use GPRS PC instead of GPRS WAP as an access point, should it? It isn't really any differences are there? - Cost-wise and everything..

Oh, sorry. The first part was to you, the second part was to animal
My phone language is Swedish, but hey you're Norwegian, so på svenska...
Gå till verktyg -> inställningar -> anslutning -> kopplingspunkter ->
IP adress -> val -> avancerat -> primär/sekundär server.
Använd samma kopplingspunkt som du har för wap.
På t68:an har du ett datakonto för mail, med DNS adress, skriv in den
på primär på 7650:n.
Det bör funka perfectomento

There shouldn't be any bigger diff, unless there are wap specified apps
on your network. Although there might be slightly bigger d/l using pc
settings instead of wap, wml and html config and so on...

Oki, Froddan, I've tried changing my DNS-settings now; did not work. I still have to connect through GPRS internet to send e-mail. Same thing I have to do to use the WebViewer and the Oplayer. Just won't work with my WAP settings(even though I changed DNS settings). Only thing that works with my WAP settings is......WAP! hehe...

Ok, highlight your "ACCESS POINT" select "CHANGE" or "EDIT" (I don't know the exact words cause I use norwegian) and then you have to choose "EDIT" or "CHANGE" again, and then you have to scroll down to the bottom where you'll see; IP-adress gateway; CHANGE THIS TO 0.0.0.0. Hope it helps...

@ Raven
That's odd. Maybe your network has disabled it?
Anyway, no bigger deal if it worked before.
@ animal
What data account settings do you use on your t68?
You need an IP or DNS to internet, not wap.
Posted by ani( ! )al
yeah I used to use them on my t68i
are you saying I can't do this without going on the internet on the phone or having to pay for it ie not using o2 wap???
Posted by Froddan
@ animal
I'm not sure, I've never used dial up just gprs. Dont they have the settings on their homepage?
Posted by Raven
I'm translating from norwegian so the words might be a little different in english, but here goes:
Open the TOOLS folder in the menu.
Open SETTINGS.
Open CONNECTIONS(INTERNET ACCSESS).
Open CONNECTION POINTS(ACCSESS POINTS).
Highlight your access point and select EDIT.
Scroll down to IP-ADRESS GATEWAY and select EDIT.
Type in 0.0.0.0.
This is one suggestion...

i've change the waps gateway ip to 0.0.0.0 and it still says general system error
Posted by Raven
Well, then... The only other thing I can think of is that you have to use your regular dialup account for your PC instead of WAP-dial up. Anyway I'm sure there must be a way to get it to work! Did you check out link I provided before?

@ animal
On your t68, what was the DNS or IP # you used for the data account
for the mail access?
Posted by ani( ! )al
194.237.106.73
Posted by Froddan
That's the wap account, in the wap menu. But what's the data
account, in the data communication menu?
You have most likely used IP 0.0.0.0 and a DNS ?.?.?.?
That's the same one you have to use in the field that Raven pointed
out.
Posted by ani( ! )al
0.0.0.0 is DNS
plus wheres data communication menu?

Yea, it's a quite good one. I haven't heard about that memory thingy, but I'm really not bothered by the lack of it anyway. I've never used half of the memory available in it so far.
Posted by ani( ! )al
what???? you haven't got doom on the phone yet it's a must...all though it like half of the nokia memory gone straight away
after deleteing doom I'm left with 4mb's not 3.4mb or what ever its meant to be......wierd???????????????
Posted by Froddan
No, I'm not that into gaming
I have the web viewer, world clock, seleq ximplify, joykick...
But mostly I use it to take quick snapshots, for my work,
and as my PIM.
For now my mem status is, used mem 1432kB, free mem 2660kB, which
adds up as ~4MB. Guess it's as much as it's meant to be...

Hey guys....
Could u tell me.....does the 7650 support email attachments? Can i view an attachment in an email?
If i was sent a java software (webviewer for example) could i open and run it from the phone?
Thanks guys.
Posted by bingo
You can download Java midlets direct to your phone and install and run them without needing a PC.
Check out midletcentral.com, that can email the midlet to you - so if you specify your "mobile" email address it goes direct to your phone! Cool!
You can open email attachments, but it depends what type of attachment it is and what software you've installed. I couldn't find a Word or Excel viewer/editor so I could receive the attachment, but couldn't do anything with it from the phone.
