I must say, this is a great product. It worked perfectly and the voice recognition was superb. That was until
update the software on the T68i from R2 to R5. Now my $220 carkit is absolutely useless. It refuses to sync the phonebook on the T68i and I cannot use voice control AT ALL. It looks like changed something fundemental in the BlueTooth / Sync programming.
So I contacted
tech support in South Africa. A week has gone by and I am still waiting for a 'data specialist' to phone me back. Also took my phone to the nearest service centre, but after a day they told me they cant downgrade the software, my phone needs to be sent away for a couple of WEEKS 
. Noot good.
Worse of all is I can probably flash the phone myself, but then I need the flash cable and the R2F firmware (any donations welcome
Another option is to flash the CK3000 self I have been told. Not 100% sure this will solve the problem though. But I am not in the mood of buying a $50 cable to do it. (Thats almost R550!!! without shipping). Now if I can only find a place in SA that sells a BlueTooth adpater then I can flash the CK3000 using my notebook, but alas BlueTooth in SA has only reached cellphones. Kinda useless eh ?
So I have this theory.
warrants that the phone is without defects and operates 'normally'. Now if the phone worked when R2 firmware was loaded, and now all of a sudden it doesn't with R5 doesn't that constitute them replacing the phone ??
I'll probably send the phone away for 2 weeks... but I cant live without my phone!!! And I am not guaranteed that
will fix this in upcoming firmware releases. So I probably will never upgrade again.

That is really scary. I bought my T68i primarily so that I could install CK3000. I have a R3x version. Haven't ordered CK300 yet, however. I hope your travail is remedied by SE, please do post your progress!!

There are other threads on here about the R5D upgrade.
It sounds like SOME people who have had the upgrade have had BT problems afterwards.

That is why, for the moment you have to use the voice recognition of the T68i,
If you have the possibity to downgrade the SW, then you can. However, we're working on another SW which will be ready soon,

Yes, I got the same reply. Seems
screwed up the bluetooth in the new software. Anyhow, the ONLY way to downgrade your software is to do it yourself by buying a flashing cable and credits to load earlier firmware. Then of course, you still need to find the earlier firmware. And you can completely screw your phone if it's not done right. service centres cannot downgrade firmware using their terminals and flashing software. So you have the option of sending it in for service, if asked for a reason just say your bluetooth is non-functional. If you are lucky you will get a new phone with older firmware. DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR FIRMWARE IF YOU HAVE A CK3000! This is fatal. Hopefully the next release (R6) of the T68i software will fix it, as it seems is aware of the problem. But don't try the software until someone else confirms that the CK3000/:BT: problem has been fixed.

Well, I went to my SonyEricsson service point again, and they said that is impossible to downgrade the SW of the T68i. So I have gone to my Parrot installer and I have upgraded the CK3000 to the last SW version (2.32 now) and the hands free works now.
I must use the T68i voice recognition and its address book, but the sincronizations problems and the annoying 'beeps' after every call have disappeared.
I think its a provisional solution till Parrot develops his fully compatible SW with the R5D007.

I've upgraded for twice in my installer/solder for free, but you can upgrade by yourselve. This is what Parrot says:
To make an upgrade, you have to use the flash kit.
This one costs 53.36€ VAt excluded.

I have used the new software (v2.4) for the past week and the sync now does work but only when you go to the parrot menu. When you try to enter the menu, it will try to sync then. Everything seems to work fine except the word spotting function. This is where you can say a word (such as telephone) and the kit will mute the stereo and allow you to voice dial or answer an incoming call. I can't seem to get this to work at all. It'll be interested to know whether you guys have the same problems.

I wish I found this forum a while ago. I have a CK 3000 (v2.20) and it worked great with my T68i (I do not know which firmware it was, I bought it in July 2002). I upgraded my T68i to R5D and then all the sh*t began.....
I send the CK3000 to Parrot for upgrading and was promised the newest software version (v2.40) but somehow they send me a completely new unit (ok that was nice) but with v2.32, so sending it to France had little use since I still cannot use it (although it makes a nice paparweight on my desk). PLUS I read that someone had flashed his CK3000 via a cable to v2.40 and this does not solve all the issues, it does operate with voicedialling and syncing (which you need to initiate manually BTW) but starting and ending a call through speech is not supported, the BT-connection is always on now (resulting in more powerusage and thus draining the battery) and some other minor problems.
Also upgrading of your CK3000 with a BT-dongle cannot be done (believe me I tried), you need another CK3000 control box which is connected via cable with your PC, this 'updater-CK3000' then needs special software to be able to upgrade the other CK3000.
I read that SE has released R6A, does anybody know if this will bring a solution to this problem? Has anybody already upgraded to R6A and tested it with the CK3000?
Also I found two bugs in the CK3000 and was wondering if other users have experienced them also:
- If I and the other party press the 'end' button at the same time (this happens more often then you would think) the CK3000 locks up, not releasing the phone mute and is completely inoperable. I really need to cut the power off and on to get it working again.
- If editing contacts on my existing entries it sometimes does not sync properly with the CK3000, resulting in double entries and I need to delete and add the contacts another time.

Well having read all this, I think I'll just stick to my R2B firmware. Afterall the new releases dont improve the phone that much. Also upgrading my CK3000 is out of the question (hoped I could do it just using a BT dongle). Parrot had this to say:

Hmmm 51.60 Euros just for shipping!!!!!! That is ludicrous. Disadvantages of living so far from other techie countries. *sigh* Anyhow... i'll just stick with the current config until someone can tell me SE released firmware that fixes the incompatibilities with CK3000.

The latest SW 2.40 does use the wordspotting with the former mobiles like T39 and T68.
For the T68i, the wordspotiing could not be supported,

Does the caller id function also works with v2.40 again (if someone calls you your own voicesample of his name is played back)? And can you use the 'work'/'mobile'/'GSM' feature of the adressbook? Because the way you describe it it seams to me that you cannot use the Parrot menu and this is needed to use these feature.

I do know that with V2.40 on the CK3000 it does support Work, Mobile etc. I am not to sure about caller id announcment. I'll check it here in a bit and repost.

Has anyone used the T69i and CK300 combination in the US? Any problems? I have the T68i and am thinking of getting the CK300.
If you are in the US and have this setup, where did you get the CK300 from? I know i can order it from expansys but my last few orders took forever to ship even though it was in stock so am not too happy with them

Personally if I could do it over I would get the Ericsson HCB-30. The CK3000 is having issues with Spot Wording at this time. They claim they are working on it but do not have a fix date.

T68i vR5A020 with PARROT CK v2.4
The Parrot free hand has 2 weeks old. The function of Voice Dialling works perfect; I can dial with the previous record voice of my T68i.
The sound through the speakers car is very clear and when I speak the voice is similar that speaking with the phone.
Only I have a little problem. It's the contacts of the Parrot phone book; the synchronization doesn't work correctly, but however I use the voice dialling of the T68i, I don't need use it.

Yes it does work for voice dialing, however one of the advertised benefits were voice answering, busy etc. it still does NOT support this. I just ordered the Ericsson solution, I should have waited for it to come out.
Anyone in USA want to purchase a used CK3000 have manual etc.

Well, I have a new Parrot CK3000, from expansys, who despite me putting a note on the order that I need 2.4 firmware sent me one with 2.32

before I ordered all this, they said, bluetooth car kit would work fine, but R2Bxx was old code and I needed the latest on my T68, so I now have R6A013! as of last Wednesday.
I can confirm this does not work reliably with 2.32, it took me 5 attempts to get it paired with the T68, and it sometimes works, sometimes does not connet. Voice dial does not work, and I clearly need 2.4.
I am trying to get 2.4 on the parrot now, expansys are trying to shug all responsiblity for shipping me old stock (despite me putting the request ON MY ORDER!) so I will have to see. 56Euros is steep for serial cable though
Waiting for email back from parrot to see what they have to say. Can't go HCB-30, becuase I want to use it with my Nokia 6310i company phone as well, which is why I bought a parrot, becuase Expansys website says it works with both
Oh well, we wait, anyone else got R6 working with 2.4 out there?

You can get an update cable from http://www.mobiland.co.uk for £11 + p&p. I've not used it as yet, but I've ordered one with my order of a CK3000, so I'll let you know how it works when I use it to update the car kit.
Speaking to the person at Mobiland - he said that V3 of the CK3000 was due to be released some time this week, however he's not sure whether this will cover the problems with the T68i as the update was more focused on the P800.
I've just gone back to my T68i (recently been using an SPV - but it was pretty shit), and the firmware it reports is R2E006. What's the latest firmware on the scene? Is it a lot quicker? What benefits are there? I realise that if I get it updated I will have probs with the CK3000 - so I doubt I'll get it flashed until I hear that V3 of the Parrot software will suipport the latest T68i fully.

Ok... recently got myself a P800. Can anyone tell me if the latest version of the Parrot software works with the P800 ?? Cos 2.20 doesn't have voice dialling (only through the phone) or wordspotting.
