Hi everybody!
I aquired this strange piece of hardware from a friend of mine, cause they were having a clean up in their office.. Could any one tell me what exactly it is? As far as I found out, its some kind of a scanner cause it has a laser device on top of it and it runs Pocket PC 2002 edition.
Is also has networking capabilities as AD-HOC and Infrastrcture mode. And an expantion slot for CF II cards and one 2,5mm jack on the side.It also has an Ir-DA transmitter on the back. If any one wants more pics, tell me...
PICS

hmm... dunno about phonecalls, although it has an earpice, a mic and a loudspeaker on the back... and it has Windows Media Player...
-------------------
@axxr: well, the problem is that I dunno what cable to use to connect it to my lappy... On the back of the cradle that came with the unit, is a jack, much like a Ethernet jack.. i tried with a modem cable and a standard crossed UTP-5 cable, but nothing happened....

does it have bluetooth?

nope, no BT, but a Wireless Network card and Ir-DA

where on earth you get this from?

If it has WMP maybe you could use it as a huge MP3 player.

Then it would have to be a really huge MP3 player, although with a lot of capacity, concidering that CFII cards are 4 GB and larger

i used one of these everyday at my most recent job.
it is a barcode scanner/ pocket pc.
yours is a little bit older though. mine had BT and wifi. wifi was always on, it was used to keep inventory of parts and machines that we lend out to the employees in my warehouse. it would record everything on the main server (via wifi).
but, you could just use it as a pocket pc...just a big one haha.
they are pretty expensive.
