Hi peeps! can somebody please help me how to configure my mms and gprs settings on my phone? I'm a Globe subscriber and for the past week they've been seending me configuration and its seems that it isn't working!

Hi,
The auto-configure SMS works fine with me. But then again, I'm a smart/addict subscriber. Hehehe..
Try visiting the Sonyericsson website. They have a service for configuring your phone. Forgot the exact URL though...but the page is easy to navigate to from the main site.
If that doesn't work, you may have to visit the CSR's at the GLOBE center.

hey!
i'm a globe user too. ive been able to configure the mms using the settings sony gave me. i found it on the sonyericsson/supports page. i cant remember exactly where that was. but i was just browsing their site and found it. try it out!

create account on the following under internet accounts

I haven't been playing around with the Media player that much.
But I do remember that you have to tell the media player to scan your memory for audio files. Once the scan is done, the media player will automatically sort the audio files based on the track info stored in those files.
After you do that, you can start playing the audio.

done that, but it seems the player doesn't recognise ID3tag, ang arrangement nya palagi alphabetical, di tulad sa k750 based sa track number,... palagay ko kelangan i-edit yung song>>>should include the track number sa song/filename......

inquire ko lang hows the signal reception of your p990i? been reading from reviews that medyo hindi ganun ka stable ang signal receptivity ng unit. overall hows the performance of your p990i? i have a friend with dilemma of what to buy: either a p990i or a nokia n93.

Signal is a-ok on my unit.
The only time I had erratic signals was on teh first couple of days after typhoon Milenyo. But that was most likely caused by damaged cellsites.

baka naman yung signal na sinasabi mo pards e kapag lumabas yung 3G signal. under mobile networks select mo lang GSM para di makasagabal yung 3G. minsan kasi yang 3G dahilan baket hirap magtext at tumawag.

meron na bang naka-try gumamit nung MMR-60(fm transmitter) with p990i? sa akin ayaw gumana although nadetect cya nung phone, pero ayaw naman magtransmit?

Partners, have you noticed that you can't put an animated gif in the Flip Closed Wallpaper?
Nakaka-inis! My old P900 could use animated gifs as a wallpaper, but not my new P990i! I hope the next firmware upgrade takes care of this...

To those who want to encode videos for P990:
use Nero Recode 2. May settings dun for PSP (320x240) , tapos yung video quality lagay mo sa 200kbps, tapos start encoding! ang bilis nya mag-encode at the same time very good quality video!
steps:
1. open STARTSMART (menu sa nero)
2. choose 'Recode 2'
3. choose 'Recode DVDs and Videos to Nero Digital'
4. click 'Import files' (get the source video you want to encode), click 'Add title' ( you can encode as many as you want), then 'close'
5. Uncheck the 'fit to target' box
6. Slide the 'Video Quality' to 96kbps to 262kbps ( higher quality, higher file size) . For me optimum is 200kbps, 96 kbps is also watchable ....
7. click 'next'
8. select output folder, here you can also click 'nero digital settings' to choose: encode method (high quality encoding 2-pass)
quality/speed ( best quality)
advanced (default)
keyframes (default)
matrices (default)
9. click 'Burn'
10. ENJOY!

going back to the first question, you could try sending "GO P990i" (minus the quotes!) to 2951 if you are a globe user. sa other networks, hindi ko alam...
hindi ko pa rin mapagana video streaming ng globe.. 'yung free na abs, gma atsaka cnn.. ayaw talaga mag-play..
i just saw today at ebay.ph that someone is selling a crystal case for p990i. dongv ata username niya and he sells it for P500..
i'm still waiting for a capdase/brando/pivot silicon case.. i still prefer the silicons...

I recently bought a leather case, BJ Brand, from HK. It costs HK$120 from 2nd Flr. Mongkok Computer Center. Its a lot lot better than the Capdase leather case which sells the same price. Its pure leather and the look and feel is excellent. I posted some pics taken from my Z520i. I think somebody should check this in Sham Shou Po Computer Center, it may be a bit cheaper.

Silicone cases also available in ghills. Got a black one but it's not capdase branded. Capdase has dark gray and white only, no black version. The black one looks better for me and cheaper too ;D The capdase though comes with a protector for the keypad.
I originally planned to get leather case, but it looked just too bulky for my taste.
Happy with the p990i? Coming from a p900 shifted to an xda2 then back to a p990i, my first day experience was pretty pleasant. I just realized how I missed the keypad for sms typing. The screen resolution is amazing too. Well, let's just see how it goes for the next few days.

The black silicone case I bought from greenhills looks similar to the leather case posted by traxxx. No buttons necessary though since it's silicone.

I think the silicone was like Php350 or less than that, not so sure now, it was that dirt cheap. I bought some other stuff (i.e. 1 gb memory stick, screen protector, some ipod stuff, etc.) so I was able to haggle down the package price. The store I went to was Orange in Virra Mall. You might want to check them out.

Question, guys. I'm on Smart Gold. There are times when I reply to an SMS that I received, the default reply of my P990 is in the form of MMS. Haven't really had time to read through the manual but if you know how to remedy this kindly share naman. Thanks!

ayoko na ng silicone eh, hindi nakikita yung ganda ng phone.... kaya pina-Gmask ko na lang sabay bili ng IEC-20 leather case from SE.... and I'm very happy with it!
sayang kasi yung silicone, mura ko rin naman nakuha sa ghills mga 250 lang, hindi ko na gagamitin. kung sino na lang nauna mag-reply... bigay ko na lang .... sa gilmore or v-mall lang ako pwede pumunta para ibigay.

i bought my p990i second hand.. i ask ko lang guys, kung automatic ng nakainstall ang documents to go sa p990i or may installation siya... yung 64MB MS wala na... the previous owner ang binigay sa akin ay 512MB
anong mga applications ang nakalagay sa 64MB?
