Anybody got some short films they've converted for the P990i? Would be nice to try a few and see how well they run.

Hi!

I just got my M600, and tested a 240x320 mp4 video file I converted myself on it. It runs pretty smoothly, altough it does wait for a couple of seconds at the beginning. I cannot post the movie (copyrighted material), but I will try to reencode the orange open movie for this phone and post it somewhere (actually it worth googling for it first, since I heard it's already converted to mobile formats)

@Guy H, did you use the PSP version? http://80.190.241.27/hdx4/elephants_dream/ed_psp.mp4

Yes mate. It crops on full screen but the image was very smooth and the picture sharp. Impressive. If I could get Tv and films running like that full or almost full screen I'd be very happy!

You tried it?

Transfering it now

Enjoy!

Nice Just so you know its the movie that had black parts at the top and bottom. Not the phone doing that Because 'ed_psp.mp4' has the same resolution as the Demo movie which is on the handset

Found another short movie, this time from SE. http://www.sonyericsson.com/ddp/FileServlet/ucdFile9159399.mp4?action=download&userID=8412000&fileName=ucdFile9159399.mp4&fileType=img called "Gone Fishing"

I am using PSP Video 9 to convert media files to mp4. However I get a lot of interference and pixelation. Can anyone reccomend some settings or another piece of software?

BTW, which video formats can the P990 play without conversion? 3gp and mp4 i know of. Any others?

I really like M3 personally. Works great using the W900 profile

Hi! I've downloaded some films in mp4 from the net. I found that big files (over 150 mb) didn't work but smaller files like standard tv-shows worked like a charm. I'm currently watching X-files and it is very good sound and picture quality. Anyone else who have tried bigger files?

I heard that it just needs more time to start.
The delay is not noticable till ~1min, it's about 5 seconds for a ~7 minutes movie on my M600, so I guess for a full length movie it could be a whole minute. I don't really know why... I would try to do some tests... but I have only the 64MB memory card, and also the USB connection was VERY slow on the laptop (~12KBps!!!)

Anyway, I managed to set up PAN here at home, pretty nice to connect to the internet through BT (and pretty cheap )
What I want to try now is to setup some streaming server on my home computer (which would convert movies to mp4 format on the fly)... yeah, pretty geek idea, I know

Anyone know a good way to cut mpeg4 clips... i have an mpeg4 which is 150MB and i wanna split it into 3 parts... ohh i use a mac btw... thanks for ur help!!

Anyone else finding the p990 won't play large files in media player... got a bit carried away with the quality on terminator 2 (300MB) and the phone refuses to play it.
