Sony TV Package Deal

Hi everyone my Grandad has told me to get on the hunt for a new television. We want one that has freeview built in which most televisions do now anyway. Also it should be around 32inch flat screen if possible. It doesn't have to be the best one available but something that will last along time.

I have also persuaded him to upgrade from a video recorder to a HD/DVD recorder, hopefully he will be able to use it lol. The budget is around £600-£700 and i would like to be able to get him everything included, ie tv with freeview built in, hd/dvd recorder, stand etc etc.

I have had a little look around but cannot come across and decent package deals, can anyone point me in the right direction at all? By the way it has to be sony, everything else he has had has broken and i have 100% faith in sony products so nothing else will do lol.

Thanks!

not going to find that all in one and tbh sony probally isnt the best brand to get if you want one thats going to last...

be best to go for a freeview/hd recorder with say a 40gb hd (can upgrade them) then go for a tv and stand.... argos maybe the best place to look

I have had a look at argos and not found much. I was thinking of the sony wega range, think it may have been discontinued though.

Sure i could get a decent size tv and hd recorder in that range surely? It is just finding it that is the problem lol.

I don't suppose it has to have freeview built in but it would save having a box. I could also just get a dvd recorder without the hd facility. Not sure what to do.

Thanks!

hey laura,

i have found a 32" HD ready, lcd tv all for £599

it includes a freeview box built in....

but i would certainly go for a tv thats HD ready - otherwise in a couple of years you'll be kick your feet

you can get a lesser branded one or something, it makes allot more sense to me, if you went with less of a premium brand, as lets face it they aint the best brand of tv out...

Thanks for the link Lee but i would never really go for a brand that i have never heard of, i trust sony. Everything i have had from them has been flawless. My dvd player is over 5 years old and is still working perfectly.

It may not be the best in quality but it is what i am sticking to, i like the wega range and could probably get what i wanted in that range although maybe not 32inch screen, which would be fine by me. Just need to try and find one know.

Thanks!
