as topic says:
http://forums.se-nse.net/inde[....]wtopic=4956&st=20&gopid=69792&

see 3rd last post.....its from mobile review, that guy (xumdeo) usually is very accurate with his info, he has given us info on many phone on mob review before they are released, and that info has been true....
He has said new Japanese phone/s will be announced, and he also said that one phone has been travelling from Europe to Asia, but is not sure whether it will be for us or japan only

And also off Mobile Review (eldar) / se-nse, this is different info here to the above, its seperate to the announcement info :

Eldar says new cybershot will match Nokias offering in June release, same time as k800i release....
http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtopic=5289

code name = Elena, and has wifi, though i dont think this will be in the new cybershot, im guessing it will be some sort of smartphone maybe.......

have a read things are looking good, even if it is just the start of a new rumour...

ill post the original thread from Mobile review, just looking for it now...

again, Japan proves to be superiour

Posted by goldenface
I agree.

This SO903i makes the Samsung D900 look like an old broken down old gramophone.

Posted by JAGUY85
Why can't Sony Ericsson make similar ones for everywhere else? Is it that hard?

This message was posted from a 6230

Posted by goldenface
Even the video has 4x digital zoom with stabilisaiton and the speakers are quite large for a mobile.

Edit: Why isn't this Walkman Branded or is that exclusive to the operator AU?

No one can BEAT the Japs when it comes to celfone technology mates They had this 3G fones yeeeeeeears ago (mid-90's) !

Posted by goldenface
Actually this is Walkman branded, according to the site I looked at anyway.

It has a music only playback time of a massive 45hrs, thats nearly 2 days. It also has Album Art and BestPic.

It also has as so called 'lifetime calendar" or diary where you can link pics taken with the camera to event in the calendar.

Good stuff!

Posted by QVGA
What is the reason that SE doesnt release those phones to the rest of the world? Dont they know it'll boost their sales?

Posted by goldenface
@QVGA

We've had threads before discussing this.

I think the technology moves along in Japan faster because the life cycle of a product is a lot shorter and companies have to bring out something new relatively quickly in order to remain competitive.

Actually i think South Korean is the world leader in cell phone technology. Only they have 10mpx camera phones...

Posted by goldenface
@Daisun

I wouldn't say being able to squeeze 10mp+ in a cam phone is an indication of how advanced a cellphone is.

Some Japanese handsets now have face recognition.

Mobile wallet tech and fingerprint recognition technology has been around there for years so I would honestly put Japan at the forefront of mobile tech. Take a look the the NTTDocomo product site.

Posted by Bandit
@Daisun

I think the JPs got the KRs licked on this one mate. Korean phones are still trying to beat everyone on existing technology. ie, 10mpx camphones. existing technology. JPs movin' above and beyond. Playing with face recognition and whatnot as stated.

For a country to be 'technologically advanced' is to push the envelope and develop NEW things. In terms of mobile tech. What NEW thing have the KRs introduced? Not the first for camphones, not the first for smartphones, not the first for UIQ, not the first for WiFi.

Don't get me wrong. What the KRs have done is extremely impressive, and I'm blown away by some of the new KR innovations and designs. I just wouldn't say that they're way ahead of anyone in mobile tech.

that back is sure svelte! i hope they made the W850/W830 back that minimalistic instead. the light diode in the w850/w830 back looks out of place. to me, anyway

the japanese market is rapidly advancing
i dont understand y SE invents such gr8 fones for jpn market only

The 'lifetime calendar'

Posted by QVGA
So, any news yet?

Posted by rss_ndrsn
Life Calendar is SE's version of Nokia's life Blog.?

Anyway, the specification is really mind blowing. It may not have Wi-fi or built-in GPS reciever but it has the combined features of Cybershot, Walkman and Bravia!

I hope the European version would be announced soon.

Rumored announcement. Was that for Japan only?

Posted by >500
@qvga

yeah that was my bad, sorry It was indeed for Japan only...

but there was a very minor rumour it was a world announcement....

However, Xumedo from Mobile Review did state that one phone, different to the one announced recently, had been travelling between Europe and Asia, but he couldnt make anything from it.....

Well, now we have to watch for new cybershot rumours (phone due next may/june same as k800i etc), which Eldar says will compete with Nokia's offerings, and also Elena, a wi-fi phone, though thats all ive read so far....

Eldar said there was 3 phones, but did not comment on any specs or anything

My fingers are crossed

im just wondering what the phone is that Xumdeo said is being transported from Europe to Asia on a regular basis....

It looks as though SE is getting better security wise, we havent seen any pics of anything or rumoured specs really..... i remember the k750 days where photos were being leaked quite easily...but nothing now-a-days

Nice lens cover!

Why is the fastport on the side? or am i looking at it wrong?

Posted by Residentevil
What's up with that low budget advertisment. Ruins the hole picture.

Posted by Aware
Fastport on the side - maybe due to a M2 slot on the bottom? Defo some reason, as the mic is on the front panel(between 'cyber shot' panel and bottom keys, just above 'ho' in 'shot')......

more info on this pictured phone here:
http://forum2.mobile-review.com/showthread.php?t=55525

and

http://forum2.mobile-review.c[....]thread.php?p=483744#post483744

so looks like an upgraded k510, or perhaps a slightly upgraded k750i in different design? Has some hints of k610i too in its design...

and remember people, 3GSM is next week!!!! It starts October 16th hopefully we will see more phones at that event, only 1 day to see what se has come up with, if they are announcing anything though....

ok, im starting to find more and more pages on this phone:
http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtopic=5328
http://www.newmobile.nl/eur/en/news.php?news_id=d99b16

Eldar says specs are:
-2 mp camera with autofocus(produced possibly by samsung?!!!)
-display of larger size than k750,with qvga resolution.
-support of m2.
-smaller size compared to k790/k800
it will be the successor of the best-seller k750,and will be a direct competitor to the nokia 6233,even the price will be identical!

again from Eldar:
The same camera as in W800i/K750i

phone positioning on the same lvl as Nokia 6233 with the same price
JP7 platform inside - it is k800 with other camera

Also, it will be some improvements

W- series will have Walkamn 2 player

Please do read the links i have posted to see these comments from others, this copy and pasting i am doing is annoying lol

Sounds like a nice phone. Don't say you hate the design, cos remember the reactions against the K800?
Really, a nice counter against the Nokia 6233, which really had no competitors apart from the K610 which just couldn't beat its screen quality.
I don't mind the slew of mid range phones, it's good for building up a company's profile. Really, who's going to get the N75 apart from a few gadget guys?

Posted by >500
@shal

i think you mean the n95

Well, its design is quite nice, though i dont know about the buttons....good to see its screen is qvga and 2 inch....if only the k750 had that....
