Here is the proof that it is water resistant to 30m. Taken from SE manual downloaded from SE web site.

Now 2 weeks clock around and occasionally BT and OLED screen using. The battery still 3/4 charged.

Posted by PeterKay
Battery life seems to be ok then!

Posted by vojta66
Same as Matteus. It will be two weeks tomorrow and battery still from 3/4 charged.

Posted by PeterKay
Thats what i wanted to hear, cheers.

Posted by floatlite
If you leave the BT on the Battery lasts about 1 - 2 days MAX.

I was using it with a M600 and turn off the BT at night and it seems to last as stated.

I am going to try it with the BT off and see what difference I get.

So Bluetooth is the problem, causing the battery to drain like many phones i guess. Would be good if with bt turned on the battery would last a week or more!

Posted by volvoman
To me the solution for battery life would be a separate battery for the watch feature, and another for the bluetooth features that needs to be charged like a headset and so on. I have a Citizen watch, which is the Eco-drive system, where sun light keeps the watch charged all the time and the battery is only there for if the watch is put away unused for along period of time. In theory you should never need to change the battery on the watch, so something similar would be a godd idea in future designs.

Posted by Matteus
I have used the Bt about 30-40 hours and the OLED screen very often. The battery shows 3/4 and the very first charging happened 2 weeks and 2 days ago. The is one week reserve for the clock says SE.

Anyone got a black and silver one, or which does everyone think looks better, SE only seem to have black ones at the moment, but I am used to silver watches, so not to sure whether to go for the black one before they run out of them.

Posted by PeterKay
Watch is Dropping in Price slowly but surely.

Posted by vojta66
After two weeks and two days, battery almost down, bt function terminated, but watch function works. I put to charge anyway. Not bad SE - 16 days of continuous performance!

Posted by PeterKay
Thats not bad at all.

Got mine today, realy good quality, charged up paired with my K800i first time, so far very impressed. Mine is number 07001 would love to have had 07007 some lucky b*****d will have it. Mine is the silver one, bought off ebay from a seller I have used lots of times, bought yesterday at 2pm, arrived this morning 8am. Can not ask for better service. SE said they were expecting stocks of black ones today, but could not take the risk.

Posted by volvoman
OK for all those that need to get the strap adjusted, I did mine today in about 5 mins, very easy, and as some watch shops are charging for this service, then it will save you money as well.
If you look on the back of the strap, you will see arrows. This is the direction you need to knock the pins out to take out links on the strap. I used a large size pin and a heavy knife, the type you use to eat a meal with. Simply place some soft towels on a work bench, and place the watch on this on it's side. You will see that the bottom 4 links on each side of the strap, have little holes in them. Take the pin and knife or what ever you find to use, and tap gently as it only needs slight pressure to do this, and the pin will slide out. I found for me that I only needed to take out one from each side to get a good fit. I will try to take pictures of the operation later and post them up with instructions, but this is mainly to let you know that you can do it yourself for 0 cost.

volvomann thats very helpfull thanks...pictures would be great!

Posted by volvoman
Will try to sort them out later, should have them up by tomorrow, trying to sort out a new laptop, as I have just broken my vaio. Using the wifes vaio at the moment, way better than mine but sony have just about doubled the price from when I bought hers. Will have to load up my camera software on it to sort the photos out.

Posted by PeterKay
cheers volvoman for that, great idea.

Posted by bob2k4
Yeah cheers. Works a treat.

Also before I try it and risk messing anything up does anyone know if you can also use the bluetooth stereo headphones at the same time as the phone being paired with the watch? or can you only do one or the other?

Almost three weeks now using the BTW-100. Battery indicator 3/4. So maybe charging once a month is suitable for me. It needs only 70 minutes for full charge.

My K800i can operate MBW-100 and BT-handfree HBH-30 simultaneously.
I feel the watch to vibrate and then I can receive the call with my BT-handsfree. Ofcourse it stops the walkman automatically.

I am waiting my MBW-100 number 2nd to give it my friend. But are the stores out already?

Posted by mathios
has anyone tried the watch while it is paired with the phone to use a bluetooth headset at the same time? do both work at the same time? e.g the phone rings you see who is calling on the watch but answer the call on a bluetooth headset?

As i said before there is no problem with a BT handsfree and MBW-100 with K800i. You can see and feel the phonecall on your wrist and use the Hf.

Ok never got the pics done the other night, but am in the process of doing them now, will put them on later. As for the bluetooth issue, I have a K800i HBH-300 and the MBW-100 connected all the time, and yes if a call comes in, I can either reject it from the MBW-100 or answer from the headset, and I have the bluetooth power save set to on. If you switch that off, you can have other bluetooth devices connected as well at the same time. I use this if I want my tomtom go 910 connected as well as my headset, or my HCB-100 car speaker and my HBH-300 as well as the MBW-100. As soon as I have the pics done I will post them up.

PeterKay
I have the silver one, nearly got the black one, but got the chance to get the silver one off a seller on ebay who I have dealt with several times, and the service was excellent. Would like to get a black one as well, but will have to see. Must admit, I have had mine since Tuesday morning, charged it up, connected to my K800i, and while out driving have had the bluetooth on but do switch it off when not driving, and it is still full charge now.

Will Sony Ericsson fix the text (sms) notification issue for using the watch with P990 in the coming firmware for P990 or do you think it's an issue with the watch?

Posted by Jah
@callstrum

I have a black version as well - you know these are limited edition. You should a certificate/card to prove this. Have not tested it yet as it will be my Christmas present from my wife

Posted by callstrum
@jah

i do have a silver card which came with the watch, but thought of nothing of it as i assumed every watch would get a cert card.. i have tested it out works a treat, looks very stylish like one of those rado watches but much cheaper

First I must appologise for the very poor quality of the images, I am have problems with cameras and can not seem to get macro mode to work correctly on my camera.
OK first pic is of the arrows on the strap showing the way they face.

This is the direction the pins should be removed.

This pic shows the holes that house the pins, you will need a pin of some description, I used a strong darning pin, and a very small tap hammer to do the job. The pin needs very little force to come free, and it only needs the initial tap or two to move it, then you should be able to slide it out with your fingers. Make sure you put the pin back in the same way it came out, as you will see that the pin has a slightly thicker edge at one end, this is so that it sits securely in the strap. I found only one link on each side needed to be removed, as if you take links out of only one side, the watch will not sit straight on your wrist.

There are four pin holes on each side of the strap, and you only need to remove two pins on each side. I started nearest to the clasp, and took out the first pin then the second, which removes one link.

Any more questions about the strap let me know, and I will see what I can do.

Anyone know what type of battery is in the watch, Lithium polymer or so on.

Posted by PeterKay
Thanks for the pics Volvoman.

Now almost four weeks using the BT 1-3 hours daily and the battery 3/4. Diamonds are the girls' best friends maybe, but the MBW-100 is the best friend of men sure.

Where's the best place to get this watch? I kept an eye out today whilst browsing the sales in Milton Keynes but nobody was stocking it. There's one or two on eBay but I'd prefer not to buy anything substantially on there at the moment and especially from Hong Kong/China.

So... Any suggestions for buying it online? Blueunplugged have it down as arriving within the next day (apparently) but they're selling it for £219.95, SE Store are selling it for £199 but my past experiences of them telling me something is in stock actually means something else entirely different!

High Street? Online? Where?!

Thanks for the instructions. I left my mbw-100 to a watch store and they removed 3 links from it. However that was actually still to big and since I dont feel like paying more money for something that should have been right the first time (and I don't bother taking it up with them) i just did it myself. Really simple infact as long as you can find a tool small enough to get the pin out.

Just confirming:

- Do all the functions work with a K750?
- What's the average, with little use, battery life?
- Which color is the collector one?

Thanks in advance,
Alex

BBCode Quote End -->

For the French amateurs, this Alifax thing is fake. They don't have the piece and will never get it...
I ordered one the day before yesterday and they canceled the order from their side as "they weren't able to give a lead time" (as they said...)

Ordered mine from Expansys, should be coming next week..

The first month with MBW-100 is now full. Everything OK. The battery is 3/4! Keeping the time quite fine maybe one minute late now. But the battery is much better that i expected.

According to other sources on the net, messaging alerts (on the watch) works fine for P990 after the latest firmware upgrade.
I hope it will be the same for W950.
