@siandy: The watch is bigger than the average watch, but I don't really feel the weight on my wrist at all. And my wife hasn't noticed my new watch yet....

Posted by siandy
wow, good for you.... hope there will be smaller one..

Posted by PeterKay
Nice pictures Flizzy, did you get the strap adjusted?
Looks bulky but smart.

Posted by PeterKay
Whats battery life like flizzy? since you've had it?

Posted by malinda
flizzy@ Is your W950(UIQ3) working well wz this?

Posted by PeterKay
@flizzy, can you test this witha P990i? or someone elses P990i just to see whether it works please.

Posted by flizzy
@PeterKay: I've removed 2 links from the strap. Also, I can't test it with a P990, since I don't know anybody that has it.
Regarding battery life, I charged it overnight and only used it for a day and a half, so I need to comeback to you when I will charge it again.

@malinda: The watch is working very well with my W950, except that I don't get any SMS alerts to the watch (it's the same for P990 and M600 according to SE website)

Posted by PeterKay
So it does work with UIQ3 to a certain extent, thats great news.
@Flizzy, did you get the strap sorted yourself or did you get it done at a shop!

Posted by flizzy
@PeterKay: I had to go to a shop, it's really complicated to remove it yourself. That was disappointing, when I was totally ready to use it...

UIQ3 is working with this, confirmed by SE. But, as I said before, you don't get the SMS alerts.

As long as it bonds together, i'm happy

wow that does look nice, i wouldnt mind one of those. i think i will wait till theres a wide range of reviews available.

Posted by flizzy
The battery went dead today, after 3 or 4 days of use. Maybe it's was not fully charged for me. It's supposed to work for 7 days.

The good news is that the analog watch continued to work.

Posted by PeterKay
Any other disadvantages so far?

Posted by baste07
maybe needs a couple of full charges to get its full potential

Posted by flizzy
@PeterKay: The only thing I can think of is the bluetooth range, which is about 10 meter. When I'm at home I put my phone in my deskstand/charger and I have a pretty big apartment so I get a lot of warnings that the clock is out of range, but that' s like it should be.

The good thing is that the watch auto-pair as soon as you come in range again.

@baste07: I hope your right about that.

Posted by baste07
yeah the range is the question

Posted by mathios
anyone tried it with a uiq phone yet e.g p990i or m600?

I use it with W950. All is fine, except that SMS alerts doesn't work. It's the same for M600 & P990.

@flizzy, are you still finding the watch a little heavy? or are you getting use to it?

Also, Peter Kay I did ask Sony Ericsson is it compatable with the P990i, the reply was yes.

I have asked them twice and the answer was no both times.
They told me that don't guarantee any functionality at all.
But of course some things do work.

Posted by flizzy
@PeterKay: The watch feels very comfortable on my wrist, not too heavy.

Posted by PeterKay
Any other advantages/disadvantages flizzy?

Posted by flizzy
What I'm not satisfied with is:

-Battery time (so far I need to charge it every 3rd day)
-Auto-pairing seems to disappear when the battery is out, u need to setup a new auto-pair connecting then.

Otherwise it's really nice. The vibration is just perfect and the watch looks very nice, a lot of people have commented on the look of the watch (even before I tell them about the cool features). Also the feature to control the Walkman functions works really well. I prefer to use the watch instead of the remote of my DS970 Bluetooth headset.

Posted by PeterKay
Battery sounds like a downside for the watch, every third day is not good.
I hate taking my watch off anyway......

Hi guys and girls
I have found a Danish supplier who has this beautiful watch in stock. I just need to know for sure that I can see who is calling me when I use it with my M600. I understand that the SMS alert is NOT working but that is fine by me.

Hope you can help me so I can go out shopping tomorrow...

CLAUS

Posted by flizzy
@claus64: You can for sure use it with M600. As W950 & P990 it's UIQ3 and works well with the watch.

SMS alerts will hopefully work with a new future firmware.

Posted by PeterKay
Overall is it worth the money flizzy?

Posted by flizzy
@PeterKay: What can I say...250 € for a watch that can show me when someone calls and steer my Walkman. No.

But it's so cool and helps me a lot to "hear" my phone, so YES, for sure. It's not that much money for a goodlooking watch. It's waterproof as well.

Isn't that good enough reason to get one then?

Got my watch 2 days ago - charget it - and so far the battery meeter does not indicate any reduction in power at all.
When your watch need a recharge, does the meeter show anything?

@@ER

Posted by flizzy
@EagleRider: It gives me a visual warning and vibrates and show me some kind of battery warning.

I'm really disappointed with the battery. As it is now I need to recharge it at least every second day. If this continues I need to leave it back and have it checked.

@ flizzy

i think what your saying is about right - bought mine two days ago and needed to charge it today.

thats two full days of alert and also controlling the music on my w950

@ peterkay

really need to get one of these - with the on listening to your music you can control the tracks and also, especially if you on a crowded bus, dont need to make any effort to get your phone out, just a look on the watch and you can tell if your boss wondering why u so late

been getting alot of looks in bars and pubs also and people at working asking about it - so the looks must spot on - well done SE

Posted by PeterKay
Tempting me already you guys

What other plus points are there that can pursuade me!
Whats your battery life like?

Posted by imanuk
Hi everyone,

I have read thru all this and just wanted to confirm, I know the P990 works with the watch (not for SMS) but does it work properly? E.g. Does it show the name of the caller from the phone book not the number etc, is there any other functions that rock on it?

Cheers imanuk

Posted by madaboutphones
well at the moment im just playing around with it on standard settings

it vibrates when there is a message incoming and the txt envelope lights up flashing - same again with the calls on mine with the persons running left on the watch led just under the dial hands.

disconnects and reconnects whenever you are too far from paired device - must experiment more though and get maximum out of the watch. hmmmm - maybe it has a hidden laser like in james bond........watch this space...........

Posted by PeterKay
How much did you pay and where from mate?

Posted by madaboutphones
got mine on order from the stuff gadget show down in novotel london, did have a whole load there but sold out as i was slowly working my way around the stands dammit.....just checked my reciept and paid a whole 199.99 english pence from my hard earned work.

Posted by PeterKay
Keep us upto date on the battery life please. And any other points that we may need to know about

Posted by madaboutphones
sure will

battery life i must say is quite short as i have just travelled round world for year and half (hence my last post was actually in 2004) and so am catching up with friends and family who are phoning me at god forsaken hours......CANT A MAN GET SOME SLEEP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD

so ill probably assume as soon as i am up to date with everybody in my life the battery life will probably last longer as no one will phones me
